Canceled Stamps.com account in February 2023. Account was auto draft. Stamps.com, even though canceled, drafted funds from my Business Account. I called and got someone out-of-Country. She did see the error and issued a credit to resolve. I asked then, "is the account closed and also the auto draft?" Yes was the answer.Wel, April 17, Stamps.com drafted another ***** from my account, without authorization. This time when I spoke to someone out of the Country, with a very thick accent, the issue was not resolved at all. As a matter of fact, both people I spoke with stated they could not "see" where the account had been drafted. My Bank states my only resolve is to cancel my card and get a new one. Ridiculous is what I think. I used their service, and paid for it, for a couple of years, but then went another direction and canceled it. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, as long as the promises made are KEPT. If the $19.99 gets drafted again, it will show that Stamps.com does not communicate within itself. The fact that there is "NO RECORD" of my phone calls or cancellation is concerning.

Stamps.com never contacted me regarding the end of its trial period, nor did they send me any bill or payment confirmation to inform me that I was charged for their monthly membership at all. I have not used any of their services and lost two payments before they attempted to raise my monthly charge from $17.99 to $19.99. I have canceled this membership but there is still a $11.39 charge appearing on my credit card.Business Response

Dear *******,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customersconcerns very seriously. Normally, a customer is responsible for all service fees. However, rest assured that we have issued a courtesy refund totaling $29.38 to your credit card. Your confirmation number is: 230501-004310.
We apologize for any misunderstanding. $11.39 is your prorated final fee for the cycle of April 8, 2023 to April 27, 2023. We show that you cancelled on April 27, 2023. Stamps.com always bills in arrears at the end of each cycle, rather than in advance. We do not bill at the beginning of the cycle.
We show that this account was fully activated on 3/8/23. To create any Stamps.com account, you must complete the multi-step registration process at www.stamps.com.
Registration requires you to enter your name, mailing address, phone number and credit card information, in addition to creating a username and password and selecting two security questions. Also, you must review and agree to our Terms and Conditions:

We show that a Welcome Email confirming activation had been sent to you on 3/8/23. We hear your concerns and we always aim to fully disclose our fees before any account can be created. We do not advertise or offer a free or pay-as-you-go service, and as disclosed and explained during registration, we do charge a monthly fee after the 4-Week Trial Period, which ended on your account on 4/6/23. We show that you cancelled your account on 4/27/23.
We never charge people without their full agreement and awareness during our online registration process. Our service fee is not based on usage or activity. The monthly subscription service fee that Stamps.com charges is for access of the Stamps.com software, which allows customers to print postage from the comfort of their home or small office using just a PC and a printer. Our service is a monthly subscription service so its not based on usage of the software, but rather on having access to using it.

I have recently noticed that Stamps.com has been collecting a fee of $17.99 for a couple of years. I do remember signing up for a trial with them but not for the full service. Unfortunately while dealing with a few personal problems I did not follow up on this so was unaware that I was continually being charged. I am not looking for past charges I just want to cancel my current subscription so that I will no longer be charged. In March 2023 I stopped my credit card from paying the service fee and received an email saying there was a problem with my service fee from Stamps.com. At that time I tried unsuccessfully signing into my account and calling them to cancel. I attempted this again on 4/29/23; signing into my account to no avail. I have reached out to Stamps.com again through an email and explained that I can not get into my account. The questions they ask are straightforward so I am sure the answers I gave are correct and they sent me an email with my username so I can not figure out why I am unable to sign in. I just want to get this taken care of so that I no longer have to check to make sure I am not charged and to not receive emails saying I owe anything.Business Response

I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration with the unauthorized charges that have been appearing on my credit card from your company, Stamps.com. For the past few months, I have been charged $18 per month without my knowledge.I was never informed of these charges nor did I receive any receipts or notifications regarding the billing. This has caused me a great deal of inconvenience and frustration as I had no idea that I was being charged for something that I never authorized or used.As a customer, I expect to be notified in advance of any charges and given the option to opt-in or opt-out of any services. It is unacceptable that your company has been charging me for something without my knowledge or consent.Business Response

On 4/25/2023, I noticed a pending charge of $21.84 on my secondary checking account from **********************. This was not an authorized charge and, as it was unexpected and on my secondary checking account, caused $72.00 in overdraft fees on my account as there was not funds available for this transaction. I received no prior notification of this upcoming charge and received no receipt from Stamps.com after this charge showing why I was charged this amount. We do consider the fee in question to be valid. Unfortunately, Stamps.com does not issue a refund for overdraft fees, as stated in our Terms and Conditions. On 4/15/20 during the pandemic, I opened a stamps.com account. There were shut-downs so we were concerned about paying our bills on time and staying safe. We weren't aware that after the 4 week trial period our credit card account would be charged each month. Nowhere did we see a dollar monthly service fee amount, nor did we agree to that in writing. Had we known this, we never would have agreed to opening an account, not to mention paying the fees. This information was clearly and intentionally hidden to the average consumer. Unbeknownst to **, we were being charged at least $17.99 per month. Apparently this fee recently increased to $19.99. Both fees also include 6% sales tax. None of this was communicated to **, nor were we given advance notice our trial period ended and we'd be receiving monthly charges; we just now noticed it on our monthly credit card bill. I immediately called customer service at ********************** today ********* and was told they were sorry and all they can do is refund ** a pro-rated amount for this month ($13.99). We received an email confirming same, although the refund hasn't yet been issued to our credit card bill. They also told ** due to our troubles they could refund ** $40.26 which allegedly represented two months' service fees. The service representative identified herself as "****" and told ** she couldn't give ** the ******************* team member's name who she was typing questions to regarding our issues. We have been paying service fees unknowingly for over 35 months, with varying monthly fees (to our knowledge) ranging from $17.99 to $19.99 per month plus 6% sales tax which amounts to in excess of $700! To this date, I have never been provided with any written documentation showing I authorized these charges. This is a huge financial hardship for our family and we would greatly appreciate help with resolving it, as well as helping prevent it from happening to other unknowing individuals. Thank you. I recently discovered that I was charged monthly by stamps.com for an account I did not realize I had. I tried to stop the account several times but I could not even access it. I called my credit card to report fraud but they said it was a real business. I finally received an email from stamps.com notifying me of a rate increase. This was the only email I ever received from this company. I used it to try to log into my account (which I could not as my account was never activated) and then to call them. I explained that I never set this up and that I was charged over $600 in over three years for a service I never authorized or received a benefit from. The customer service rep agreed with me. Their Legal team would not reimburse me for this fake service and offered me $37 in compensation. They also finally cancelled my account. Their actions should be stopped so no one else becomes a victim like I did.Business Response

I am writing to file a complaint against Stamps.com for their unethical billing practices. I dont remember to set up any subscription with them , but Stamps.com has continued to attempt to charge me for subscription fees. I had an account a couple years ago but have closed that account long ago. This is why their attempts at charging me have failed, they have old bank information from a past account. I request that they cancel my subscription and stop attempting to charge my account.Business Response

A few months ago I needed to order free shipping boxes, for ***** They never mentioned I was signing up for a subscription that would be taking a monthly service fee of $21.73. They charged my card twice before I caught it! When I called them, they were unable to tell me what service they were providing to me. They told me the charges were not reversible. It was not until I filed a fraud report with my bank, that they finally agreed to return my money. It is very scary to realize that your account can be charged without your permission. It makes me more aware of what websites I visit. It also makes me angry. My bank required that I cancel my card and this caused a great deal of inconveniences. Thank you for your time.***************************Business Response
