FOR ALL WHO READ THIS: "FAREHUTZ" is a "SCAM" travel website. Be careful, they have become one of the choices you can choose from when you use travel websites that compare flight prices like: Trivago or KAYAK. I wasn't aware of this, and I saw many travel websites. In my case, FAREHUTZ was one of the cheapest flights, so I chose them. After going over all the details of my flight going to and from my destination, I was satisfied with the price, I bought their cancellation protection plan and booked my flight with my Credit card. Everything looked fine; and as I was looking up hotels in the area, I got a call from FAREHUTZ, saying there was a problem with my return flight, that the airline doesn't have the seats. I voiced my disappointment as I already had an itinerary emailed to me. They told me they could change my return date and find more seats for my wife and me, but it would be an additional $500. After voicing more of my disappointment, I decided to just cancel the flight and get my full refund. The Farehutz travel clerk said a refund was not possible, and they will try to find another flight from another airport close by. I again told them I wanted to cancel the flight and get my full refund. I told them I purchased the "Cancellation Protection" which guarantees a full refund withing 24 hrs. of booking. Since this was 30 min from the time I booked, I was clearly within the 24 hours. My wife and I argued with the FAREHURTZ travel clerk and then the Supervisor. Although the argument lasted over 40 min, they did not budge, they would transfer me to another clerk who would say the same thing. While this was happening, "I WENT TO MY BANK APP ON MY SMART PHONE AND LOCKED MY CREDIT CARD". I had my credit card locked while still arguing with them. So in the end, I was never charged, and they did not get my money. I have alerted my bank about this and have cancelled that credit card. As you can see, I'm also writing this story on BBB to further make sure this travel website doesn't SCAM anyone else. REMEMBER "FANHURTZ IS A SCAM TRAVEL WEBSITE"; if you run into situation a like mine, "LOCK YOUR CREDIT CARD" as fast as you can, so you won't get charged. Notify your bank and any fraudulent entity you know. Tell everyone about this scam travel website!!!

Farehutz poses as a travel agency on sites like travel.com. They offer discounted airline tickets. Nice “purchased” they email you saying you need to call them. On the call they say the flight is sold out and offer you a ridiculously upsold price (2-3x). When you ask to cancel the booking they claim the low fare means you can’t cancel. So you’re either stuck paying the extra or paying for a ticket you can’t use. I threatened legal action and used some valid legalese, and they eventually cancelled my booking. But only after 40 minutes on the phone in a blatant bait and switch. Put them out of business.

Online Purchase - Airline Ticket Scam

Was looking for a round trip from Colorado to Wisconsin. Farehutz.com had a ticket for a cheap air fare, though not so cheap as to be suspicious. So I bought what were described as airline e-tickets for what appeared to be United Airlines, using my credit card, name, and other personal info. I received an email shortly after that was not titled from a particular company, but was just labeled "support" with my supposed receipt on it. However, it was not even a receipt, but rather a notice of "booking in progress" with my supposed itinerary and booking i.d. on it. Concerned that my payment had not gone through as it was not an official receipt, I called them at their support number, and was informed that my ticket had somehow been bought out from under me, that the tickets I had purchased had been a "promotional offer" through the airline, and that because of that my ticket was neither guaranteed by the airline nor cancelable or refundable. The man then tried to upsell me, telling me that he could get me another flight for the same time and the same place for an extra $100. I told him I either needed an actual ticket or a refund, and he proceeded to argue with me that my credit card had already been charged and that the airline was still going to claim their funds. Turns out that my card had never been charged thankfully, but since they had that info anyway I cancelled my account for a new card just in case. They appear to be faking business with United Airlines, as the legitimate airline would never charge a customer and not deliver a ticket, and it would be cancelable within 24 hrs of purchase. The "United tickets" Farehutz is selling have what looks to be the United logo, but the image looks squashed and the colors are backwards.

CAUTION: FRAUD from FAREHUTZ with fake cheap non-refundable reservations This is a fraud alert regarding fake non-refundable reservations from Farehutz (https://www.farehutz.us/) that are populating the major search engines (like skyfarefinder.com). After you fill in your credit card details, they call you back with fake stories that part of your reservation is not confirmed but you also cannot cancel it because is non-refundable. After this they impose their “help” with a price that is several times higher, otherwise you lose all the money paid for the reservation. Even if I said that I am cancelling my credit card so they cannot charge it, the reply was that the United Airlines already charged my credit card and this cannot be refunded. This was another brutal lie - obviously the airline could not charge my credit card for a non-existing fake reservation. Even a week later if I am trying to buy air tickets for the same itinerary, the same fake reservations from Farehutz (they said are not confirmed and not available, but also non-refundable) are coming at the top of the searching list. The entire phonecall and conversation is then based on wicked lies and fake stories that their computer-generated fake reservations are not confirmed and also cannot be cancelled (even though they are fakes from the very beginning). Even though they might have same small print on their web-site to keep them out of jail while they continue fooling the travelers, they still cannot populate the major flight search engines with computer generated fake reservations, then to claim these are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled and charge the victims several prices. It also becomes impossible to separate fake from real reservations and someone needs to stop this. As I can see, despite existing complaints and various agencies contacting them, no actions are taken and the fraud continues. https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/commerce/profile/travel-services/farehuts-1216-1647059

Bait and switch operation on flights. My daughter booked a flight through Farehutz and received a conformation email, a few minutes later she received a phone call saying the flight had been cancelled and would have to be booked at a higher cost. She tried to cancel it and they denied her, then they charged her debit card $120.00 and no flights! She then went on American Airlines to book the flight through them and got a confirmation email, Farehutz then cancelled the reservations she made saying all flights were booked and they needed more money!

Online Purchase - Farehutz.us

On July 3, 2024, I looked for a round-trip flight from Honolulu, Hawaii to Orlando, Florida for 3 adults through Trivago. On the Trivago website, it listed the best price from Farehutz.us. I booked the flights through Farehutz.us and minutes later at 5:04 pm I received an email stating my booking was in progress. At 5:14 pm I received a text message asking me to call Farehutz at 1-866-503-8818 to complete my reservations. Calling the number, I was informed, that only our return flight to Honolulu was confirmed and our outbound flight to Orlando was sold out, so we need to pay an additional fee of $300+ for an upgrade to confirm an outbound flight. I asked for a refund and the agent, supervisor Adrian, said the return flight had been charged to my credit card and the flight had been booked and confirmed by United Airlines, so no refund could be made, but, if I paid the additional $300+ upgrade fee he could confirm the outbound flight. I checked with my credit card company and United Airlines; neither company could verify the charges or booking. This led me to believe Farehutz is a "BAIT AND SWITCH" company. I'm still waiting to see if my credit card will be charged for the round-trip reservation.

At around 2 a.m. on April 13, I searched for air tickets on the Cheap Flights APP and selected two round-trip tickets. The platform transferred my purchase to a third-party website www.farehutz.us and I paid $2802.59. I bought two tickets and received a call around 14:00 from someone claiming to be a Farehutz employee. The number is 8665038818. He told me they did not have tickets at this price and gave me several options to change my ticket, each needed an extra fee of more than $2,000. The price is too high. I couldn't afford it, but they could neither give me the tickets at the original price they offered nor agree to a refund. They said that the price change was non-refundable. But the price was the most important flight detail. I should have received a 100% refund when the flight details were changed. They required me to accept such a large raise or I would lose the nearly three thousand dollars I had paid.

I recently encountered what I believe to be a fraudulent situation involving the websites Triplinetour and Farehutz. The incident unfolded when I was redirected from Triplinetour to Farehutz under the impression of securing flight tickets at prices notably lower than those on the official airline websites. Motivated by this offer, I proceeded with booking a ticket through Farehutz. However, my concerns were raised the next day when Farehutz contacted me, stating that the flight I had booked was supposedly canceled. This information was in direct contradiction with the airline's official website, where the flight was listed as operating normally. My suspicion escalated after directly contacting the airline, where I learned that my personal information had been used for several flight bookings. This practice led to a strict policy where all tickets associated with repeated personal details were automatically canceled, preventing me from securing my intended flight. In an effort to resolve this situation, I approached Farehutz for clarification. Their response was disconcerting, insisting on a cancellation fee for the already 'canceled' flight and demanding extra charges for transferring to another flight. Realizing the likelihood of a scam, I promptly took measures to protect my financial interests, including the cancellation of my credit card. Despite this, the potential misuse of my personal information remains a deep concern. This report is submitted in the hope of raising awareness and preventing similar deceptive practices from affecting others. Advice on further protecting my personal information and addressing the distress and potential financial implications of this incident would be highly valued.
