      i moved in december of 2023 to texas but i coulnt' activate vivint service it at the house i moved to because the previous tenants had vivant and they didn't move their service from that home.since then i am going through a divorce and during the separation the equipment was lost therefore we never were able to activate it at the new address in december of 2023 and then in separation equipment went missing so i've been paying for a service with you guys i have no access to use for the last almost two years but i cant login to fix payment deficiencies and im locked into a contract that i wasn't exactly aware of when i signed up so im just paying for a serice that i haven't and cant use for the last almost two years

      I was a Vivint customer but canceled my account in February 2025 due to ongoing issues. The equipment had not worked for over a year, and I was dissatisfied with the service and support.

      In June 2025, I contacted Vivint to ask about specials on new equipment or service. The representative said he would call me back the next day but never did, so I moved on with other companies.

      Several months later, I discovered Vivint had been billing my bank account for three months without my authorization. I never agreed to reactivate my account or approved recurring charges.

      On August 28, 2025, I contacted Vivint to dispute the charges and request cancellation and a refund. The supervisor I spoke with refused to assist, attempted to sell me additional services, and implied I was being dishonest. She said Vivint would review the June call and follow up, but I never heard back.

      My bank investigated and reversed the unauthorized charges. Since then, Vivint has continued to call me multiple times a day demanding payment for a balance I do not owe.

      On September 24, 2025, I spoke with Destie, a billing supervisor. He was polite and seemed willing to help, but after placing me on hold and transferring me to the cancellation department, I was left waiting 35 minutes before the call dropped. No one followed up.

      Concerns:

      1. Vivint reactivated my account and billed me without consent.


      2. Vivint has not taken responsibility for these charges.


      3. I continue to receive collection calls for a debt I do not owe.



      Requested Resolution:

      Remove any account or balance associated with my name.

      Provide written confirmation I have no obligations with Vivint.

      Stop all collection attempts and ensure nothing is reported to credit bureaus.


      This conduct is unauthorized billing and harassment and must be addressed promptly.

      4years ago I got scamed by a vivant rep that came to my home saying I could use the system for 30 days no and if I didn't like it I could return it and get my money back so I after having it for 4 days I didn't like it tried to return it but when I called vivant to return it they told me its was supposed to be for 3 days not 30 days. So now ive paid off my system and now I have vivant reps coming twice to my house to try to sell me another system and buy back the system which makes after I told them no the 1st time.

      The service was canceled due to Vivint being unable to provide adequate service. Manager stated that the service would be canceled due to Vivint being unable to provide the service and once equipment was pulled our account would be credited with nothing further owed on the account. Vivint has since come and pulled all of the equipment, however they have not canceled fees as promised (we have a phone recording stating this would be done). This has been an ongoing issue and needs to be fixed immediately as it is showing on our credit report with a balance.

      I just realized I am being charged for their services. Apparently when I switched service locations they extended the terms of my agreement. I did sign the document, but it was in a tiny phone and many pages long and I could not read it. I relied on what the rep told me, and this was not it.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      As discussed with the representative, the original term I signed up for was 3 years, not 5 as it said in the paperwork. I did not fully read the documentation as it was on a device and many pages long, I relied on the 3-year representation given by the representative at the time.

       

      I have already been paying for a year of service beyond what I understood to be the original term; and paying for yet more is unacceptable. At this point the contract needs to be cancelled immediately, all charges past the agreed 36 months refunded, and no negative reporting on my credit.

      July 1st Vivint opened a credit line in my name for $2700. Our verbal agreement was 92% off of all equipment getting installed and a handful of other promises. After reviewing the receipt, etc. I realized NONE of those promises were fulfilled. (Lifetime warranty, charges, equipment price, etc.) The only thing that was followed through on was the “buy-out” agreement from ADT. They gave me a prepaid card with the amount it costed to end my service with ADT for early cancellation.
      I have been calling the customer service line ever since, about 6 times - each time they are stating someone will call me back and they never do. I have provided them with camera footage of said sales rep. They have admitted that the sales rep was faulty and have lied about supervisors, etc. While they have literally admitted this, they still have been beating around the bush about giving me “a call back” and have not resolved this yet.

      I have disputed this with the credit bureau but at this point I am stuck. I am stuck even though this business has agreed they have done me wrong. I have taken my card off of file where I am able, but outside of that… I can not do anything but continue to call and repeat the cycle I am already on. They have millions of dollars in lawsuits for these same untrustworthy tactics/values - So I know I am not the only one. At the end of the day, I just want my money back (if that means my security system is taken..so be it) and my name to be wiped clean of this. It’s like all of their employees are in on this - I don’t understand why they have admitted this is wrong and have still not resolved it for me.

      I am rejecting this response because there has been no agreed resolution. They have taken partial accountability and I have received partial refund - Because this still did not meet the initial verbal agreement between the salesperson and I one the first day of Vivint and I’s partnership, that partial refund is now being re-investigated. I will be recieving a call on October 8th for the outcome of said re-investigation.

      I have given Vivint 7 days (October 12th) and on October 13th I will be escalating this further is they do not make this right.

      Equipment was installed August 9th that we did not originally agree to. The equipment was removed the next week and was informed a credit would be applied in 7 days. The equipment is over $700 that needs to be removed from my loan. When I call they say they are escalating, and it will be removed in 5 days. Nothing happens and they do not remove the equipment cost. Also, trying to get the exact dollar of the equipment is nearly impossible. They have told me that their department does not handle pricing. When you ask for the department to get pricing they just keep transferring to someone that cant help. I find it hard to believe that they do not know the price of the equipment that was removed. Not sure why this issue that seems very simple needs to be so difficult.

      I’ve been trying to cancel a service for 3 months. When I purchased the home surveillance equipment was not informed that after the equipment was paid off I would have to pay a monthly subscription fee. When called to cancel I was still being charged. It took 3 months for them to tell me that I couldn’t just say I wanted to cancel they have to send me an email to confirm the cancellation and another 30 days for it to actually be cancelled. In the meantime I’m still being charged $70 a month.

      I have spent over $10,000 with them in security equipment and monitoring. I have had my share of problems with the system not doing its job properly and the trouble shooting and fixing is a nightmare. However, this past week a man shot a gun at my children in my yard. The video footage on my system will not rewind or play even though it shows its there. After weeks of "troubleshooting" with Vivint and each person I speak gives me a different answer. They sent a tech to my house who moved my doorbell and left live wires hanging out of the front of my house, they then inform me "well sorry theres nothing we can do, maybe you should have called to make sure your equipment was working before this event". WHAT?!?! who says that!!? I asked for some kind of compensation for the issues and the amount of money I have poured into the system and the one time I need them they cant help me and their equipment failed. Now this perp shooting children gets to walk away because thier equipment, techs, and customer service is HORRIBLE?? I installed Vivint for this reason to protect my family and they cant even do that. I want my money back for all the times and years of headaches I paid them to protect my family and they didnt!!!! I asked the rep to cancel my service she stated "they are to busy in the cancellation department to get to you, Ill put you on a wait list and they will call you when they can" I still can not get anyone in that department to call me back to cancel my service or help me!

      Statement of Complaint

      In March 2025, a solicitor from Vivint Smart Home came to my residence offering home security services. During this visit, I was pressured into signing up for the Vivint Smart Home security system, despite clearly expressing multiple times that I was not interested in the service. The solicitor assured me that I could “give it a trial run” and would have 30 days to cancel if I chose not to continue.

      Within that period, I contacted Vivint to cancel and requested removal of their equipment, as I decided I did not want the service. However, I was informed by the customer service representative that my cancellation request was received “one day past the 30-day window,” and therefore would not be honored.

      Since then, I have experienced numerous issues with Vivint, including but not limited to:
      1. Delayed Installation – It took nearly four months for Vivint to complete installation of equipment, despite my repeated weekly calls requesting service.
      2. Billing Problems – I have been double-billed for both the service and the equipment, contrary to what was represented to me during the initial agreement.
      3. Unsuccessful Attempts to Cancel – I have made multiple attempts to cancel my service, but each call results in being transferred repeatedly without resolution or acknowledgment of my cancellation request.

      Due to these ongoing issues, including misrepresentation during the sales process, failure to provide timely installation, improper billing practices, and refusal to process my cancellation, I believe Vivint Smart Home has engaged in unfair and deceptive business practices.

During our communication, Vivint’s representative presented several options, including one that required Ms. ******* to submit specific documents for further review and assistance. However, Ms. ******* declined to provide the requested materials. 

      Should Ms. ******* choose to submit the documents, Vivint’s representative remains available to review them and offer further support. All previously discussed options also remain available to her.
