I ordered some plants from Fast Growing Trees in November of 2023, knowing they would not ship until spring of 2024. Order #********** for $314.40. I contacted them on May 7, 2025, because none of the plants they shipped come back this spring. I was trying to be nice and only take a warranty claim on the blue ***** plants, but now, I think the resolution is a full refund for everything. They refuse to warranty the plants, at first saying the one year warranty is one year from purchase date, which is winter, in *********. Then they changed their mind when I pointed out the lunacy of that policy, and said it is one year from the ship date, which was 4/28/24. So I missed the warranty period by a week, because they shipped plants to ********* a month before the average last frost date. The "customer service" **** ********* was **** and dismissive, and showed absolutely no desire to think for himself and clung to policy like it was the last thing he had in life. Wouldn't do business with them again if it meant curing cancer.

We are so sorry that your trees have perished and you were unable to get assistance with replacements. This order was placed on 11/28/2023. We do cover our plants under a 30 day guarantee and at the time of purchase our One Year Warranty was optional to add to the order at checkout. Our One Year warranty is valid for one year from the shipping date of the plants. This order shipped on 4/27/204 and the initial contact from the customer was made on 5/7/2025 so this would not be covered under our guarantee. Unfortunatly we do not extend refunds for nursery stock. We have attached our terms of service:

    Customer Answer

    Date: 05/14/2025

I am rejecting this response because: Your 30 day warranty would have expired before you ever shipped a product. Your one year warranty would have expired a month before plants can be put in the ground in **********

If you arent going to do business in an ethical way, such as not shipping plants before they can be planted, and then ending the warranty before it can possibly be known that the plants are going to come back, or not, then you should not ship plants to cold weather areas.

Your policy is unethical and dishonest.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/14/2025

We are so sorry, we are Unfortunatly unable to extend our warranty past a year from shipping and this order did not have the optional one year warranty added at checkout so it would have only been covered funder our 30 Day Alive and Thrive guarantee. since we sell perishable plants, we do not extend refunds outside of 30 day Arrive and Thrive guarantee.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 05/14/2025

I am rejecting this response because: Why do you keep voting your policy? No one asked you your policy. Your policy is unethical and dishonest.

Dont sell perishable goods to people in the winter, then, and dont ship them before they can be planted, so the warranty has actual value.

Theres no reason you need to behave like this, and you know it. You can change your policy, and you can make exceptions. Or, you can continue to be dishonest and unethical.

I placed an order with Fastgrowingtrees.com on 5/4/25 order number: ********** for 43 items in total. I had absolutely no reservations placing this order as the website states ****** Five Star Reviews, giving me full confidence in placing such a large order. Either the reviews on the website are not legitimate or I have had a one off experience with this company. My first package arrived on the day it was stated 5/10/25 - underwhelming at what I received is being polite. I basically feel like I have been ***** fooled and paid an exorbitant amount for containers of dirt. Dead plants, rotted plants (putrid smelling), stems of plant that are not healthy (plants I assumed would be full bloomed) The pictures are a million percent misleading on the website based on what actually arrived at my house, a one gallon container (not filled to this capacity as if i bought it at a nursery) but more so a clipping than what I got. I tried phoning the contact number to voice my concerns (and hold anymore deliveries arriving - return to sender in transit) this proved to be just as frustrating. Once an order is placed the only form of contact is through an online portal which you should expect to hear back in 72 hours. I am still waiting, it's close to 72 hours but I feel I need more support on this case. Clearly selling plants online and shipping to states away is not working well - I am so stressed over this whole situation. If returning was possible I would have done this the same day, in this instance I think it's more than fair to be asking for a refund for this order, rotted plants and piles of dirt are deemed not useable as intended purchase.

We are so sorry that your order arrived to you damaged. We have processed a full refund for this under our guarantee and you will get a confirmation email of this. Allow 3 to 5 business days for the refund to reflect back to your payment method on file.

I purchased to 2- 2 qt containers (1) Raspberry & (1) Blackberry **** on May 3rd. They arrived on Friday May 9th however I was gone away on a trip. When I got to work and opened up the box, the plants were broken, wilted and have some sort of disease on them. The box they were packages in was a very long box with nothinig inside to hold the plants in place. The plants were in horrible condition.

We have reached out and issued a one time courtesy refund for the two plants that arrived damaged. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for this to reflect back to your payment method on file

I ordered an orange tree for my mom for Mothers Day. She lives in ****, sc right near their location. I then noticed it was out for delivery in **********, ********* which is 3 hours away from her house. Tried contacting the company & all you can do is email them and wait 72 hours for a response. The address is in no way similar to the address they were supposed to ship it too. My mom is 9 hours from me. She lives in ****** live in **. So now my mom got nothing for Mothers Day. And after looking at their ******** it seems the people that actually did receive their trees received trees that were in horrible shape & nowhere near worth what they spent. I want my money back so I can buy one from a reputable company that has good customer service. It was my first time purchasing from ********* last! My grandma lived in ******* & always sent my mom oranges but she passed this last year so this tree was a very sentimental gift for Mothers Day. Absolutely unacceptable. I even emailed the company & verified the shipping address or ********************************** somehow sent it to *************************************************************************************.

Mind you these are 4-5 ft ********************* How can you fix 2 of these in the same box?? Called customer service again, ******************. I havent heard anything from them?? I placed an order on April 6, 2025 with a note that my order would ship within 1-2 days. The order took two weeks to ship and then was damaged in transit and returned to the sender. At that point I asked for a refund. The company claimed the order had been delivered. But the order was clearly returned to them and is well documented by *****. I have sent multiple requests for assistance and have not received a reply. I would like an explanation and refund.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/12/2025

We are so sorry for the delay in reply. We did offer to extend replacements on the 29th however I do see you replied requesting a full refund for your order. I checked the tracking and verified this was damaged by the shipper. We have issued a full refund for your order and you will get a confirmation email of this. Let us know if you need any additional assistance.

I was emailed letting me know the product I paid for is not available and I have responded many times and even called with the promise of a response from management and no one has responded after they promised this would be rectified by **** (manager) no later than May 2nd. I am without the 4-in-1 cherry tree. I was emailed letting me know the issue and I responded with my request for two (2) 6-7 foot 3-in-1 cherry trees. Due to my constant ignored emails I spoke with Ash who presented herself as a manager upon my request for a manager and only found out she lied. She emailed me on May 1st promising **** would email me to resolve my concerns and requests. At this point I want the 2 6-7 3-in-1 trees or a $800 credit for all the issues and delays this company has caused.

Placed an order on March 30, 2025 (order number **********) for various plants, one of which was an Eastern Redbud tree for $76.95 (total of plant with tax is $82.00.) Order received and the Redbud tree was dead. A claim (contact number *****) was submitted for the redbud and one other plant. The other plant issue was resolved. Redbud being dead was not. Another claim (contact number *****) issued on April 30, 2025 stating, again, the Eastern Redbud was dead and I would like a replacement. I was instead sent another plant that was in my original order, not an Eastern Redbud. I immediately submitted another claim (contact number *****) again requesting a replacement Eastern Redbud on May 5, 2025. As of this writing, I have received no response regarding my May 5 claim and they state their response time is within 72 hours. Photos showing the brown cambium layer of the redbud (proving it is, in fact, dead) were included with all three claims submitted to the company.

I placed an order for numerous plants and a tree for a total of $473.46 on 4/11/25, they were shipped on 4/19/25 and delivered on 4/22/25. The two boxes arrived attached together and were severely damaged. The boxes had been crushed and ripped open in spots. As a result, the plants and tree were damaged as well. I immediately filed a complaint through their website (as stated in their policy) and included pictures of the damage - Contact #*****. Two days ago, on 5/5/25, I filed another complaint - Contact # ***** and have heard nothing again forty eight hours later. I have requested a full refund. There is no way to reach a person in **************** on the phone so I have resorted to filing a BBB complaint.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/10/2025

Thank you for your patience and reply. I processed a full refund for your order as a one time exception. The lavender is still set to deliver on Monday. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for this refund to reflect back to your payment method on file. Let me know if you need any additional assistance.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 05/10/2025

I am rejecting this response because: The majority of the order was damaged and there were two plants that were not totally satisfactory because of the damage from shipping. I told the business that perhaps had they responded after my first contact or maybe even the second contact that I would have been more amenable to a solution. However because these plants have been sitting in their shipping pots waiting for a reply from them, they all are in unacceptable condition. Perhaps had I not had to resort to filing a complaint with the BBB, I would feel more confident that this company would be responsive if I was to "wait and see" if they would improve over the next year. At this point, I would not have any of these plants in my garden. I would like a total refund of $473.46. Thank you.

I bought 6 Ruby ****** Patio Peach Tree 2-3 ft.$124.95 each 6$749.70 and they didnt survive winter. They have one year warranty. Order Number:9502138528 Order Placed:Wed Apr 10 2024 Status:Fulfilled So when I called the company today at 4:30 PM Minnesota time the woman said that they changed the policy and they cannot give me a refund. They said they only want to replace the trees. I dont want to replace the trees because they were not in very good shape when they ship them to me, and I knew that they will not survive, but they told me whenI talk to the customer support last year to just give it a try and plant them, and I did that and they didnt survive so I want my money back, but they dont want to give me a refund. I believe that thats very poor business and they are showing me that they wanna steal my money.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/08/2025

We sincierly apologize that your peach trees did not make it. We understand how frustrating it can be to lose a plant after you have cared for it for some time. It does look like this order has the One Year Warranty on it. I reviewed this and it looks like Unfortunatly thee Ruby ******* Peach tree is best for zones 5 to 8 so Unfortunatly the ******* are too harsh for this tree to thrive. Planting trees outside of their recommended growing zone is not typically covered under our guarantee or One Year Warranty. With our One Year warranty, we do not issue refunds Unfortunatly and can extend a one time replacement if the customer covers shipping or store credit for the price paid for the plant on any eligible items that perish within a year from delivery.

As a one time exception I have processed a store credit for the price paid for the peach trees that will come to your inbox and can be used to place a new order online. If you need assistance in selecting the perfect plant, we would be happy to provide recommendations for your location.
