I received free stamps in an unsolicited mail from Stamps.com. Perhaps they target naive senior citizens. Im 82. In order to use the stamps, apparently I must have had to provide a credit card number and I certainly missed the caveat that by using the stamps I then became obliged to pay a monthly fee regardless of not using the service offered. When I noticed a charge on my credit card I assumed it was an error and contacted my credit card issuer. They declined to pay the charge and cancelled the credit card. Stamps.com continues to attempt collect a monthly fee which is declined by the credit card company. Other than falling for the free stamps, I have never used the service offered. The most recent email received from them states that I owe them $392.20. Shame on me, at my age I should have realized that there is no such thing as a free lunch; or in this case, free stamps.

Not able to cancel my subscription after several attempts in the app and on their website keeps getting surrounded back to your account has been updated to a $0 plan and you'll be billed $20 and some odd change on a certain date. I am not paying anything for this service other than the $10 that they already have of mine which $2.09 or something like that is still in the account. Keep it and leave me alone. This company is just ridiculous. I should have never ever signed up and read the reviews and the complaints listed here. They're all accurate and true. This company is doing nothing but attempting to scam people out of their hard-earned money. It is ridiculous what they are doing to consumers. After this I'm going to report them to the REMOVED. I'm sure it's been done already cuz I see it has been in the recent complaints from other customers. This company is just used to doing things their own way and that's got to stop.

    Dear REMOVED
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers concerns very seriously.  Rest assured that your account is closed and that you will not be charged the $20.99 service fee.  Any remaining purchased postage will be refunded to you.
We do offer various means to cancel, including phone, email, and online options.  We offer customers the opportunity to switch to a $0.00 Subscription-Fee Plan for service fees for succeeding cycles.  We bill in arrears, not at the beginning of the cycle.  We show that you had opted to switch to the $0.00 Subscription-Fee Plan on 12/08/2025.  We bill at the end of the cycle for the cycle you started with. When a service plan change takes place, the new billing always goes into effect at the end of your next cycle.
We appreciate your detailed feedback regarding the plan change structure.   In accordance with our terms  (  www.stamps.com/conditions )we always bill at the end of the cycle, not at the beginning.  This means that when a service plan change takes place, the new billing always goes into effect at the end of your next cycle.  We do show that you signed up for the $20.99 Core Plan.  However, as indicated above, you canceled during the 4-Week Trial Period and will not be billed.  In regard to the subscription-free plan, this change would have taken place in the next cycle if you had decided to keep your account open.

I utilized Stamps.com one singular time, and understood while signing up that it was a monthly membership that I planned to terminate, and then did. However, for whatever reason, I kept continuously being charged for said membership, despite being told my account had been closed. No amount of communication has helped this, so I removed my credit card from the account. I have never used Stamps.com since nor have I so much as even logged onto the account (which again, I tried repeatedly to close). I noticed today that I have been receiving emails that have been going to my Spam folder claiming that I owe Stamps.com money for my account charges. I have not utilized this service, AND attempted to cancel it, and do not feel it is ethical or fair that these emails persist, nor do I feel it fair that I should pay these charges, and wish to be left alone by this business, which I have no plan of ever using again. According to my internet research, many other people have fallen into this exact same situation and believe Stamps.com to be a scam, which leads me to believe this is intentional and predatory on the part of their business model. If BBB could please help me resolve this, that would be great.

Several months ago, I was looking for a way to order stamps online, a book of stamps. I tried signing up on www.stamps.com, thinking I was working with the REMOVED. When I saw the fee they wanted, I stopped and I did not complete the signup process. I replied to their emails telling them it was a mistake, not realizing they were "no-reply" at first. I can't seem to find a way to get hold of them. I have not used their service, and did not even complete the sign-up process. They want me to pay $325 for nothing. I want this charge removed from my name and I want www.stamps.com to stop contacting me.

I am filing this complaint against Stamps.com regarding unauthorized and unfair billing practices. My account has not been active or in use , yet the company continued to attempt to charge me monthly fees, resulting in a total balance of $62.97.When I contacted Stamps.com to dispute these charges, I was informed that they continue billing customers even when accounts are not being used. I was never made aware of this policy, nor did I knowingly agree to being charged for an inactive account. At no point was I notified that charges would continue to accrue without any account activity.I believe this practice is deceptive and unethical. I am requesting that Stamps.com remove the $62.97 in charges and immediately close my account to prevent any further billing. Please investigate this matter and assist in resolving it fairly.Account Username :dv29 Email : REMOVED

Stamps.com signed me up for a recurring charge, and then never provided terms of service. Furthermore, I was unaware that I was enrolled in a recurring billing plan until I received 2 months of charges to my credit card. Stamps.com never sent a monthly invoice about these payments, nor did they inform me of the services they offered. I am not even aware of when my account was signed up. I understood that I used stamps.com for a one-time purchase of shipping credits, but was unaware that I had a monthly charge. I am seeking better practices from this company to inform customers of monthly, recurring charges and I wish to have my money for the October charges, approximately REMOVED, returned due to lack of information about any policy, charges, or contract.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID REMOVED. I would also ask Stamps.com to change their practices to ensure that they notify future customers of upcoming and pending charges. I found the lack of communication to be surprising and problematic since I was not aware that I was enrolled in this monthly service. Furthermore, it was difficult to understand what I was being billed for from my credit card company since I had no record of communication with Stamps.com about enrolling or billing for any services. This seemed like a total scam, and I would not want any other people to fall prey to this kind of predatory and deceptive practice to extract funds from people. Please improve your practices to prevent further problems like these.

    Sincerely,

    REMOVED

I am filing a complaint regarding Stamps.com and ongoing unauthorized billing. Several years ago I signed up for a Stamps dot com account. I never created any paid contract with them and they do not have any valid payment method on file for me. Despite this, the company has continued to generate monthly charges on my REMOVEDno point have I received services, nor have I approved any billing agreement. These charges have accumulated to approximately five hundred dollars. The company continues to email monthly statements even though there is no payment source connected to my account and no permission to charge REMOVEDhave attempted to resolve this issue directly but the charges continue. This pattern is unacceptable and gives the appearance of a system that automatically bills former trial users regardless of whether a valid account exists.I am requesting the following:1.Full reversal of all accumulated charges.2.Immediate closure of the REMOVEDconfirmation that no further charges or statements will be generated.I am submitting this complaint because Stamps.com appears to respond only when a formal Better Business Bureau report is filed. I am seeking a swift resolution and complete removal of the unauthorized balance.

I created an account earlier and was poking around the website just to compare prices to compeditors. Recently, I received a charge on my credit card for a subscription that I don't remember ever agreeing to. I did not recieve any prior communication stating that my card would be charged, and had no idea that it would be. I have not ever shipped anything with this company and when I tried to close my account, it is stating that I will be charged AGAIN when I haven't used the service and don't remember even agreeing to a subscription service. This is seeming like a scam with how little I have recieved about any charges, and how much I had to poke around their website to even figure out why I was charged.

I became aware of an unauthorized charge on my credit card in August for $20.99. I reached out to support and they said there was nothing they could do, and recommended I get in touch with my card issuer. I requested they remove all of my information and account from their database, as this was unauthorized. My card was cancelled by the issuer and I received a new card in the REMOVEDOctober, I received another unauthorized charge on my NEW card, for the same amount, $20.99. I do not want to have another card issued, so I reached out to support again and asked for a refund as I don't want to have to get another card issued for the second time in three months. I asked how this could have possibly happened if they removed all of my information. My bank believes it was a card from a digital wallet that was not updated at the time they issued the new card. It has now been over two weeks, and I've gone back and forth with support many times, even calling when they requested me to. When I called, I was on hold for 45 minutes while they told me they couldn't access my information (due to the original fraudulent charge) so they needed a senior tech, all of whom were unavailable. At this point in time, I've been waiting for over a week for them to contact a senior tech and give me an update. I have not heard from them since last week, and I've reached out twice for an update. At this point, I'm out $20.99, and my card issuer has blocked all future charges from this merchant, but I am concerned that this solution will not be enough. I would like the $20.99 refunded, and confirmation that I will not see another charge from stamps.com on my credit card.

I am rejecting this response because:

As of today, there has been no refund, no email. The response would be satisfactory if they actually issued a refund and closed the account. They could also issue a timeline and complete the refund and send the email in a timely manner. At this point, their response is performative and the business still has not taken action.
