1 starVivint is a scam! I wish I could leave 0 stars! ******** customer service. The equipment is not worth the price. Constantly goes offline, audio is terrible, glitches, etc. After canceling my service, they continued billing me. When I reached out to them about it, I had to pay for an additional 2 months of service after my initial request for them to cancel.Review fromLeo K

1 starVery dishonest sales and management people.1. Gave me 3 month of "free" trial but sent sales agreement with only 3 days to cancel without penalty and didn't want to make changes. So called "addendum" promissing 3 months free didn't have any sugnatures.2. Sales agent signed a contract for me, without my knowledge, when he had my phone in his hands, "helping" me to navigate sales agreement process. Said to me that I can sign next day when technician will come to show the equipment, answer my questions, then I can decide.3. Their bank ******* started sending me bills way before free of any charge term supposed to end.Luckily, I cancelled on third day, since they declined to change trial date in sales agreement to the date that was promissed. Equipment seems to be good but sales people cannot be trusted.Review fromMark A

1 starI just ***orted to the ************************* of *** the most irate experience I had with a ****** Representative. After 10 years of service and and would have been more but GREED stepped in!On November 24, 2024 at 7:50 a.m. my alarm starting going off and would not stop. I called them to come check the battery because it appeared drained. They ***lied NO, you need a new panel for ******! I said no just check the battery. They refused to send someone out! Each time I activated the system it would sound off. I had to leave my house unsecure for two weeks until I brought in a new company. I was livid and done with Vivint. That Monday 11/24/24 I called and told a *** to disconnect the service. She listened to me and then hung up! In the meantime I have a new service and have been paying it for three months now. I get a phone notice from ****** about a balance 2/7/24. I called them and on the phone with two different ***s trying to get me to let them install a new panel for free and lower my rate. I said NO, cancel this account as I told you back in November 2024. They leave you on hold forever with a SALES SCAM! They soon hung up. I called again and the same thing. They say calls are recorded, I don't believe it! They said they never got a call from me for account cancellation. I said you are lying! We can only cancel the account if you pay the ****** balance. I said NO! There should not be a balance because this is the 4th call to you about a cancelation that should have taken place already. We can only cancel if you pay! So they try and hold you hostage to the account and keep billing you even when you tell them to cancel it! They know you've cancelled it from the beginning but they claim they did not get a call from you to cancel the account. They got my neighbor across the street the same way. They paid ****** ****** for a new panel! I do not recommend them to anyone!Review fromKENNETH H

1 starI have been a customer for over 2 years after leaving ***. I love the camera and all the features associated with the company, except for one. Recently on Jan 27th 2025, my home was broken into and when it came to me being notified it only happened because the Police Officers rang my doorbell. Apparently all the systems had my new number listed but the one who needed it most DID NOT. So when they tried to call me to verify the situation the department called my old number and did not reach me. i cant understand how this would happen, at all. I have since called and complained to the company with no resolve. I have kids with special needs , one being deaf so this was crucial to my family's protection. The thieves broke in and only had enough time to take my computer work station but because i don't have a receipt i cant get it reimbursed. I demanded a tech come to my home immediately and to this day ( Feb 11th 2025) not a single tech has shown up. The one appt that gave me , even after i protested it , fell through and the tech got sick. Since then not a word from anyone in the companyReview fromRobert J

1 starWe were customers for 12 years, but our experience over the last year has been nothing short of frustrating. Many of our devices stopped working. When we called customer service in October 2024 to address these issues, we were informed that an upgrade was necessarybut this upgrade came with a mandatory five-year contract extension. Given our dissatisfaction we opted to cancel. However, we quickly learned that we were still locked into our previous five-year contract and would face hefty fees for early termination. Our contract was set to expire on December 4, yet Vivint refused to fix any of our malfunctioning equipment unless we agreed to renew for another five years. This meant we had to continue paying for their services for two months while using equipment that was not fully functional simply because we chose not to renew. On December 17, we called to cancel. What followed was a nightmare of stalled tactics: representatives repeatedly tried to talk us out of canceling, transferred us multiple times over an hour, and even hung up on us. Eventually, we were informed that cancellations had to be submitted in writing. We complied and they replied with it would take up to 30 days to process the cancellation. Despite following their cancellation procedure, Vivint continued to charge us. We have received numerous calls and messages attempting to bill us for January, even though our cancellation request was submitted in December. As of February 3, we were notified that we owe $52, yet when we try to check our account through their provided link, it simply states, "There is a problem with the account, call customer service to reactivate." *********************** practices feel deceptive and predatorymaking cancellation exceedingly difficult, refusing to provide adequate service without forcing customers into lengthy contract extensions, and continuing to charge after cancellation. In reality, they should be refunding us for the months they failed to provide fully functional services.Review fromAnita S

1 starOn May 11, 2024 someone from Vivint **** came by our home to sell us their alarm/monitoring service. I told our sale person that I did not want to sign up for a service that would lock me in for years. He told that once I paid the equipment off I could call and cancel the service. On January 30, 2025 I paid the balance for the equipment in the amount of $2,532.02. I called Vivint on 02/04/2025 requesting to have my monitoring service cancelled. We no longer need their service because there's always someone home and can not afford to pay $81.73 a month. By the way my contract said my monthly fee for service would be $76.47. I was told that I signed up for 60 months and could not cancel unless pay the 50% of what I would pay by the end of the 60 months. Please look below at the last sentence it clearly says "You are not required to pay an early termination fee if you pay upfront for the System or if you pay off all loans or retail installment contracts (including any loans with a third-party loan provider) used to purchase the System". I was told to get a lawyer by Vivint employee. 4.2 How you can terminate this agreement. During the Initial Term, you may terminate this agreement by paying Vivint an early termination fee. The early termination fee is 50% of the fees you would have paid Vivint over the remainder of the Initial Term. This fee is a liquidated damage and not a penalty. This amount is a reasonable estimate of the costs that Vivint incurs to provide you with the System and Services, which it would have recovered had you retained the Services over the entire Initial Term. If Vivint terminates this agreement during the Initial Term, you do not have to pay an early termination fee. You are not required to pay an early termination fee, even during the Initial Term, if you pay upfront for the System or if you pay off all loans or retail installment contracts (including any loans with a third-party loan provider) used to purchase the System.Review fromGeorgia J

2 starsGo with anyone else. I have been a customer since 2013. They constantly try to raise your monitoring rate. They gave me a new rate, but then said I agreed to a 24 month term. I immediately replied in writing that this was NOT what I agreed to. They would not rescind the offer and told me I had to call in if I wanted to contest the forced term. Typical call times for them are over 20 minutes and I told them I would NOT be calling and they did NOT have my approval to set a term. They ignored my rejection of the term requirement that was sent in writing. Additionally, after over 11 years of being a customer, they wanted to charge me almost full price to upgrade equipment that they no longer supported. No discount for a long time customer when they give discounts to new customers. There are better services out there. *** has a better plan and great customer service so look there. They have some great deals. I gave Vivint more than 1 star because they did provide service for me for over 11 years, so that takes them above a 1, but they are terrible so they still get essentially a "D" grade (2 stars).Review fromStephanie L

1 starAug 2024 we were approched by vivint sales person, they talked to us about the system but didnt tell me when i signed up that there would be a 5 year contract.. which is absurd.. They dont really go over anything with you they tell you just sign.. Then i got a bill for the equipment which was financed thru Fortiva and I got that bill and paid it in full .. So I was assuming that the equipment was paid in full.. I didnt find out different until i call to cancel my account and not use them anymore .. they said i have to pay the remaining equipment fee of 1600 I said I already paid for the equipment in full, they said no ma'am you were only approved for 4000 there is still ***************************************************************************************************** i can transfer but i dont want to transfer because there service has been crappy.. then if i did want to transfer there would be 150 to disconnect and 150 reconnect on top of 99 each for brand new thermostats because i would need to leave the current thermostats with the new owener of the property.. The new owner cant take over the account until the equipment is paid for .. this is ridiculous.. they would still get there **** money if she takes over the account .. becuase right now they are charging me 29 addtionally monthly charge for the equipment they took 1600 adn divided it up but if i cancel it has to be paid in full.. this is crazy and something needs to be done.. who has ************************ this day and time
