      Multiple attempts to work with technicians and managers to address equipment issues. Customer service has been unable to address issues. Managers and customer loyalty made promises to me, for extending my contract to 5 years, and I've been met with increasing surprise charges that I was told I would not have. I even have the email from a manager to prove what he told me, and a recorded phone call reference for them. Many hours on the phone and unresolved issues after thousands of dollars invested in equipment. The latest issue this week has been the worst, in which I was promised a package upgrade and monitoring, that was supposedly completed financially, given promises and a setup time, only to be met with the technician telling me that the manager didn't include all of the equipment in my quote and that I would owe more money. That's after they "no called and no showed" for installation the day before. I waited 7.5 yesterday. When I called the number to cancel today after they surprise changed the terms, they told me customer loyalty is closed and I cannot cancel it except through them. So they extended my contract (email proof) but failed to deliver the goods and services promised, even with hours of managerial intervention attempting to help. I used to love Vivint, and I like their equipment. But the customer service has absolutely tanked, at least in my experience. I took screenshots of my hold time recently before they answered a technical call. I hung up at 20 minutes, emailed it to them, and never got a reply. I'm really disappointed at what has happened with my experience. I used to recommend them wholeheartedly. I can no longer do that. This is an ethical issue and I'm just disgusted with how they've treated me - a loyal customer of 7 years.

      Vivint makes it extremely difficult to cancel your account. I was on the telephone with two different representatives on July 18, 2025, repeatedly asking that my account be cancelled. Both reps ignored my request, talked over me and kept trying to sell me upgrades or settle for slight billing reductions over a limited time frame. When I threatened to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Bureau, the Better Business Bureau, and instruct my bank not to process any debits from Vivint after July 30, the second rep I spoke to FINALLY helped me. She first asked if I wanted to cancel my subscription verbally or in writing. She offered no explanation of the difference. I chose writing so I would have evidence I requested a cancellation on this day. The rep sent me an email that had some info prefilled. I had to provide my name, service address and account number (which I've never seen because billing has always been handled electronically via my credit card). I was also required to provide a reason for wanting to cancel my account (Vivint's monthly monitoring is FAR TOO EXPENSIVE, that's why). The fine print on the email informed me that my cancellation request would be handled "during the next 30 days" and my last bill would be prorated based on date I requested cancellation. I'm sure that means I will be partially billed for next month... wished I had requested my service be cancelled in late June!

      This company uses your credit card without authorization. I also tried to cancel my account on many times for them to keep billing me despite not having service at my new home for months. I paid my last bill in May and got a bill in July once I called to see why. They said it was not all the way completed and I have to pay more money. I dont even live at the old address anymore. This company is a scam I am still waiting for them to cancel my service.

      I am filing a formal complaint against Vivint Smart Home due to misleading sales practices, lack of disclosure, and unreasonable billing.I recently had Vivint security equipment installed at my home. From the very beginning, I was misled about the total cost and terms of service. I was quoted a much lower price during the sales process than what I was later billed. I was issued a copy of my contract but the cancellation disclosure page that was modified from 3 to 30 days for cancellation is not signed when it was clearly signed the day of the contract. Additionally, I also ended up having damages to my homes gutter that puts my house at risk for water damage. I reached out to Vivint to resolve these issues and request cancellation, only to be told I must pay the full $4000 for a system Ive only had for less than 30 days. I believe this is an unfair and unethical practice. I was not properly informed about my rights, was never given a chance to review the full agreement, and now Im being charged the full contract amount despite my immediate concerns and attempts to resolve the issue.I am requesting the following resolution:Immediate cancellation of the Vivint contract without penalty.Waiver of the full equipment cost due to misleading and non-transparent sales practices.Pickup and removal of the installed equipment.I would appreciate the BBBs assistance in resolving this matter.

      I was considering using this company for security and changed my mind. I cancelled everything before they came out to install any equipment or devices. The following weeks were nothing but harassment. Phone calls several times a day even after I told them I was no longer interested. I blocked numbers and then they called from other numbers. I finally screamed at them to take me off their call list, heres hoping they wont call again.

      I have been on the phone for over an hour and a half trying to get the service cancelled, I now must complete a form and give 30 days notice. This is the worst experience I have ever had.

      I had Vivint security for a few years after moving to a new neighborhood. The equipment worked for a few months and then became very laggy, sometimes notifying me many hours after a package was delivered that someone had been in my driveway. ***** didn't offer to fix my equipment but instead tried to sell me new equipment at my expense. After tolerating this for several years, I decided my neighborhood was safe enough that I didn't need to pay for a security system, so I called to cancel. They will only let you do it by phone, they are only available during regular business hours (when people like me are trying to work), and it took me 90 minutes on the phone to get them to cancel. Not 90 minutes on hold, 90 minutes of continuously talking to people who wouldn't listen to me. I was hung up on twice, spoke to 6 different people, and had to explain multiple times I wasn't interested in any offers, but all I got was sales pitches. They would not let me just cancel, I was forced to take an hour and a half out of my work day to free myself from their atrocious service.

      Very disappointing experience. The technicians lacked the necessary skills to resolve even basic issuesthey openly admitted they didnt know how to fix the problem and resorted to Googling solutions. Ultimately, they left without improving anything. The initial installation was poorly done, and we were sold equipment we didnt actually need. A supervisor had to step in when the original technician failed to complete the job, only to confirm the system was overbuilt and misconfigured. Despite all the errors on their part, the company refused to waive fees or offer any form of compensation. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

      This company does not respect or read any "No Soliciting" signs on private property. Today, they came up to my door and knocked and just said we're only providing information since our company is out in the area. To what information from a for profit company. Vivint should train their employee to understand the definition of "No Soliciting", simply put they have no understanding of that statement.

      Listen! Stay far away from this company. Took me forever to cancel them went through about 10 people. Finally got someone she was the only thing amazing about this company her name is *******. She should be CEO. But anyways finally got services canceled after trying and being transferred 10 times and holding for 5 hours. Then tech comes takes all the stuff out and my doorbell is not working and he saying he does not no how to fix it. PLEASE STAY AWAY JUST HORRIBLE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
