So originally these guys started great but that soon changed my last 2 orders the food has been completely warm, I don't know these guys think one ice pack can keep SIX these meals cold, my last order arrived at 5 pm the ice bag is completely melted, it wasn't even on the meals it was on a piece of cardboard on the top, I live in ******* these meals were ALL completely hot, not even warm, this is second time in a row, no way I'm eating these and getting sick, this company obviously has ZERO idea for food handling safety. I want a refund for my last 2 orders and even though I do think th3 chefs food tasted great I'll never order from here again. Unless you want to get sick I recommend you all pay attention as well.Initial Complaint

I ordered prepared dinners to help me after a fall. The order was submitted approximately May 25, 2024. The delivery came in a light weight canvas zippered case . I opened immediately on arrival and found the freezer packets completely defrosted, mushy when picked up. The food was not chilled. I decided to cook one and within an hour became violently ill. Vomiting for over 24 hours. Im ****************************************** Cookunity has refused to reimburse me, but sent me an email saying, sorry to see you go. I never heard of the company Cookunity until they charged me $200. They have no listed phone number that works and do not immediately reply to emails. I am a single mother, and planned on using this money for school shopping!Initial Complaint

Cook Unity Improper Temperature for food delivery. The use 2 ice packs and a flimsy reusable cold bag. I get the need for eco friendly reusable bags. But they should change their bags to something that allows the weight of 4 ice packs and 12 meals.They are using 2, because their bags cannot hold the weight. Thats the excuse they gave us when we reached out to them.Theres no option to talk to a live person. Only chat or email This is not an issue during fall to spring. I purchased 16 meals from CookUnity under the impression there was a discount associated with the transaction. I had a previous discount that carried over to the next week, showing an order total of $94.35. This discount showed on my account for 2 weeks leading up to the order processing on 6/13. It was even there the day before when I edited my order. The next day, the order processed and I was charged $208.60. I emailed customer service that same day, providing a screenshot from their website from the day before showing the total was supposed to be $94.35. Despite the fact that I had proof that my account showed a discount, customer service just argued with me and had a bunch of excuses. They told me the coupon had expired almost 2 weeks prior. If the coupon is expired... why is it showing up on my account 2 weeks after the fact?! They also stated you can see expiration of the coupon when creating your order which is also false... and irrelevant. Theres NO reason whatsoever an expired coupon should be showing up as a valid discount when Im creating my order. I chose my meals, their website showed me a total which I confirmed and agreed to. This is definitely a bait and switch tactic they use on customers. Ive used tons of meal delivery services and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, removes the discount AFTER ITS BEEN USED. Either they need to fix their website (and honor the discounts advertised) or stop playing games. I would like a refund of $114.25, which is the amount I was overcharged.Customer Answer

I started receiving regular email communications (2x per week) from CookUnity's official email url regarding order processing and delivery, despite never signing up for the service. At first I attributed this to fraud (someone impersonating my email address) but upon checking with CookUnity's customer service, there is no ******************** account associated with my email. Since the CookUnity email url is accurate, and there's no order-specific information contained in the actual emails (order number, payment method, order total, delivery destination, etc.) there are 2 possibilities:1) A third-party has hacked into CookUnity's email system and is sending CookUnity-branded emails through their email client to an email list acquired by the hacker. As these emails have been happening for weeks with no response from CookUnity, this is very unlikely.2) CookUnity purchased or auto-generated a list of emails and are blasting fake order updates to these email addresses in hope that it will result in high click-through rates and product discovery.Both options present severe safety and legal risks that should be investigated. I have received three deliveries of food from this company that I have never ordered. I have no idea where they have come from. The name and address on the mailing label match mine, but the phone # is wrong. In the first place, I would never have ordered anything like this!! I filed fraudulent charges with my credit card company for the first two orders, which meant cancelling my credit card. I thought that solved my problem, but three weeks later, I received another order!! And it was charged on my new credit card number. I just got through filing another fraud report, which of course, means another new credit card #. They said they would put a stop payment on any further charges from this company .
