Im filing this report because I have tried every possible avenue and this seems to be the only way to get an actual person to help me.For whatever reason, Instagram immediately suspended my account after it was set up. I never even got the chance to set up my picture or biography or post anything. Since no policies were broken, my only assumption is that their algorithm assumed that I was a bot and shut down my account. I understand that bots are an issue, but this is ridiculous. Why not add a recaptcha to the process or send a validation link to the persons email? Now my account is stuck in a never ending limbo. No matter what I click on, I keep getting error messages (screenshots attached). *** spent hours upon hours in the help center, but I keep getting re-directed to my profile which doesnt allow me to do anything. As you can imagine, Im extremely frustrated. This account is going to be tied to my new business and I chose this specific username to coincide with my other social media platforms. I use social media (e.g., Meta products Instagram and Facebook) to post information about my commercial/professional activities, primarily, and appropriate personal activities, as is the common usage for these platforms. Recently, I began receiving alerts that prompted me to enter a code emailed from Meta in a form and change my password to confirm my membership. The alert says IG/Meta has noticed suspicious activity on my site, that I am possibly being "phished" or hacked. Even though I have repeatedly followed these directions, have been given no further information on the threat/hack activity, the alerts continue, no resolution has occurred. My account has become practically unusable as a result. I have attempted to contact tech support multiple times. Articles online suggest mine is a known bug. They also acknowledge that Meta tech support is essentially non-responsive, probably existing only to deflect legislation or regulation. First, I would like my service restored, if possible. Second, I would like to pursue legal measures to bring attention not only to the bug, but also to the atrocious, notoriously poor customer service practiced by this immensely rich and powerful corporation. As an individual consumer/user I am not a match for ***************** Although Instagram is a "free" service, it gains enormous profits by selling data, providing access to my user histories in aggregate, making my content available to third parties for use in AI programs, research, etc., for which I gave no direct consent. BBB is strategically situated to raise concerns about the nature of the tech monopolies that enable bad business practices like the one I am encountering to continue without consequences. I would be willing to advocate for major legal/policy campaigns to fix this serious power disparity, in order to improve the services that impact millions/billions of users/consumers such as myself.Initial Complaint

Facebook has for years allowed my exes girlfriend to harass me all over social media! I block she creates new pages fake pages messages me harasses me I cannot post a simple review on a companies page without her or my son harassing and defaming me I have reported this every single time and FACEBOOK DOES ABSOLUTELY ZERO! Just recently reporters last nights defamation/harassment I got back a message that none of the comments went against community standards and the posts and pages remain active! I have a demand letter ready to be mailed and I will be producing legal action against this company specifically ******************* or however you wrote this individuals name. The security email came in and I stated this wasnt me, changed the pass word and said individual was still able to take over my account. Facebook marketplace blocks people for no reason (according to reddit, quora, blocked me as well). With bo warning. One item they didnt like was toy medical cart to play doctor. Another was glasses frame, just frame. People write and i experienced that the decisions arent common sense, made by bots. No insentive to read appeals or explanations and people get banned for no reason. Im reading on reddit that even people who never bought or sold get banned. Its a problem as i had about **** household items and baby items listed. It took a while to post those listings. I had opened a Facebook account with the ********************** now referred to as Meta as they own this application approx 2011/2012. At the time, my legal name was ************************* and it was my personal Facebook account. I later got divorced and eventually created a new Facebook account with the same **********************, using my current name ***********************(maiden). Recently, I was made aware that the old Facebook account re-activated by a hacker who has also changed the email and phone number associated with that account. I have spent countless hours trying to recover my hacked Facebook profile and have found a brick wall using every way that Meta states you can recover. There are pictures of my minor children on this hacked account - I tried to submit a privacy violation for the children and when you enter it a CAPTCHA pops up that is un-usable so you can never actually submit the privacy concern. There is no way of calling or emailing a department for assistance and every automated solution offered does not actually get you to a resolution. There is no customer service to speak of and no way to even report the privacy violation. Reporting the profile as a hacked account has also not gotten any assistance as they just return with an automated response saying that the account is not fake.Initial Complaint

Hi, our Instagram account - @Glausangelesstore - was deactivated for no apparent reason despite our best efforts to contact Instagram/Meta to no avail. We are a small business who relies on Instagram to serve our community and losing access to our account is a crushing blow to our company. My Facebook account (along with LinkedIn account) was hacked. The person who stole my identity changed the email address on my account. When i try using Facebook's on-line tools to recover my account, it sends me in a continual loop and provides NO way for me to log an issue with them. When I follow the steps for a hacked account it asks me to provide the email associated with the account (of course its been changed). I can put my mobile number in, but it then tells me the account has been disabled. When i follow the steps for addressing a disabled account it asks for my email or cell phone along with a drivers license. But if i try to submit this- it tells me the email is not associated with any account. It also won't take the cell phone (see attachment). Someone has stolen my identify and Facebook provides NO path for resolution.
