I had purchased the domain franceskosaliaj.com from namecheap.com for 5 years period as shown on the receipt I have attached. On May 7th, 2023 I received an email telling me that the domain under my name had been sold. I never put my domain up for sale. I never authorized or consented to them putting my domain for sale. As you can see, the domain is my own name. I would have never sold that domain. I am very worried the party/ies that have purchased it will be using my name in that domain for malicious or nefarious purposes.I have contacted them as soon as I received that email and tried to work with them to explain that it was not me who put the domain for sale. They keep claiming it was me. I don't see any other way how to show to them that it was not me who took those actions they claim I took.I want my domain back.Initial Complaint

Namecheap uses tricky methods to ensure that auto-renew is always reset. So, after I toggled off auto-renew for my domains, it was defaulted back to on. I have video evidence that I can provide. I'd like a refund for recent charges and I'd like Namecheap to consider changing their billing practices which I believe are not ethicalInitial Complaint

I didn't have an issue with the company until I transferred a premium domain to them.I had auto-renew active on my domain, and I had an active card on the file, which was confirmed by email with the support agent. Nonetheless, namecheap didn't charge this card even though they had my consent that I wanted this domain to be automatically updated. When I contacted support, he told me it was my problem because I had to go through some additional procedure that they have nowhere mentioned to have the funds taken from the card that was already on their website and that had previously been used to pay for the domain renewals!I have reasons to believe that this has been done to get a hold of my premium domain, and I would like namecheap to get my domain back.Initial Complaint

Their website glitched out when I tried to renew my domain and could not use my domain because of it.I then filed a chargeback as they did not fix the problem. They then did not allow me to pay for the renewal.Their customer service is terrible as well. Here's your internal ticket: VAN-576-*****Initial Complaint

NameCheap charged me for a renewal of my website domain name when I was trying to transfer the domain to another registrar (company). They delayed the process until they could charge me.First, I went into my account with NameCheap long before the auto renewal date and changed the settings to NOT have it auto renew yet they did it anyway. I reviewed this setting many times to verify it remained off.Second, before they did the auto renewal, I went into my NameCheap account and removed my bank card information from my saved accounts so that they would not be able to do the auto renewal yet they still did it anyway.Third, transferring a website domain, I was told would take 5-7 days. I requested the auth code to transfer my domain on March 11. If the transfer took the full 7 days it would have happened on the 18th. I was told by the other domain registrar that the auth code given by NameCheap was not valid. I requested a second auth code at that time. It too was not valid. I requested the auth code a third time and advised NameCheap that it was my third request. They finally sent me a valid code and the transfer went through the same day, in fact, almost immediately. The transfer should have been able to be completed before any renewal time had come up but I believe they stalled the process in order to charge my account EVEN THOUGH I had removed my bank card from their system. They should not charge me for the renewal or any additional fees. They should never have charged me the renewal. I did everything I could on my end to stop this from happening. Removing my auto renewal setting and removing my bank card from my account should have let my account cancel on its own at the end of it's term.Initial Complaint

Namecheap is a registrar for internet sites. Their registrants have been spamming me, up to fifty each day. I have sent namecheap information, and I have submitted the "tickets" they ask for. All I get is hundreds more spams, from namecheap's registrants-different ones, but all from registrants of namecheap.Initial Complaint

Namecheap is a domain host and registrar of websites. On March 2, 2023, I purchased a domain transfer of my personal website to Namecheap. I did so based on their advertisement of providing customers with both private email and email forwarding. Later on March 2, I encountered issues with using mail forwarding along with my private email. I also discovered their "alias" feature to be nonfunctional. I contacted customer support and was told that they force customers to PICK between private email and mail forwarding. This is contrary to their advertisement and is patent misrepresentation. I asked that they release my domain for transfer out. I was strung along, argued with, and ignored. Not being able to access email hurt my livelihood and caused damage.I contacted PayPal to file a dispute and PayPal simply refunded the transfer price. Namecheap told me to "be patient" while they investigated. Then they locked my account citing the reversed payment, telling me that their ToS make transfer fees nonrefundable even in the event of misrepresentation, contrary to any standing principle of law. They also assessed a fee for the reversal.I have refused to pay their increasing sums and they have refused to unlock my account.Initial Complaint

I purchased one year of domain name service from NameCheap, which was paid in full in February 2022. On February 18, 2023 they emailed me stating they would automatically renew my service for another year, unless I went online and cancelled the service. I did go on their site ( on the following day 2/19) and requested my account NOT to renew the service. However, I noticed on my credit card statement that they still charged me for the service. I disputed the charge with my credit card company (on 2/22), which resulted in NameCheap emailing me threatening to charge me additional fees for the chargeback. I explained to them the situation that occurred, and they just continue threatening me with fines. They are not trying to resolve the issue, and are only threatening me. Therefore, I am submitting this complaint with the BBB.Initial Complaint

Dear ***/*****,I would like to bring to your attention the irresponsible response provided by the *** provider Namecheap. Please note that this company is targeted by many complaints as hackers/scammers are using their platform to create domains in order to perform their illegal hackings/scamming. However, no significant action against them has been undertaken so far by any government authorities. The black hats/scammers love to use Namecheap providers since they are accepting Bitcoins/cryptocurrency as payment from Sep 2020 onwards. Moreover, it is cheap and can be registered anonymously.Their irresponsible response towards the victims clearly demonstrates that they are not seriously taking ownership of the scam originating from their platform. The public suffers because of the total lack of vigilance/care of the Namecheap team. They are under the government regulations/legal obligation to combat any cybersecurity crime; they do not seem to have that predisposition in my case. This behavior is in line with the negative reviews. They indicate that the incidents originating from their platform are worsening day by day and are prejudicing more and more people.FYI:I would like to get some guidance for an email phishing incident. I have contacted the *** provider Namecheap. I did ask them to provide me with the country name for which the *** record was created in order for me to set up a monitoring probe on the traffic coming from this country as it will help me to be extra vigilant in case of future attacks. The hacker used the Namecheap domain for this email phishing activity.Namecheap has the responsibility to provide all the required information while complying with Privacy laws. In this case, Namecheap is refusing to release the country name while this is not covered by any of the Privacy laws. If it does, then they should have presented with facts. They are not even letting me know what their legal process is to obtain these details. Please see below the reply from Namecheap, very raw and they didnt even bother to answer with facts having the level of details that I provided them. Many people are extremely prejudiced because of their lack of ethics, as Namecheap is not taking seriously this type of incident and simply send statements without referring to any facts. I would like to escalate this matter regarding this company, I would sincerely appreciate it if the BBB could take a step forward toward Namecheap business as usual handling. Yours faithfully,******************************************-18146168
