I received a notification by email on 12/3/23 at 10:45 PM stating that my AutoRenew for domain names registered on my account would process on 12/4/23. At 11:25 PM on 12/3/23, I cancelled my auto renew function. These times were given to me by NameCheap in an email dialogue. The problem is that Name Cheap charged me for the renewal at 10:45 PM on 12/3, before the agreed upon date of my renewal (12/4/23). They state that they charged me at 1:45 AM, but the registered address of the domains was in pacific time (this is displayed clearly on the order form). This is clearly a time zone issue, but regardless Name Cheap charged me before the agreed upon renewal date (12/4) and I cancelled my subscription the day before the agreed upon date. The confirmation email of the transaction did not make it clear that a charge "had taken" place but rather, implied a charge "would take" place on 12/4, as was communicated in prior emails. The email states: "We're writing in regards to your domain(s) set to be auto-renewed with payment made from Credit Card **** " The confusing phrase is "set to be renewed" which to me implies a transaction will take place in the future, not that a transaction has already taken place.Thinking I had successfully cancelled the renewal (for obvious reasons considering I cancelled before the renewal date), I asked name cheap to delete my account and surrender the remaining time on the domain registration which in my mind meant I would be surrendering the remaining time on the current registration which was set to expire 1/4/24, not surrendering the transaction that unbeknownst to me had just taken place. NameCheap refuses to refund my order despite the clear mistake on their part by charging my card before 12/4/23. I have communicated the mistake clearly to them but they still refuse. I just want to be refunded due to my honest efforts to cancel on time and the mistake of charging me early.Initial Complaint

This business hosts a *** spam website which currently sends me 50 offensive *** spams EVERY DAY, has been sending them for 9 months. Average 70 spams a day for many months, some days as many a 150. Many of these spams contained viruses and malware, which were caught by Avast. I have been reporting ALL of these spams using Spamcop, usually taking 1 hour every day. But Namecheap just keeps sending them. The spams pretend they are replies to a "Dating Profile" that I supposedly posted. NOT TRUE! I have NEVER visited any of their **** websites, and NEVER signed up for ANYTHING from these bums. Someone must have sold them my Email address. I am 72 years old and married for 15 years.Initial Complaint

I have been trying to cancel this for the past several years. Even though I think I have cancelled it, I still wind up getting billed. I just received a charge again for a total of $14.88 on 11/27/23 I have sent several emails to this company to no avail. I received an email back saying that since it was an autorenewal , they would not refund. They then suggested that I log in and change the payment option so I don't get billed again?Apparently, this has happened to other people as I have found numerous comments online about it. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated ***************************Initial Complaint

For the past two weeks, I've been trying to Login to my Name Cheap account, to pay my bill for the domain, HappyMoonShoppe.com. I was able to login one time last week, on November 24, 2023 but was having weird login and platform issues. My credit card was rejected although I had sufficient credit and funds on my CapitalOne Credit Card. I have snapshots where I repeatedly keyed in my information but received an error. Then I was locked out of my account. When I tried to contact Help Desk support for whatever reason I couldnt get through. I have screenshots of all of this. I sent a few Tickets for Helpdesk to respond to my problems with their website. I then waited a few days and went back to the site on November 29, 2023. Using a different browser, from Safari which did not work well, to Firefox. I was able to contanct Help **** who said he could not help me and that I had get a Help Ticket for further assistance. He didnt inform me I had 2 accounts: HappyMoonShoppe and HappyMooonShoppe as UserNames, I finally did see this on my Apple Passwords. Each with different Login Credentials. However, while one had a 2-step verification, the other did not. Ticket : ZDE-540-*****, has failed to solve any problems. If anything, I feel like I've been given the run around which is waisting my time becasue my Domain is expiring by December 3, 2023! I have been trying to avoid this. I know I was late with upkeeping my domain ICANN information becasue I have been in graduate school and between homes and addresses during this time in my life. But I shouldn't have to be locked out of my account and business information. On November 29th in my Chat with *************************** insisted that Namecheap.com's *************** would help me with an ID verification as noted in writing in the chat. But none of the *************** staff has offered me this solution. Instead I am told to change my password, repeatedly. I am still locked out of my account.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

So tired of the poor service that Namecheap offers. I have been with them for over a decade and just hate the service I get anymore. I have been at this for over two hours and talked to 4 different reps all totally not helpful. *********************** was my last attempt and a guy who claimed he was in the *** department. Time to retrain people if they cannot get something done that is their sole job and purpose. I would have never started to host with you if this was going to be an issue. I have sites on SiteGround and I never have issues like I do with your servers. I have lost hours with stupid people that are your customer service.Initial Complaint

My server was stopped a week before its expired for no reason, and when I asked, it was said that it was an mistake on our part and **************.The server was activated again (they told me that but they create new one) , but without any files or configuration. Just opened the server I asked about my data, the sites, and everything, but it was said that work is underway to return it, and a link was sent to me with some files that were on the server, and the truth is that it does not affect anything at all. The data, files, pictures, and everything was lost.Yesterday, I was surprised that $71 was deducted from my balance for the server renewal, which I did not request and I did not choose automatic renewal either. when I back to them they told me that I have enabled the automatic renewal but it is a lie. Why did I choose this choice? How could there be problems between me and them and choose to continue with them?I had to close my card because I don't trust the company they use my card without tell me and get agree I have the email which I discuses the issue with them tell them to make refund for money and send the iban to they, return me they can't make refund for account only the card the take money of it. I need refund for the renew server without I ask for, and compensation not less than ****** $ to fact my lose *** Digital Solutions and ****************************** Eng. ******************** said CEO - ***********Initial Complaint

I set my domains to not renew. I am moving away from namecheap because they charge my card for stuff I didn't ask for.On this particular incident. I went in and turned off autorenew for lovestory.ink and passionate.ink because I don't need them. I'm a single mom living pay check to paycheck and they hit my card for ***** Now they want ***** in fees to cancel the charge. They have cost me ***** in overdrafts and because I don't get paid for 9 days I will be charged two more times so ****** + ***** for the domain.I asked them to cancel the charge and they said they would for ***** which is a scam.No domain company has ever charged me ***** for this. I accidentally bought a domain I didn't want from a2 hosting and talked to them and they canceled it and it didn't cost me a thing --they said you have 48 hours to cancel a domain with the registrar before it becomes active.Them charging ***** is a scam. I want my account refunded and I will not pay the 70 and I would like my overdraft charges.Initial Complaint

************************************************************************************************ Is the address to and of an ******** Service Provider that sells Top Level Domains a fraudulent business that has my name since **** and today together with my initials online due to a stolen identity since ****, TLDs, gTLDs, and NewgTLDs stand for something other on the ****** Browser and Engine Search Software designed to research and lookup information only based on everything online being true well these and others like ICANN.org, GitHub, GoDaddy, Name.com, IANA, etc are sellers of the Trojan horse security software database technology that uses virus technology and infects computers with malware adware Spyware phishing adhoc propaganda spam Freeware System Ware ransomware and other security threats that make financial capabilities and storage of real data on any computer or digital wireless device a critical software and download issue for brands and businesses around the World. Today I have been finding out more about the use of my name online especially because the initials TLD are mine and stand for *********************** since August 6, **** and I have no idea how to stop these mongers from using my name when theres no evidence that these fraudulent websites are using fraud due to seeing my name ************* being sold right now today and probably since 2006 online for money and it gets worse. NameCheap has the ability to give away not only real and fake or fraudulent websites with ip addresses using my name to people less educated and that want to find and ride a thrill once online alone on the internet but they are selling websites that go with and to illegal drugs as well like for instance this is one www.taradoveantichristheroinsuperstar.com, gay, is, us, cc, club, play, name, so, ********** ax, online, store, shop, bio, live, etc and I have found websites selling TaraLeighDoveHeroinMarijuanaCocaine.com, .net, .org, .live, .pro, .online etc before too like Name.com does in the list above. On 10/16 I went to namecheap.com to purchase a domain for a business I am in the process of starting. I chose this company as they are an affiliate link to the bookkeeping school I am training with. When I tried to access my new account with ********************, it was immediately flagged as suspicious activity and locked me out. As I can only contact this company through email, their excuses ranged from the security of their clients to suspicious activity to possible illegitimate payment. The charge -was- completed with my bank and the fraud division at my bank assured me that providing the order number of my purchase is more than enough to verify the legitimacy of my payment. They seem to refuse any and all proofs besides color photos of my personal ID which I refuse to share with this questionable company. I have requested a refund of my purchase as they refuse to ***** me access to my domain.
