I initially contacted momentum solar back in march 2022 to setup my house for solar services and a new roof. The initial process took longer than I was told it would take which was kind of expected. In June 2022 they finally got around to installing the system. There were issues during the roof install, solar install and inspections. I reached out to the company who put me in touch with *************************** (my project manager). He told me that because of all of the problems that happened they would cover and pay for my first 3 months of payments which totals $922.**. When my service was finally turned on in September 2022 I was told I wouldn't have a bill till January 2023. I received a bill in October 2022. I called momentum and they said that they would be sending a check and that from June till October the approval for the check was still pending. I have now called in multiple times each month since then and have been told that someone by the name of ***** or ****** is going to give me a call back. I have not once received a phone call from this apparently incompetent company. On 1/12/23 I called in and spoke to **************** ext ********************************************************************* back by the end of the day Friday 1/13/23. I never heard from her. I just called in and spoke to her again today 1/19/23 and she said it is still pending. I requested to speak to a manager and was told that there are no managers that can help me and that they only contact them by email. This has been going on for over 6 months now and it is absolutely ridiculous. I would like to get this matter resolved IMMEDIATELY. I can only imagine how many other customers are running into the same issue and never hear back from this company. I will be sure to let everyone I can know to never use Momentum Solar. I feel like at this point I should be compensated more than the original $922 for all of the hours on the phone and headaches that have been caused by working with Momentum Solar.Business Response

They did not state ***** business days. I was told this in a previous conversation as well back in December that the check was approved and mailed out which did not happen. Once the check is in hand and clears is when I will consider this matter resolved.

We spoke with ***************** and explained that the system has not yet been energized for one month, and they would need to give the system a little time to start producing. I am rejecting this response because: Yes, they reached out to my wife. They explained to her that we have not had it long enough to see any difference. However, that is not what we were told. We have not received a bill yet as we were unable to get the loan, so we had to lease the panels. Have not seen any bill in regard to the agreed lease amount. However, that was going to be like 90 a month. With very little going to the electric company. However, my last bill with the addition of the special device needed for the solar to be active was part of the ****** bill so electric bill was 260.00.As well since solar is doing this they also lowered the amount of money given per kw from 7 cents to 3 cents which is meaning unless we have about 100 solar panels on the house we will never eliminate the electric bill.Again, have not received any bill from Momentum Solar via email or by paper. As I plan on keeping track of both billsThe ******* department of agriculture and consumer services has been notified. The next step will be the ******* attorney general's office, as stated I am a 100 percent disabled veteran, and if they plan to keep doing business i would suggest on changing how their sales tactics are being done as they are misleading and now, we have another bill on top of the electric bill which we were told would be minimal.I have received no correspondence from Momentum. If they so, choose to correspond they will do it by email or by letter so that it is in writing and can be kept on file for record.

After reviewing the bill, Momentum explained that the customer was energized in the middle of the utility billing cycle. I SIGNED UP FOR SOLAR IN AUGUST OF 2022. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE NO BILL UNTIL THE ***** WAS TURNED ON. THIS COMPANY RUSHED TO INSTALL ALL THE PANELS ON MY BRAND NEW ROOF AND AS OF TODAY THE SOLAR STILL IS NOT TURNED ON. THIS COMPANY GETS THEIR $ FROM THE **** AND THEN YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET THEM TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON GETTING IT TURNED ON. I CALLED EVERY WEEK FOR 3 WEEKS FOR THEM TO TELL ME THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME THE PAYMENT,I HAVE RECIEVED ONE REIMBURSEMENT. I AM NOW ON MY 3RD PAYMENT. I had solar panels placed August 2022 ( by Momentum solar ) / inspected by town building/electrical already. My meter at times runs backwards at times. My panels are still not activated. I signed a contract with Momentum Solar on March 30, 2022. I was told that the project would start in a matter of weeks. Part of what was required by the Inspector of the project in the ***************, Was an **************** Upgrade. The house only had 60 ************ After multiple service dates were made & canceled, the solar panels were finally installed on Sept. 12. But, they could not be connected to the grid. Because Momentum didnt perform the Service Upgrade. I indicated on March 30 that EVERYTHING in my house was going to be electric. After the solar panels were installed, Momentum gave me a date of November 12 to perform the Service Upgrade. Between the fact that Momentum had already canceled installation dates. And, I live in ************* & would need heat long before Nov. 12. I had to find an electric contractor & pay for the Service Upgrade out of my pocket. Because, I believe, Momentum realized that I needed the project to be completed. They jacked up the price a number of times. The original cost to have 15 panels (+ the service upgrade) was $21,330. I paid $5000 for the Service Upgrade. (Momentum quoted me $8200). 21,330-5000= $16,330/15 panels= $1089 X 29 (number of panels I have) =$31,572 + $17,850 (cost of roof) = &******. That is the amount I should be paying. Not $62,130 that Im being charged, when they didnt provide the service they were required to perform.Business Response

Initially, we thank ********************* for his business. Our review indicates that Momentum completed system installation on September 12, 2022. All proper protocols have been followed in order to achieve system energization.
However, it is apparent that there is confusion about the components of ************** loan that he took to pay for Momentums work. Specifically, ************ is incorrect that he is paying for (and was charged for) a master panel upgrade that Momentum did not perform and that ************ himself separately contracted to have completed.
************** total purchase with Momentum was $62,130.00, which is reflected in his loan. This amount is comprised of the following: $44,280 for solar and $17,850 for roof. While initially ************** purchase and loan was to include a charge of $3,750 for the master panel upgrade, the charge was subsequently removed in light of ************** decision to separately contract with another company to do that work. The components of solar ($44,280) and roof ($17,850) total $62,130, which is the precise amount of purchase (and loan). We do not have any record of a charge for $8,200 for the master panel upgrade work (or for any other work in that amount). Rather, the master panel work was to be $3,750, but as stated herein, that charge was dropped when ************ utilized another company to perform that work.
Accordingly, this project is complete, ************** system is energized, and his loan reflects the proper amount.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Momentum was REQUIRED to perform the ***.
The contract that I signed indicated that Momentum was installing my Solar Panel System. There isnt any language stating that I am required to perform the **** for the installation to be completed.
The installation could NOT be completed because Momentum did NOT perform the ***.
Momentum had already canceled twice, the installation of the solar panels. With no explanation of why. Both times their rescheduled installation appointment was over a month later.
I didnt have heat & the *** date Momentum gave me was Nov. 21. Given Momentums past performance, I had no choice but to find a contractor to perform the ***. Momentum NEEDS to reduce their price. Because they did NOT provide the services that I was charged for

************ is mistaken. A Master Panel Upgrade is separate electrical work. It is not contained within the scope of work associated with the installation of a solar system. Rather, it is ancillary work. It was necessary to upgrade his electrical panel, just like a homeowner might need to install a new roof to support a system if the roof is not in good condition. A new roof would not be included in the scope of work and neither is a Master Panel Upgrade. That is why we suggested that he needed such an upgrade and provided a quote to him for that work. That work was originally included in his loan but was subsequently removed when he decided to have a different company perform that work. So this has been an on going issue that I'm finally fed up with. When I first signed up with momentum solar it was by referral from my neighbor. They were supposed to receive a $750 referral check. Basically back in early to mid 2022. Our solar was installed and they never received the check. Had called multiple times and been given the run around of being told the check would be sent out in the next two weeks to finally hear that the claim I made was declined for some 9 month time limit excuse they decided to give. They don't send any emails or any call to let me know if the decision. That being said these first calls about the issue was within that 9 month period. So they go from saying a check was getting sent to declining it with a word. In my eyes this is fraud. You advertise something and don't deliver on it. Time and time again I called and they said a manager would call me back..... they never call back.... not once.
Oh and also there is the case that none of the plugs in my kitchen work after they installed the solar panels. Using any of them trips their back up breaker THEY installed. When a tech went out he just looked it over for five minutes and told us no to use more than one plug at a time. Issue there is we were only using one plug with a toaster. So they leave a brand new house (literally less than two years old) now with a partially functioning kitchen. This company is a joke.Business Response
