1 starMinus 10 if possible. We have had Vivint for 5 years. A salesman came to my daughter's home she told the salesman she could not afford it, he wanted to talk to her husband so he came back later. Her husband talked to them and before they left the had him in a contract and were installing stuff. He was told a $71.00 per month fee. But that evening they noticed the $71.00 + $500.00. They tried to stop it but no way to. They were never told about a $500.00 fee. They were told nothing out of pocket. Then Vivint said the equipment had to be removed before a refund would be issued, then ***** days wait. Still waiting and it has been 23 days since Vivint stole their money. It has caused their checking account to be overdrawn, and they are trying to feed 2 children and my daughter is pregnant. Needless to say I will cancel my service and blast them as much as possible. Poor customer service!Review fromJJ P

1 starThe apartment I lived in while my house was being built forced us to get Vivint and they have been stealing my money since July when i moved out. I called and canceled in July and at least 2 time after that to make sure my account was closed, but they have charged me twice now and refuse to give me any type of email confirmation that my accounts are closed, just reassuring me over the phone that everything is closed. I have just gotten my credit card company involved so hopefully they will stop stealing from me.Do not get Vivint for anything, they will steal from you.Review fromAnissa W

1 starStarting on Tuesday, September 20, two men started lurking around our neighborhood under the guise of trying to sign people up for Vivint, the security company. One was driving a white sedan with AZ plates. The second man used scare tactics in his pitch. They asked our neighbors personal information about the other neighbors including if their vehicles are always parked there. On Thursday, September 22, they became two men who began casing our neighborhood, documenting potential targets for future break-ins on their devices, according to ****** the Vivint Guy, and were at our neighbors house after 9:00 P.M. in full darkness, on our neighbors dark porch for at least five minutes. Another neighbor right across from us confronted him and asked him what he was doing and then told him he was calling the police, and Vivint man said do it before immediately running off. Later, upon a sheriff deputy supervisors advice, I called Vivint and to voice our concerns and file a complaint. At first I was given the run around but finally was connected to a non-local manager. He said he would see if he could connect us to a local manager in **************, CO. The local manager refused to let them give me a way to contact him. Obviously, this is not a security company I would trust my security to as they harass potential clients for days on end, repeatedly threaten break-ins as a sales tactic (as if THEY would do it to prove a point), pointedly ignore no trespassing/no solicitation signs, and, as there is no home office locally, must do business out of the back of a van. As of last night, September 24, they have now canvassed our street for the fifth day in a row even though all of our neighbors have repeatedly called law enforcement demanding that they stay away, even after repeating that demand last night that we dont want them here. ****** the Vivint Guy threatened, as he walked off, well see how you feel when your house gets broken into.Review fromTamika/Shane S

1 starI wish I didn't have to give a star, because Vivint is terrible. We're a military family and so accordingly we HAVE to move. Trying to get re-installation has taken me 2 months, 6 thirty minute+ calls, and 4 no call/text no shows. Still nothing installed! We will be doing everything in our power to get away from this company. Their customer service is an absolute joke.Review fromJ&D A

1 starThe home I purchased came with a Vivint system already installed by the previous owner. For the past few months, I considered activating the service. Upon visiting their website one time, I immediately started receiving spam emails from Vivint. This company uses an advertising network that looks for cookies already on users' browsers to identify and harvest the email addresses of anyone who visits their website in order to send unsolicited spam emails without you ever contacting the company.A few months later, I decided to give the company a call. The person who answered the phone quickly took my information, identified my system, and said someone could give me a call the same day to activate the system at a price of $49.99 per month. I agreed.About an hour later, I received a text message informing me that my system needed to be upgraded and that it would be 2 weeks before a technician could perform the needed service. Had this been explained earlier, I would not have proceeded. I informed the company that if a self-service option was not available, I would need to cancel.Next, I received a phone call where I reiterated my objections and again asked to cancel. After the call, the individual continued to badger me with text messages asking me why I wanted to cancel and repeating that the only way to proceed was to have a technician come and repair/replace the equipment. After I stopped replying, the representative sent a misleading message that implied an appointment could be rescheduled for "tomorrow." After I reluctantly agreed, she reversed and said someone would contact me to set up the appointment for 2 weeks later. When I said that I felt misled by her messages and would like to continue with the cancellation, she replied "I tried my best to help you and you just absolutely ignored it and pushed it to the side."The unprofessional actions and attitude of this employee reflect extremely poorly on a company that seems extremely desperate for business.Review fromHoward D

1 starMy family and I opened a Vivint account in 2016 after we were displeased with Adt. We were happy with the monthly price for vivint, and that it had a doorbell camera, as well as an outside Garage camera that shows day/night clearly. In 2020, we decided to add indoor cameras to our package. One of their installers came by and checked our current equipment. He told us that we needed a new Smart Hub in order for the indoor cameras to work well. He upgraded our entire system. Our doorbell camera, garage camera, and hub. We were told that we can pay for the new equipment with installments byway of ***************** in addition to our monthly service fee going up. We were okay with that. No problems or issues. It wasnt until we moved that I put our service on Hold in order to see where we would put it in our new residence. The problem arose when our new place did not have a doorbell hookup, nor a power outlet near the door for the smart hub. I then called Vivint to let them know that we are upset that we cannot hook up our system due to the home arrangement. The Service Rep I spoke with just informed me that we had to pay off the equipment, and then they can cancel our contract. We did that, as well as wrote the letter for cancellation. I received an emailed confirmation that stated they received everything and my cancellation would be reviewed. It wasnt until a moth and a half later, that I saw a service charge for the monthly service on my statement. I quickly called and spoke with a Service Rep. **** one, mind you, had a different story. He asked me to make a payment to pay-off the rest of the contract for service. I was taken back, and asked him what he was referring to. He told me that we signed a contract for a 60 month service plan. My wife and I signed no such thing. They are trying to hold a contract for Services not rendered over our head.Review fromTrella C.

1 starVivint is the worse security company ever. Vivint is a big rip off. They security system half work. I'm being over charge. I'm paying Vivint and the company who supply them the equipment. The sales guy who goes around the neighborhood, who promotes their company, never told me that I'll be making payments to, two parties. My bill is extremely high. I make a payment to Vivint and the company who provides them the equipment. I thought, I'll be making a payment to them only. There security system is all ways down. They continue to have problems with their security system. Right now my security system is down, but they received my payment for this Month of September. I will advise anyone to not use Vivint , they are not a good secure company to depend on to keep you and your family safe in your own home.
