5 starsI contacted Shamrock on a price to replace my chimney caps. They found one of my flues with the heater and water heater deteriorated. They went and got a few fittings and completed the job. They also had to contend with a 3 year old , an unsure wife, and a barking dog. When my wife called me and explained the situation as I know this is common with 20 + year old heater flues. 1 starTwo men showed up in an old van. Only one man did the work. The other guy who was in charge talked on his phone most of the time he was there even when talking to me. It was also in a different language. I showed thisbguy where everything was and a chimney cleaning on two chimney's.. Told him had an issue with the top of one of the chimneys and wanted a quote on some re-cementing around the top. First he tried selling me a chimney liner. Then said the cost up top would be thirteen hundred dollars. I was quoted $250.00 last from different company. Told him to send me an estimate. When the worker was done on the roof he took down the ladder and he started putting it away. The boss said you have liquid ceosole on the rear chimney and should be washed with a cleaning compound. Cost $450.00. I said "why didn't you ask before he took the ladder down?" "He just told me about it." I agreed and the worker went back up and started undoing the wrong chimney cap. I said hey, "he's taking off the wrong one." He said "no he forgot to tighten some screws." I said "wait a minute, you were packed and ready to leave." He knew he was caught in a lie so he called up to his worker and he was doing the wrong one. Made me wonder if it rally needed to be done. So finally comes the vacuuming out the chimney plate in the basement and the insert in the living room. The worker brought the vacuum down and that thing ran for five minutes. I said to my wife, "I bet the guy is just sitting down there not doing a **** thing!" They were getting ready to leave and I asked about vacuuming out the living room insert? He said " oh my guy said it wasn't that dirty. I'm raising the ** flag on that statement. You cannot tell from above how dirty a chimney is. Total scam artist. Oh, almost forgot: I checked he clean out plate in the basement yesterday and I pulled 2 gallons of soot out!!! Never got an estimate on the repointing.Shamrock Chimney

2 starsThe phone number for this business as shown here on BBB and on their trucks must go to a central number. If you search the company online, you will most likely find one listed in a town near you, but their workers are not necessarily there. It can appear as a local business, but it is not as far as I can determine. I read the reviews on here, but decided that, because "my local" Shamrock Chimney was not listed, they must be ok. Although the man who came out and the local person on the phone all were nice, there was no way I could check, online, the quality of the work done locally. Also no way to ensure that the national call center will be there to help if problems arise with the work or honor their warranty. I recommend reading these reviews here on BBB and just applying them to any and all Shamrock locations.Shamrock Chimney

1 starI too am so sorry that I did not read the BBB reviews and do more research on this company, based in *************, before we used them. They were hired to build and place a cap on our chimney. They did a nice job of building the cap; however, did an absolutely HORRIBLE JOB with the installation! Instead of properly securing the cap with bolts, they only used an epoxy glue on two sides of the chimney. Needless to say, after a heavy wind, the cap blew off the chimney onto our roof and caused damage to the chimney as well as the roof. We contacted them several times about the problem and damage and they were totally unresponsive. They never returned calls and did not fix and repair the damage. We ended up having to hire and pay someone else to re-install the cap and repair the damage to the chimney and roof. What should have been an easy project for them, turned into a nightmare for us. If someone mentions Shamrock Chimney in *************, I would run as far away as possible! I do not recommend this company at all. I would give them zero stars if I could!Shamrock Chimney

1 star***** was quick to come out, "evaluated" the problem, took photos, and gave me a plan of action for a leaking chimney in the fireplace and water leaking out the fireboxes. He said he would do it that day, he through up a ladder, did some grinding and then took off for a few hours for an "Emergency". As it was getting late, I reached out to him to ask where they had gone. 4 hours later they came back and He and his partner did some repointing to an area of the chimney, ran tar all around the flashing. Low and behold the next rain we had the same leaking. I texted ***** and sent him photos that none of the $2500 worth of repairs fixed the problem. I don't know what their warranty covers, but I asked him to come back and repair it and he said he would. here I am two months later, of phone calls to their main office, talking to ***** and ****, and someone else who did not identify herself. They tell me to reach out to ***** and that they will as well. ***** always says, I'll be there this week and then is a no-show with no call. I called again today to rectify this, and I was put off again and asked to be patient. I started January 12th and it is March 4th and after multiple calls and texts, the problem remains.Shamrock Chimney
