In September 2024, I purchased an Oklahoma Redbud tree from Brighter Blooms (dba Fast Growing Trees), including their one-year plant warranty. The tree arrived with signs of leaf fungus and failed to establish despite appropriate care. It ultimately died by ********* June 2025, I submitted a warranty claim and paid an additional $40.50 for shipping the replacement tree. Due to high summer temperatures, the company delayed shipping until September. When the replacement arrived on September 9, 2025, it was in worse condition than the original, showing widespread fungal spotting on the leaves. I have photographic documentation showing this.Customer service dismissed the issue as cosmetic and blamed overwatering, despite the tree not yet being planted or watered heavily. I have been a long-time customer of the company, but in this case, I have not been offered an acceptable remedy.Resolution Sought: I am requesting a full refund of the original purchase price of the Oklahoma Redbud tree ($240). The replacement tree is not healthy or viable, and I do not believe it should have been shipped in this condition.

We sincierly apologize that your replacement Redbud arrived in poor condition. We have followed up to provide additional assistance under our guarantee but please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

On May 12, 2025 I submitted a claim for the one-year guarantee on double-knockout rose bushes. I had purchased 36 bushes the previous September and only 5 survived. Their claim process includes sending photos of the plants. And their form allows for only 3 photos to be uploaded. I attached the photos and submitted the claim. As you can tell by the photos, the plants are clearly dead. After several days, I received an email requesting photos of all plants, and details of how I was watering them, what kind of soil I planted them in, etc. Unfortunately, by this time the dead plants had been removed from the garden bed and I could not take additional photos. I had already submitted photos based on the requirement of their policy and system. Further, in the past I had ordered a large quantity of fruit trees and all the peach trees arrived with insect holes in the leaves. They required only one photo in this instance and replaced all the affected trees. For this order, it seems as though they are going out of their way to avoid honoring their one-year guarantee. I am requesting that they honor their own policy and replace the 31 bushes that did not thrive.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/13/2025

We sincerely apologize that your roses did not make it and you had difficulties submitting your claim. Our claim form does only allow customers to attach 3 photos and we do require photos of each plant that has perished under our One Year Warranty policy. We did provide an email that you can forward additional photos to attach to your claim. Unfortunatly, without receiving photos of the 31 plants that have perished, we would be unable to honor the warranty for all 31 plants however, we can cover the plants from your initial claim and have sent a follow up email to provide assistance.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 09/13/2025

I am rejecting this response because: after submitting my warranty claim (that only allowed 3 photos to be attached), I followed up with their customer service department because I had not received a response. I was advised that they received my claim and they were processing it. They did not tell me they needed more photos until later, at which time the dead plants had already been removed.

In the past, I have had no issues with the few returns Ive had to make. I ordered an entire orchard worth of fruit trees from this company. Several of the peach trees arrived with insect-eaten leaves. They replaced them all and only asked for a single photo.

For some reason, they seem to be going out of their way to avoid fulfilling their warranty this time. I sincerely hope they decide to do the right thing and make good on their guarantee.

    Business Response

We sincerely apologize that you were unable to submit additional photos. This order shipped on 9/9/24 and the One Year Warranty is valid for 1 year from the order being shipped. From the correspondence, we did receive a claim on 5/12/25 where photos were provided of 3 of the plants. On 5/16 we also have correspondence via chat in which we provided an email address as well as a phone number to contact us for further assistance with the claim. On 5/21 we also recieved a follow up email stating photos would be sent that week. Unfortunatly we have not recieved additional photos and have sent a follow up email advising we can honor the warranty for the 3 plants that we recieved the initial claim for. We have not recieved a reply back from the cusomer. Unfortunatly, without photos of the additional plants, we would be unable to process a claim for all 36 plants on the order. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: My conversation with their customer service department was over the phone. When I reached out by phone to inquire about the status of my claim, they stated that they had the claim and did not tell me that I needed additional photos. This company used to have integrity. If you will not honor your own guarantee, I will pursue this with the *********************************. It saddens me that you're willing to lose a loyal customer over this.

I caution you to be extremely careful before spending your money with the Fast Growing Trees company. They did not wish to stand behind their warranty because they said I should have read their articles and not purchased trees that were out of my growing zone. Every one of my six trees died almost immediately. They were brown when they arrived at my home and I should have sent them back instead of trying to help them live. Even after requesting to speak to their management team, that conversation was useless so be careful where you put your money...I am highly DISSATIFIED with this company. My neighbors and friends have appreciated me letting them know. I am working to put the word out there to stay AWAY from the company Fast Growing Trees. Management was quick to tell me they have "too many customers" to let people know when a purchase is for the wrong area for successful growing. Instead they simply take your money. Sad but true.

We sincerely apologize that your Thuja Green Giant trees did not make it. The Thuja Green Giant is reccomended for growing zones 5-8 and unfortunatly, these would not thrive in your location since you are in zone 9. We do have a zone checker at the top of our site and provide zoning information on each product page. You can also place orders by phone to ensure the plants selected will work for your location. Unfortunatly, planting trees outside of their reccomended growing zone is not covered under our Guarantee. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 09/12/2025

I am rejecting this response because: this is simply a copy and pasted response they give all their customers after they take their money and their trees do not thrive as promised, they die. I further find it very unprofessional to say they have "too many customers" to care to improve with their satisfaction guarantee when I spoke with them on the phone. They should do the right thing and REPLACE these six trees! I'm not asking for my money to be returned, I'm simply asking for them to make right on their product for which they took my money! If necessary, I can dispute this payment and my money will be returned to me. I'm trying to help them have the money and I want replacement trees. They should be willing to stand behind their trees because they are NOT fast growing, they are dead! I submitted pictures to them as requested and they didn't even care. I've already read their response before when they emailed me directly. That's why I contacted you because other customers deserve to know that this is not how customers should be treated when doing business. I want my trees to be replaced.

I bought over 600 dollars worth of climbing roses. My growing zone is right on the border of two zones. When I purchased, i asked if they would survive my winter, the lady said yesi bought. A few days later i second guessed her and talked to someone in their greenhouse. He told me plant them up to the knuckle and cover them good with mulch. I did that. Every **** died over winter. They lied to me. And the warranty is c*** bc one, it would cost me a fortune to send back each dead ****, and two, the say they replace it with the same productit will just die again. They totally lied to me to make a sale.

We sincerely apologize that your roses did not make it. The initial order was placed online on 7/14/2024. The same da, we recieved a call to add to the order and also asked about cold hardiness for the Double Knock Out Rose. These grow best in zones 5 to 10. The planting location is zone 4. Some plants can handle slightly outside of their reccomended growing zone, and we provided winterization advice to help them make it through the winter.

On 7/29/24 we recieved a call to discuss the care and winterization and we advised that we would cover these under the One Year Warranty if they perish within a year from shipping. Our One Year Warranty covers a one time replacement if the customer covers shipping or a store credit for the price paid for the plants. For assistance with the warranty, we request photos of the plants submitted via our Contact Us Form: ***********************************************

We are so sorry, unfortunatly due to the age of the order these would no longer be covered however, we can assist with planting and care advice if you do wish to reorder.

I purchased plants from Fast Growing Trees, LLC on their website on the evening of 07/10/25. I changed my mind afterwards, and since it was after hours, my only choice was to call them first thing in the morning. They have tight time restriction for cancellation, and I'm penalized because they're on the east coast and I live on the west coast. Regardless, I ended with two chat sessions, one on 07/11/25 and another 07/16/25. It became quite apparent that in both chat sessions that the people with whom I was chatting were dishonest and deceitful. Details are outlined in my Narrative. I asked to cancel and asked for a refund. They said it was too late, which I find hard to believe, based both on their dishonesty and the circumstances. I just want my money refunded.

This order was placed online on 7/10 and was processed for shipping on 7/11. The timestamp for this being picked up for shipping shows 7/11 at 11:21 am EST. We received initial contact via chat requesting to cancel this order on 7/11 at 12:44 pm EST. Unfortunately, since this was already picked up by ***** and a tracking number had been automatically sent once shipped, we were unable to cancel this order.
We received correspondence via chat on 7/16 asking about returning the order. This order was scheduled for delivery 7/16 and we were advised that this was delivered. Although we are unable to accept returned plants and trees, our Alive & Thrive Guarantee covers any issues with your plants for the timeframe specified at the time of purchase. This helps us keep all of our plants healthy, and allows us to protect the plants and trees at our nursery from any pests or disease a plant may have come into contact with after it leaves our property.
We have attached our full Terms of Service as well.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 08/28/2025

I am rejecting this response because:

In Fast Growing Trees, LLCs response, it is stated that The timestamp for this being picked up for shipping shows 7/11 at 11:21 am EST. We received initial contact via chat requesting to cancel this order on 7/11 at 12:44 pm EST. The order was placed on the evening of 07/10/25, after business hours. According to the Terms of Service (*****************************************************), under the section Cancelling an Order it states that cancellations and changes must be made within four hours of placing your order. Since it was after hours,it stands to reason that the four hours commences as soon as business hours resume for customer service, which is 9:00 am EST. Four hours later is 1:00 pm EST.

It is curious that Fast Growing Trees, LLC allows cancellations and changes within four hours, yet they had the order picked up only two hours and 21 minutes after business hours were available to customers. This curiosity notwithstanding, contact was made, according to the merchant themselves, before the four-hour time limit.

Therefore, their response does not hold merit, and I reiterate my request for a full refund.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/01/2025

    Thank you for your reply and we appreciate your feedback in regard to our cancellation policy. Our regular office hours are 7 days a week from 9am EST to 8pm EST and you can also contact us via our Contact us form if you are unable to reach us by phone: ****************************************************;

Unfortunatly, the initial correspondence came in after the order had been assigned tracking, and we are unable to cancel an order once it has shipped. We provided informaiton as to our Guarantee policy and full terms of service.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 09/01/2025

I am rejecting this response because:

Thank you for reading my response regarding your cancellation policy. I still contend that you violated your own policy by arranging for ***** to pick up the order before the four-hour time frame in which cancellations are allowed.

It is not reasonable to believe that the four-hour time frame commences the moment the order is placed online, considering the fact that the order was placed while your office was closed. This would make the four-hour time frame an arbitrary and frivolous policy, given that you would not be better off if the cancellation were made any time before the opening of business. One could logically assume that the intent is for the four-hour time frame to commence once you begin business.

Moreover, even though you have a Contact Us link on your website, internet access is sometimes spotty and unreliable, so one cannot depend on being able to access the internet nor can one depend on the message being transmitted successfully.

I appreciate that you have provided me with your Terms of Service, and that you have informed me of various options for cancelling an order. It is my belief that based on my interpretation of your cancellation policy, as Ive outlined above, I did cancel within your cancellation policy. While I admire the expediency with which you send out your orders, it does come with the risk that we have experienced.

Therefore, I once again request a full refund. With all due respect, my only other option is to file a dispute with the issuer of the credit card (**********), and I am confident that ***** will decide in my favor. However, this will require much more paperwork for both of us, and I was hoping to avoid this turmoil by reaching an agreement through the BBB.

We bought several trees and bushes from fast growing trees. All of them are growing really well and beyond our expectations except one tree that looks exactly the same as when it arrived. It is literally a stick coming out of the ground with no leaves or anything. just the ribbons where it was spliced. I have filed warranty claim at several times (lost count how many) each time they have another reason or thing to try and I have to refile a claim each time. All of the original instructions have been followed for all the plants. Only this one does not grow. An entire growing season has past and I feel they are just waiting out the warranty period or trying to get me to stop trying through frustration. This should be replaced with a larger sized one at this point before it gets too cold to take for the season.

I have made two orders with Fast Growing Trees, but will not ever again. Several trees died on the first order, and were replaced without hesitation. But not for the second order. I chatted with a representative about 2 1/2 week after receiving the trees because 7 of the 20 had died. I was told they may be dormant or shocked and to give it a few weeks. I was also told to wait in case other trees died. I reached back out a week or so later and they refused to send me replacements unless I paid $30 for shipping, something they didnt do the first time. I was told it was because I went past 30 days. I told them that I tried and the representative told me to wait. I was told by the newest representative that they have no record of my chat and ensured me they kept records of all conversations. Sounds like they are telling me that Im not telling the truth. Long story short, they wont help out in any way so Ive asked for my account to be deactivated and all promotions to cease being sent to me. ***** this company. Totally unacceptable
