      Apparently, which I didn't realize when signing up. I signed up for a 5 year plan. They didn't have me sign anything that I remember. That was 3 years ago. Weird that they didn't mention this 2 years ago when they called and asked if I would like to join the yearly plan a year after having their service. I called and cancelled the service two weeks ago. Sales pitch galore. Emphasize sales pitch. I don't know how many times the guy offered "are you sure". If I wasn't I wouldn't be calling to cancel. I even said with your sales pitch I am Definity sure. Any who. They said I would owe 90% of the 2 years that I have left. I told them just to cancel it, I would rather save 10% than waste it with calling again. I didn't say this but for real, do I wanna call back again and repeatedly say no thank you? f*** that, move along. So I told them no, just cancel me still. They said I will receive my final bill in 5 days in the mail, 2 weeks have gone by and I have just got the normal monthly bill. I'm going to dispute it because I will not pay for anything until I get the final bill. I said to cancel. I should only have one more bill left. I was fine with you before all this. But that kind of pushed me, stop with the over sales pitch and be a **** honest business. It goes farther. look at your f****** rating. you have 1 star, I can see why I moved, I no longer use it. The only reason I had it was for my grandpa who always had one and my mom said to do it for him to be nice.

      My system kept going off line was told a tech would come out .( yeah a yr later)! Still having issues. I called alder many ,many times to resolve the issues was told a whole lot off different things ! The last time I called I wanted to end the contract ( it was up ) I was informed that I had renewed my contract ( I did not !!l) *******.said yes you did I have a recording of you agreeing to he said I can email u that if you would like .I said sure I want to hear that .well never received that email ! I'm sick of this company! !

      Since I got Alder security system I been wanting to cancel. They told me I was on a 5 year contract. I couldnt believe I missed the part that said it was a 5 year contract when I sign. Long story short I been, I been waiting 5 years to cancel their services and now they are telling me that because I didnt send a whiten letter asking to cancel they auto renew my contract for another 3 years. How can they do this? That day that was in my original contract. How can I cancel them?

      If I could give this horrendous company ZERO stars I would. When I got my equipment, it didnt work in my house. Then when I had to move the motion sensor got stuck on my wall and took the sheet rock off. Mind you when the gentlemen was selling it to me, I asked him if it would take my sheet rock off, and he swore to me it wouldnt which was a LIE!!! The glass motion detectors got stuck on the window and wouldnt come off. When I called them to tell them, the lady yelled at me (how professional) telling me how I should have called them first before taking the equipment off. Said I should use alcohol and I did use that, and it still didnt work. I literally cancelled my membership. I had some family trouble and then got surgery and I couldnt send back the equipment fast enough which they never told me about the automatic reactivation until I called them asking about how to close the fire alarm. Apparently, they have an automatic reactivation fee and dont tell anyone. Now I am stuck with this horrendous security system that wont let me return their stuff or cancel unless I pay $3000 for something I have never used, nor has it worked. Oh, and if I dont want to cancel then I can transfer this broken piece of c*** to someone I know. Like if I dont want this how can I transfer it to someone else you evil scrum of earth! Before you asked I have talked to their technical people and their useless they know nothing and will resend you more equipment that doesnt work. I have never despised a company so much in my life I swear. This company is a huge SCAM!!!!! RUN!!!!!

      Beware of the business. They do not protect and they just want your money. I have tried to contact them and let them know that their security device was not working but refuse to send a tech out. Just wanted more money. I recently moved and they tried pushing the system on the new home buyers but once I explained how difficult and demanding the people are and they just want $100.00 a month for a none working security device, of course they don't want it. Alder decide to keep billing me when I don't even have it. We have a security system in our home so why pay for 2? They still call and harass for more money but this is a business that takes advantage of people. They do not protect. Stay away

      I have been trying to resolve an issue with cancellation of service on my mothers account since November 2022. She had not had service for over two years. The battery was supposed to be replace and she never received it. So she continued to pay monthly payments for two years. Her contract expired and this company automatically renewed her contract. In November of 2022. I was made aware of the situation and tried to cancel the contract. My mother was told that she had to pay the remaining $$ to cancel the service. She sent a letter and payment to ************ stating this was to pay off contract/Cancellation fees. Alder did not cancel contract. They used the money to pay monthly payments until contract was automatically renews again and then started deducting payments from checking account again. My mother was no longer living in the house. 95 years old with Dimentia. I tried to reconcile this with company to only get run around. I have spoken with numerous customer service people on many occasions and I filled out a cancellation form myself on behalf of my mother. I am still receiving statements for past due bill and current bills for service that was supposed to be canceled November 2022. My mother did not file a formal cancellation form, but I did in July 2023. I was told it would all be taken care of. I am still getting bills from them. My mother has passed away and I am not responsible for these payments. The only reason they have my name and information is because I called on her behalf when she first started having issues with them. They have threatened to turn over to third party collections agency. Why wasnt the contract cancelled in July 2023 when I sent the cancellation form? Please help!!

      The absolute worst option. Heart wrenching and truly depressing. You basically sign your life away with a 3 thousand dollar contract that they never truthfully disclose to you until you want to cancel and they make you pay THOUDANDS OF DOLLARS! The associates also don't care about you in the slightest. They say that "you signed the contract" and you have to pay. I feel like I was taken HUGE advantage of and convinced I needed something that I absolutely did not need and COULD NOT AFFORD. This company asks you SO MANY TIMES, "why don't you care for your safety? So your safety isn't important? You don't care about your home?". I moved to a new place and the representative took advantage of my fear, and DID NOT DISCLOSE THE TRUE COST OF THE SERVICES OR THE ***** OF CANCELATION. I was treated rudely TWO TIMES after waiting on the phone for a total of one hour between two associates. Don't fall into the trap. I am utterly depressed, broke, STILL scared, and now 3 thousand dollars in **** to a company that took advantage of me.

      Crooks! Thought I signed up for 2 years but they put me on a 60 month contract. Over 2 years in and I haven't even used the system for over a year. They raise their monthly charges with ever telling you. No matter what I try they won't let me out of the contract they tricked me into. Protect yourself and your family from these theives. They won't even refund you for the surprise fees of their "premium" plan. So tired of paying them every month just because they are greedy and I'm afraid that when contract is up they will renew without informing me. Tried canceling now but they won't until contract is almost done.

      I signed on with this security company on July 31st. 2023. They installed the doorbell camera, smoke alarm, and sensors the next day. They informed me that they would come back and install the cameras the following day. It is now October 2nd, 2023, and I still do not have the cameras. They have rescheduled service several times. I am currently scheduled to have them installed on October 19th. The equipment is faulty. The doorbell camera does not pick up the "human" when they come to the door sometimes or when a household member leaves. I have to charge it every month, even though the salesperson informed us that we would only need to charge it every 6 months. I called and emailed and wanted to cancel, but they informed me that I only had 3 days to cancel and therefore I would be liable for the full contract amount if I still wanted to cancel. I asked how I could have canceled in three days if I didn't have the equipment available to see if I wanted to keep it. Response was, " I'm sorry but you only have three days". I also told them that a contract is for services or goods between two parties and in this case, they were auto-drafting the fees, and I didn't have the equipment yet. They were in default of the contract. I want out of this contract! Does anyone know how to go about canceling a service that I still do not have, but am being charged for it? Please do not trust this company, they do not have your best interest at heart. I have been without cameras since August 1st, 2023, and do not feel safe especially at night with all the crime in my area. AVOID THIS COMPANY !!!
