I have an account with ********************** where I have registered a domain name recently. Today I purchased two others using an **************** card. About an hour after I purchased the domains namecheap locked me out of my account as they suspected fraud. They instructed me to log in to my card card company, find the 'payment descriptor' and provide it to namecheap. This would resolve their fraud concerns. I have both checked my **************** account online and spoken to their customer service on the phone. They do not provide this information to card holders. They did provide a phone number for namecheap which I called but cannot reach anybody. I left a msg Using namecheap's customer service chat, I was told that their risk management team does not take calls and essentially that they will not help me without the information they requested. They also asked me for the information on my account but I'm not sure whether it's in my name or my business partners. This did not help their fraud concerns and basically have locked me out of my legitimate purchases and website with no avenue to resolve it.

Frustrating Experience with Namecheap **************** I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with Namecheap's customer service. My experience has been incredibly frustrating, particularly when it comes to canceling services. Despite my attempts to reach out for assistance, my concerns have been consistently ignored.I have tried to cancel my services multiple times, but instead of receiving confirmation or support, I continue to be billed. This lack of responsiveness is unacceptable and has caused me significant inconvenience. It feels as though there is no clear process for addressing customer concerns, and the support team makes it nearly impossible to get the help I need.

!!! IMPORTANT NOTE ON ADDRESS !!!My actual country of residence is ******. I was forced to provide a US address (***************) in the form above solely because your system would not accept a valid Russian postal code. This is a technical issue on BBB's website. My real address is **********************. This does not change the facts of my complaint.THE COMPLAINT:On August 29, 2025, I paid $166.61 in Bitcoin to Namecheap for a VPS server and domain name (Order #*********). During the checkout process, I explicitly selected "Russia" as my country, and their system accepted my payment without any warnings. After taking my money, Namecheap unilaterally canceled my order and blocked my account. They stated the reason was their policy to not provide services to users in ****** due to the political situation. They refused to refund my money, falsely claiming that "Bitcoin payments are non-refundable".This is a clear case of deceptive practice and fraud. Namecheap:Knowingly accepted payment from a customer in ****** (my country was clearly stated at checkout).Concealed their discriminatory policy until after the transaction was complete.Violated their own refund policy, which states that a refund must be issued in case of service denial. Are now unlawfully withholding my funds for a service they refused to provide.I have already contacted Namecheap multiple times, but they refuse to honor their own terms and return my money. The transaction was made in Bitcoin from my wallet address: bc1qgk0hh4n4d7nkzaerakesjzwjs9l94rhqsvcrca.DESIRED RESOLUTION:I demand a full refund of $166.61 to be sent back to my Bitcoin wallet address: bc1qgk0hh4n4d7nkzaerakesjzwjs9l94rhqsvcrca.

NameCheap.com decided they were going to shut down my entire account on the FIRST day that I purchased a domain from them for "Security Reasons" LOL. I PURCHASED a domain and they decided to randomly lock my account for NO REASON. The domain is LITERALLY for a MINECRAFT SERVER. So I guess that is the "standard" for today. I purchase something -> I'm trying to configure it for my Minecraft Server -> Account locked and literally cannot do anything until its unlocked. LOL. I have over 200 ACTIVE members, and NOW, since namecheap.com decided to s**** me over, the server is down and will be down until they give me access to SOMETHING I SPENT MONEY ON.

My business has a subscription with NameCheap's ********************* The amount of spam emails has been out of control. I contacted customer service and I have followed the time consuming task of adding emails to their Jellyfish blocking platform but it does not help. Marking the dozens of emails daily as spam is not a solution neither. I created an alias as a test to confirm that NameCheap's Private Email is NOT secure. The new alias has not been shared or published anywhere and I already started to receive the same kind of spam emails. I contacted Namecheap customer support again to request a practical solution or a refund and their policy indicated there is no refund. Something like this has huge implications for a small business and it should be investigated.

On August 14, 2025 attempted to register the domain ************* via Namecheap. It was listed as available at $32.98/year, and I selected a 10-year term, totaling $329.80. My card was charged, and I received confirmation.Shortly after, I was refunded without warning. The only explanation given was that the domain was not available. However, the domain remains listed as available at the same $32.98/year price, even now. This raises serious concerns:Why was I charged and refunded with no clear reason? If the price was a mistake, why is it still listed? Why wasnt I offered the correct premium price if that was the issue? This appears to be bait-and-switch behavior: offering a product, taking payment, then canceling without honoring the sale while continuing to advertise it the same way.I am requesting:A clear explanation from Namecheap The ability to purchase the domain at the price originally charged Transparency on why the domain is still listed at that rate I have saved screenshots, transaction records, and their refund message.Thank you for reviewing this matter.Sincerely,***** ******** **************** ************ August 14, 2025

Namecheap enabled 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) on my account. After changing phones, I needed to reset 2FA to regain access. This has turned into a multi-day ordeal involving at least 8 separate chat sessions with different representatives. Each time I contacted support:They insisted on sending a verification email, but the emails never arrived despite my addresses (Gmail and ***) being active and previously used for successful communication with Namecheap.I requested alternative verification methods for example, sending a code via text to my registered phone number but was repeatedly told this was not possible.I submitted a government-issued ID and facial scan through their verification process. The system confirmed it was successful, but the representative still did not accept it.Calls from Namecheap went to voicemail due to my phone blocking unknown numbers; once I disabled that block, they still would not call me back directly and instead transferred me to other agents, forcing me to start ******* last interaction ended with the representative saying the matter could only be handled by an email-only department, but since I am not receiving emails from Namecheap, this made resolution impossible.Impact:I have been locked out of my account for multiple ******* website and domains are at risk of downtime. This has cost me both time and money.

I'm writing this report today to learn about the unfair treatment Namecheap **** is treating me with. Namecheap **** is a domain registrar. I had eight domains registered with this company. On June 14, 2025, I visited the site and added one more domain (*************************), bringing my total to nine. However, on the day I added the new domain, I noticed something strange: someone had accessed the site I was logged in to and was constantly changing the Privacy Act. I had changed all my domains to public, so my name would be visible, but someone was constantly changing the Privacy Act, preventing ***** from seeing my name. I suspect someone at the company must have accessed my account in this way. How else could they have accessed the same page I was logged in to and changed the information in my domain account? They also changed my email address, making my email unavailable. This illegal activity continued. After that, I tried to log in to verify my account on July 31-Aug 3, 2025, but the company kept blocking me from logging in, saying that they were investigating my account, and they disabled my ID.This company is a reseller. I've repeatedly requested permission to log in, but they refuse to accept my request and block me from logging in, citing ongoing investigation. Isn't this illegal? . Blocking a customer who registered nine domains from logging in and then continuously changing their domain information is illegal. the information (email address, etc.) on other domains had changed, requiring me to re-adjust it. But the bigger problem is that they tried to block my information from being seen by ***** by putting in place a privacy act that I didn't even ask for, and now they've blocked me from logging in, so I can't even get into my account.I want to transfer my domains to another company. I'm reporting this company's unfair practices. I believe it's illegal for them to block customers from logging in with such absurd excuses. please solve.

On July 24, 2025, I attempted to renew two of my domain names through Namecheap. The renewal process was extremely frustrating due to technical issues and a broken checkout system that prevented me from updating my payment method.Despite following all instructions and spending over an hour on live chat with multiple agents, I was unable to select my updated credit card during checkout. The website repeatedly defaulted to an outdated card and showed error messages like unable to process request and payment failed. I never received a successful confirmation of payment.Eventually, my website came back online, and I asked support whether that meant the renewal had gone through. Thats when I found out that I had been charged for multiple years of renewals, which I never authorized or confirmed. I was charged:$34.36 for one domain (for 2 years)$51.54 for another domain (for 3 years)Total: $85.90, of which $51.54 was completely unauthorized. I only intended to renew each domain for 1 year.Even though I was actively in live chat trying to resolve their system error at the time, Namecheap refused to issue a refund, citing a policy that canceled renewals would push domains into forced redemption and incur an additional $70 fee per domain. I was never warned of this before or during the transaction attempts. This situation is unacceptable. I did everything in good faith and followed all steps given by support while their system failed repeatedly. The extra years and charges were never confirmed by me, and I was misled into thinking the transactions had failed.Resolution Sought:I am requesting a refund of $51.54 for the unauthorized renewal charges. I never agreed to multiple-year renewals, was given no confirmation, and was actively troubleshooting the issue with support while these charges occurred. This was caused by Namecheaps faulty checkout system, not customer error.
