If I could rate less than 1 star, I would. I notified Alder Security by telephone numerous times and by email in July 2024 that my sister (the contract holder) died in March 2023. I paid the account by **** each month until we removed her possessions and sold the house in June 2024. I never authorized automatic payments. I notified them by sending a death certificate (in 2023) and Letters of Administration (in 2024), they never closed the account. In a telephone call, they asked, "Can someone else takeover the account?" I told them, "NO! We sold the house." In the July 2024 email, I stated I do not authorize additional charges to my **** and once again requested they cancel the account. They continued charging my **** until July 2025. (I admit I was negligent in looking carefully at the charges on my monthly statements. Lesson learned.) I called Alder Security today, and the representative said, "There are two years remaining on the contract." MY SISTER IS DEAD. THE HOUSE WAS SOLD. THEY ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT A CONTRACT. I called **** and requested they block Alder Security from automatic charges to my account. This is unethical and seems like criminal behavior.

My mom was a client of Alder Security. She passed away March 8th 2024. In June 2024, they sent account to ***. I thought that I was done with them. Then in May of 2025 I see a charge on my bank account from **********************. Was told *** sent account back **********************. I sent a copy of the death certificate to Alder in April 2024. Seems like that would end my problem. No, problem persists. How can a company be so greedy and spiteful? I sent them emails from ADT showing that they were no longer moms security. Alder no longer has access to the account information. All lies, they have no idea how to run a honest, trustworthy and successful company!

Alder transferred my service to ADT In July 2024. I paid the account with *** in full in on 8/5/2024. Alder began calling me in May ****************************** then debited my bank amount twice without my consent!!! I no longer have an account with **********************. When I called Alder customer service, the representative told me that *** transferred the account back to them and it's an open account. When I asked if they would simply contact ADT and to verify that the account was paid in full an closed, they said NO! I had to call. I asked to speak with a manager several times and they refused. I then hung up and called ADT to verify the account was closed. The *** representative said YES it's closed and this is not the 1st time Alder did this! Alder is illegally debating my bank account and refused to assist or check the account in which they said was transferred to them from *** which the *** representative said is A LIE!!! If they continue with their illegal practices, I'll be contacting an attorney. I didn't have a problem with them until I didn't want their service!

My 81-year-old mother is currently locked into a deceptive 5-year contract with Alder, which was transferred to ADT as of May 2025. At the time she was convinced to sign this contract, she was 78 years old and completely unaware she was committing to such a long-term agreement. Alders salesperson assured her that cancellation would be simple if she no longer needed the service, which turned out to be untrue. Despite multiple attempts, Alder flatly refused to reduce her monthly rate or offer any flexibility, even after hearing her situation as a senior citizen on a fixed income. Its important to note that ADT sued Alder in 2019 for misleading and deceptive sales practicesa lawsuit that now feels especially relevant given our experience. The fact that Alder used such tactics on an elderly woman is deeply troubling and, in my opinion, unconscionable.I reached out to ADT after the contract was transferred, and to their credit, they immediately reduced the monthly rate by /$10 without any hassle. This was the first sign of compassion or fairness we had seen in over three years.Though Alder is now under ADT, I believe consumers deserve to know how this contract originated. My mother still has 18 months left on a service she neither needs nor wants, all because of aggressive and unethical sales practices. I am writing this review not just for my mother, but for every family trying to protect their elderly loved ones from being taken advantage of by companies like Alder.

Alder has over 1200 unresolved complaints, with more being filed daily. Their business practices are highly unethical. I have contacted the Texas attorney general and the consumer protection board. *** bought my account from ALDERS in 2024 and now ALDERS wants to reinstate my contract after a year, charging my account without authorization. The system purchased from Alder does not work and is incompatible with ADT's system.

Yes, same as all other reviews. My account was bought by *** and *** is unable to service my area. I was in the middle of trying to get Alder to service the cameras they put in with a large contract and they never fixed and then turned my acct over to ADT. Now Im having to go through trying to get a contract cancelled through *** that they had nothing to do with. The equipment I have is not compatible with ADT but in order to cancel they are suggesting that I pay a cancel fee from services we were having trouble with. This is so frustrating. Also, with ADT you have to be careful to not fall into one of the fraudulent numbers there is for their customer service on the web. What a nightmare!!!

Alder took advantage of me when I was just 18 and scammed me into a 6 year contract. I notified them of wanting to cancel after the end but then they transferred me to *** WITHOUT closing my account. ADT was helpful enough to cancel my account but I then get a call A YEAR LATER from Alder claiming I owe them $52. Mind you this balance was not there a year ago when I cancelled. Now I somehow have a balance of $188 without having ever receiving service after canceling a year ago. And they continue to attempt charges on my card on file (which I had removed yet they still have stored). THEY ARE A SCAM.
