I have been trying to cancel my Namecheap subscription since June (currently October). I haven't used their service in over a year. I have been passed from department to department and have been ignored while being repeatedly billed. When I stopped payment, Namecheaps risk management team reached out with a threatening email about my delinquency. Every agent that reaches out is another layer of subterfuge, not resolving my problem and kicking the can down another billing cycle.Initial Complaint

The situation is as follows:Name Cheap has repeatedly allowed individuals to open domains without verification for the purpose of purpetuating scams. In this case a spear phishing scheme. Below is a summary of what has occured.1.Perpetrator gained access to a client of mine Unipetllc.com, specifically ***************** emails. ***************** 2.After I shut this individual(s) off from ***************** they opened UNLPETLLC.COM with namecheap.com.3.I provided the [email protected] team with email headers and many documents to validate that UNLPETLLC.COM was fraudulent ticket #URH-859-43267 4.Name Cheap abuse responded by shutting down UNLPETLLC.COM 5.Next same individual(s) opened UNLPETLLC.ORG and continued to imitate ***************** from unipetllc.com 6.I informed your team with additional email headers and even country of origin of messages sent. I matched them against ICANNs registration between UNLPETLLC.COM and UNLPETLLC.ORG before individual(s) redacted all info for privacy using NAME CHEAP services and permission without verification to accomplish this.7.I opened a new ticket [#HCS-315-57138] to ensure there was no weird gap Name Cheap's understanding. Additionally provided information email chains of faked emails attempting to get UNIPETLLC.com customers to send invoices via a new ACH method. Customers repeatedly recognized that this was not actually ***************** and forwarded their emails as attachments. Sent more email-chains gathered, proving my claims.8.Repeatedly [email protected] replied that the issue was closed without reading, investigating, or addressing the issue in any way.9.I again contacted the *** IC3 division and gave additional information.10.Additional fraud attempts continue with UNIPETLLC.COM customers asking for ACH [email protected] (their Legal and ********************** have been rude, dismissive, lazy, and permissive enablers of fraud.Initial Complaint

My debit card was charged $30.00 (3) times by namecheap.com. The dates are 8/1/22, 8/31/22, & 10/3/22. We never heard of this company and never authorized these. I contacted them and was told to file a ticket, which I did on 10/7/22, for Unauthorized charge. Ticket ID: *************. They replied "The charge inquestion stands for automatic renewal of ****** Workspace subscription for the domain name q-railing.com. We did purchase items for q-railing six times (none on the dates of the charges). I contacted q-railing and they have no idea what this is. They did not charge us and do not use namecheap.com for their domain. I want a refund and to shut this company down! There are numerous complaints here on the BBB!Initial Complaint

Recently my husband and I inherited a business due to the previous owner passing (it was a very weird situation). The business is associated with a website produced by Namecheap. I have reached out to Namecheap with proof of ownership, and supplied them with all the information I had regarding the previous account holder in efforts to get them to shut down the website as we are changing domain companies and since the previous owner passed away, we do not have his login information or access to his Namecheap account. They site this as the reason for not shutting down the website. This is hurting our business as the information on the website they carry is incorrect and offering services that we do not provide. I have sent multiple emails to them to try and resolve this issue and they continue to drag out the situation. This is inappropriate business practice and should not be allowed. I have provided them with proof of the transfer of ownership and they will not comply. Other companies should be aware of how they practice and that they are unwilling to work with people in our situation. I have attached proof of ownership of the company.Initial Complaint

An account was made for me on behalf of a different website I was a member of that I did not apply for. Namecheap sent an email saying I would be charged for the yearly auto renewal to me (this was when I was made aware of this account) on September 15, 2022. I tried to cancel the auto renewal to my credit card but their automated service to cancel auto renewal has been down every time I try. I get a Server 500 error every single time. I contacted their customer service department on Sept 15 and they said they cancelled the auto renewal. On Sept 30 I received another email saying the auto renewal was active, so I emailed them again and they are refusing to acknowledge my request to cancel the auto renewal. They kept telling me it was closed, and keep asking me "please let us know whether you mean that you did not want auto-renew." I do not trust that they have done this because I keep receiving automated emails saying otherwise. I keep responding to them I do not want the service. I never set up this service. I do not want auto renewal. I do not want an account with them. They keep responding back with the same question "please let us know whether you mean that you did not want auto-renew."I informed them that if they charged me unlawfully I would be requesting a chargeback from my credit card and contacting the fraud department.Initial Complaint
