1 starI had a contract with Terminix in 2017-18 and they installed the termite bait traps around the outside of my house then. I was pleased with the service. I cancelled their service Sept 21, 2018. I called Terminix in November 2022 to set up an appointment to have my termite bait traps refilled. At that time I explicitly told the representative that I didnt want to start a new contract, I just wanted them to refill the existing bait stations one-time. Their representative said that would be OK and the charge would be $138.The Terminix technician came on Dec 12, 2022 and refilled the bait stations. He asked if he could spray inside the house and I said no, the inside did not need treatment. I only needed the bait stations refilled. I received the attached bill in January 2023 for $538 and immediately called their customer service. I explained that the 12/12/2022 service only included the bait station refill and that the tech did NOT perform a Liquid Spot Treatment as listed on the bill. The rep told me to take that charge off and only pay $138. I received another bill. I called Terminix at 9:30 AM on Feb 22, 2023 I explained that I had paid the previous bill and that I did NOT have a contract and I was not going to pay this new bill. The Terminix rep told me they understood and would make the adjustment.One hour later I received a call from a Terminix rep named ******* saying they could not make that adjustment, and that I had a monthly contract with Terminix. I explained the history and this rep said there was a cancellation fee. I explained I would not pay a cancellation fee because I did not have a contract. In all of the previous calls I was clear I did NOT want a contract, I wanted a one-time only service a filling the bait stations. At no time was I ever informed I was starting a new contract with a cancellation fee.Im greatly disappointed that Terminx is allowed to use fraudulent and deceitful business practices. ****************************************, **Terminix

1 starAs a first time homebuyer, the Terminix sales person who sold me my policy sold me a plan I did not need and was not truthful about the plan. I sold my home and had to continue to pay the plan (despite what the sales person told me. ****** learned). When I contacted Terminix I was told to either pay the plan in full or continue the payments and they would put a hold on the tech coming to spray.. but I would need to contact Terminix in February (five months later) to cancel my plan. I contacted in January just to make sure it was a February payment, then I was told someone would need to come back to the home to pull bait traps (I was not told this when I called to tell them I was selling the home and when the home sold). I informed them I no longer owned the home and was told the operator would contact the local branch and have them communicate with the new home owner (customers never talk to the local branch). One month later I got a notification about a tech making a visit. It was February, so I called again and went through my whole speech (the previous operator did not put notes or update the account) Long story short.. there are other pest services that take better care of customers than Terminix. The sales person obviously noticed a new nervous home owner. This has been my most expensive ****** as a first time homeowner.Terminix

1 starNo customer ******************** as to appointment scheduling, disregard customers requests to be home while service is being done. A -10 on rating. Multiple request to advance scheduling of service with no consideration as to availability. Do not recommend.Terminix

1 starIf I could put 0 stars on here I would. I called 2/10 to schedule an appointment to have someone come out about dealing with our pest control. I pay for this service monthly by the way. ******** service agent says well call you Monday (2/13) to confirm your appointment. No call all day so I call back later to schedule another appointment for Tuesday (2/14). No call no show for Tuesday appointment . I call back Wednesday (2/15) to make a complaint. The customer service agent says the complaint will guarantee that someone calls you back from the branch within 24 hours. I receive no call within 24 hours. Today I call back and the customer agent says well put you on the list for a Tuesday (2/21) appointment. So were just disregarding my original appointment and moving me further up the list. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!Terminix

1 starI found what i believed to be either a bat bug or a bed bug in my bathroom in early January and four more dead ones in the hallway near the bathroom. I tore the whole house apart paying special attention to the bedroom, where i found nothing (no dead bugs, shed skins, bloodstains, or bug ***** stains) No evidence in the bedroom whatsoever, which is strange since bed bugs feed on humans while they sleep. The inspector who came was a manager and identified the specimen as a bed bug immediately without using a magnifying glass, simply just using his iPad as a backdrop. He inspected the whole house and could not find anything but informed me that if i had found these dead ones, there were certainly more and we wouldnt know until we sprayed the house and i better act quick because the infestation can get out of hand quickly. The service was quoted at $2000 which seemed astronomical considering my house is **** sqft and not cluttered at all. The tech came and sprayed and found nothing but suggested that they may have been batbugs due to where they were found in the house and we literally have a bat box in our yard. He took two samples back with him for further analysis and told me he would give me a verdict. I reached out to the manager who did the initial inspection and he also assured me he would dig further and give me confirmation.As to what the bugs were. Neither have responded two weeks later and i have since spoken with 5 other managers who listen to my story and then transfer me to the next manager. I have been requesting my money back for several days now as ive given up on them being able to identify the pest for me, and i feel like i got scammed by a supposed reputable company, i would like to hire someone else at this point. I have never had such an issue with a contractor in my entire life, just completely unnecessary and a waste of everyones time.Terminix

1 starI bought a new home at the end of 2021, and in May 2022 I noticed some ********* ants running around. I contacted terminix and explained the problem, and they set me up for a service that they said would take care of it. A couple of weeks after my service I was still having issues with ********* ants. I reached out to the local office, who told me that of course I was still having that issue, the service I was signed up for was their standard service, and didnt cover ********* ants. I signed up for a very expensive ********* ant specific service and asked for the other service to be cancelled.The service did seem to work, however terminix would not cancel my other service. They started calling me daily at the end of October about a past due balance. I said I had asked for my service to be cancelled, and paid the balance, and asked again for my service to be cancelled. Instead of cancelling my service they.apparently sent out a tech to do an exterior treatment, and charged me again.In January the collection calls began again. I spoke with a representative, and explained the situation, and she told me she would file a **************. A week later the calls resumed, without any notification in regards to the status of the dispute. I spoke to another agent, who told met hat the dispute had been decided against me and terminix didnt care to notify me about the dispute, or discuss it with me. I asked for the situation to be escalated, and she said she would escalate it to a manager. I never heard anything from a manager, and the collection calls continued.I finally decided to just pay the past due balance and write it off as a terrible learning experience to NEVER work with terminix again. I feel I was scammed into getting a service I didnt need that didnt solve my problem, then they refused to cancel the service and kept sending techs for exterior services.This is fraudulent, and I am considering small claims litigation.Terminix

1 starExcessive Billing Issues! The general manager came to do initial inspection/ sign us up for the service (** we had issues scheduling the initial inspection & were going to use a alternate service). we were quoted a total price of $2,100. We were told that this would have to be partially financed. but that if interested, we could make payments in lump sums to pay off remainder early. we made an initial payment of $700. We noted payments were being charged to our credit card multiple times a month in different amounts. When we initially called to ask what each of the charges were, we asked for the remaining balance on the account (this was in our 3rd month of service; Oct/Nov/Dec & after making 2-3 larger payments toward the account) We were quoted approx $650 remaining. We called to following week to pay off balance & were told that the total to pay off was $756. we paid this balance off. The following week, another charge was made to our credit card. We called again (3rd call) to inquire about the charge & were told that we still had a monthly payment of approximately $37. This would be another $350 still owed on the account, We PAID OFF THIS BALANCE. The following week we received another charge for approx $70. When we called again, they stated that they didn't have the charge on their record & it wasn't in their system, even though we could see the charge on the card. After another call to speak with a manager, we found out it was a charge from the financing company & were told to call them. We did this & they assisted us with a 3-way call to try & figure any remaining balance We had a $300 credit on our terminix account but still owed approximately $1300 to the financing company? We spoke with the ** & were told that we just misunderstood when he initially signed us up. Even though we were told a different amount every time for 6 different phone calls. Not one rep told us about the extra $1300 we still "owed". We still have no resolution to the problem.Terminix

1 starWorst customer service, they rescheduled Tues. for Friday, but didn't tell me. Waited on Fri. called 3 times to confirm, they said the Inspector will call me when he's on the way, he never called, or showed up. Finally someone called me, and said he would lmk on Mon. I had to call twice to see if they were going to call, & a Mgr. told me that the mainland call center makes the appt, but it doesn't show up on the local computer. What an excuse!! FIX IT !! I've been with them over 20 years!! I guess time to change. You cannot get in touch with anyone locally.Terminix
