My Facebook Account was taken over tonight. I tried everything to get it back but the hacker changed my email address and phone #. The email I received alerting me of the email change had an expired link. It asked if it was me that changed the password but when I said it wasnt me the link did not work. I have gone down every path that I can online to try to get the account back myself. It is not possible with out the help of Meta/Facebook. The hacker has changed my phone # and email address so I cannot recover it myself. ********************* phone # is ********** All of the links that Facebook provide for help with this issue are DEAD ENDS. I have no way to contact them or to get help from them. My account and my privacy has been invaded. I have had this account for at many many years. I dont know when I started it but it must be at least ***** because my oldest son is 18 years old and I have prek pictures of him on my account. ******************** has to be accountable for helping people get their accounts back. It has a lot of personal information and facebook connects to many other sites. Please connect me into the right person to help me with this issue. How can you have an account for this many years - help facebook make money by being a user but not be supported in any way when your account is compromised. the account took 20 years to build into what it is and is connected to many sensitive other accounts. I need META to help me with this issue.Facebook has an obligation to help account members. I also have an instagram account. It has the same profile picture phon # and email address associated as proof of my identitiy if needed. I own the trademark to ******. It is my last name and I have requested to use it on Facebook and Instagram multiple times. My email and my facebook account passwords changed on me in an apparent hack. I have the phone number and cant get into my account anyway. Their is no customer support phone number and when i go to the options about hacking it redirects me to my email password without any identification process or giving me a new code with my phone number. When this happened to me with a company like uber they helped verify and change it over the phone in an emergency situation. facebook just lost in court over privacy issues yet you still cant remove hacked accounts its really not good for the user. On August 19, 2023, at approximately 2pm, my Facebook profile was hacked and stolen when my e-mail address was compromised through malware/phishing. Once the hacker logged into my Facebook account, they changed my account's password, email address, authentication and security settings; and subsequently I'm no longer able to go through any verification process to regain access to my page.I have gone through all of the methods for account recovery offered by Facebook; which according to the platform's automated system, were not enough for the company to return my account. ******************** offers no contact support ability through phone number, emails or chat applications - and relies exclusively on forms that quickly lead to dead ends. I am unable to provide a link to the Facebook profile that was compromised as I have no way to access my account, I have been completely deleted and the profile now belongs to an entity named ***************** and a new, Hotmail address. The name associated with the account when it belonged to me was ************************************************** with the e-mail [email protected] am very concerned because a hacker is in control of not only my account but also a separate page that I maintain for my church. They have access to my friends list and contacts, have the ability to post as and impersonate me and potentially even spread additional malware or illicit material to others. This has become a huge violation of my privacy; as well as what I would consider identity theft. Facebook's complete lack of support on this issue is upsetting. Facebook offers no means of reaching out to them other than through forms that don't work because the hacker changed my account's email address and security settings. The resolution I am seeking is to have my account recovered and returned to me. I can provide the old email address associated with my hacked Facebook account (before it was changed by the hacker), as well as OLD passwords to the account prior to the hacker changing it.Initial Complaint

My great aunt is the victom of an elderly romance scam following the passing of her late husband and she's been exploited out of... who knows how much money at this point. The accounts exploiting her are obviously fraudulent, however the current reporting tools in Facebook are saying that the accounts meet their guidelines. There is no customer support to help with this. I understand that Facebook is a platform and the individuals on it are responsible for themselves, however when there is mass fraud taking place on your platform and there aren't mechanisms in place to prompt investigation, that seems like being an accomplice to the elderly fraud itself. I've already contacted the National Elder Fraud Hotline through the ****** of ******* of Crimes, however I wanted to file an investigation with the BBB as well as this runs rampant on the platform and there doesn't seem to be a way to counter it as a user.Initial Complaint

Good day, My name is *****************************. I am writing a consumer complaint against Facebook which is now ******************* On the evening of August 17, 2023 around 10 PM my Facebook profile was hacked and performed unusual activity that I don't even know. However, I has evidence that my account and my device was actually hacked and the hacker do unusual activity that violates community standards of Facebook. My account was quickly disabled by Facebook security system because of those violation in community standards. After my account was disabled, I had downloaded my limited information and noticed that there was a login and logout activity from another location and unknown device that i had not seen before. Additionally, the activity curiously occurred while i was present and using Facebook. So, in conclusion, the hacker access my account while I was active in Facebook. (I was using Facebook when suddenly it automatically log-out and when i tried to log-in, it says "Your account has been disabled due to not following community standards"). I try to address my concerns in their available links (facebook.com/help, facebook.com/hacked) but they won't let me send a review request for my disable account (i could provide a screen shot if you ask). I've also tried to email them multiple times already to explain this issue, to explain that I'm wrongfully disable by their security system. Unfortunately, as hard as I tried, I did not receive any response from them and couldn't get my account reinstated. (Detailed explanation below) I am writing in all sincerity and asking for your help in recovering my Facebook personal profile, which was mistakenly disabled by Facebook due to unusual activity on August 17, 2023. I believed that the hacker did it to access my personal information and to perform identity theft to get my banking and e-wallet accounts that are listed in my own Facebook profile messages. Facebook's security system automatically disabled my account for this unusual activity. I understand that Facebook is a company in **********, and there is a possibility you can help me with this matter, which has been very stressful and disturbing for me and my family. This issue has had a considerable impact on my daily life, a large portion of my income sources have been stopped which has destroyed my life and my connection to my family. I had small business under my Facebook management profile before the issue and now they are all gone. I lost all contact and have a potential loss of nearly 500 dollars transaction from my account because of this issue. Ive had my account since June 16, 2018. I am a breadwinner, and I have never even experienced a warning or restriction on any Facebook comment or post since my Facebook account was created. On the evening of August 17, 2023, I see no email from Facebook stating that my personal Facebook profile had been disable. I then logged in into my Facebook personal profile to see that it was disabled. Facebook disabled my account for something against community standards. Facebook also had me upload valid identification cards ID's. I try to upload my valid ID as a requirement to reactivate my account and served as an identity proof of myself as an owner of the account. I've also tried to create a new account, but ******************** automatically banned me as soon as I entered their platform. This was because their algorithm or security system identified me as a violator to their community guidelines, they said i violate their community guidelines and they permanently disabled my account. With this, I am humbly asking for your assistance to contact Meta to further review the ban from my account. Please know that my account has been a part of my daily routine and that plenty of photos of loved ones are stored before they became memories. Facebook disabled my account. I lost so much. All of my photos and memories of the past from 2018 up to August 17, 2023, had gone. The files that I need to retrieve and the shared messages and conversations have already vanished. Files that are essential to me, especially to my work. All that history. All the connections and big support groups I ran for years. This has been an emotional and high-pressured mental health experience for me, considering all the things I have tried to get my account back. I have an account with Instagram and a few weeks after I had created this account I received a notification that my promotions feature of Instagram is disabled. It stated that I broke the rules of promoting my business even though at this point I had never run an ad on Instagram. I tried to resolve through the app and it took me to fill out a text box with an appeal and someone would look into it. Once you submit this appeal there is a note that pops up saying they cannot appeal it because the account isn't blocked it just doesn't let me run an ad for another reason. I run through this loop over and over again. I am a small business and I have built up a clientele for myself so I am unable to just delete this account and create a new one. I would like to have the functionality of running ads and promotions on Instagram as other businesses do on this platform.Initial Complaint

My Facebook account was hacked and there is no way for me to recover the account as the hacker changed the password, the email address and removed the phone number from the account. I can request a password change, however the change link would be sent to the hackers email address which doesnt help me. I tried logging in with an older password to see if that would prompt for more info for me to identify myself. That didnt work. Facebook customer service is lacking and its very upsetting that I have no control over the content that represents me, Facebook needs to be regulated so that they have more respectful of peoples privacy.Initial Complaint

So I have reported these accounts for ******, Harassment, Vandalism, Mockery, and ******* to my Military Career at first they were taking care of it. It's resulting in a VA Claim for the Active Duty Orders that were damaged as a result of the Online Misbehavior. My Job in the Air Force is Cyber Defense Operations and my unit is the 147th ****** Communications Squadron for the ********** Air National Guard. I am a Senior Airman almost SSgt. They are currently using the blue verification badge to hide the Issue.
