1 starI am completely disgusted with the disconnecting process.After mailing in the equipment, my online account was disabled, requiring me to go through some ridiculous process to reset my account to pay my balance.The alternative was to pay a fee on top of my balance through the automated telephone service.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

It sounds like your account *** have been temporarily locked due to several attempts to enter it with the wrong username/password. This is a security feature to keep your privacy protected. 1 starTotally disgusted with this company. We have had no internet or tv since 9am due to an outage in my area. I work from home, I was forced to loose a day of pay since I could not work. I also have a special needs child in which needs internet services to work while hes home and it has been a major inconvenience for it to still be off. I called around 5pm in which they told me it would be restored around 7pm. It is still not restored and now the recording says 10:30pm. Every representative I spoke with gave a different answer. Aside from my bill going up from last year, this was handled so poorly. I will be canceling in the next few days.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starI called on 12/26 to lower my service to Basic. As of 1/31, the change didn't happen and was still being charged for Preferred Cable at $300. I called at 3:20pm on 1/31 and was quoted $225.61 (which included a $70 customer loyalty discount) to remain at Preferred for 12 months. I agreed to this, hung up the phone, and when I turned on my TV tonight, I have ************** I called at 10:10pm and have now been told they can't restore my ***************** without new equipment and at a higher price than was originally agreed. This call has lasted over an hour. They put manager ***** on the phone and he hung up on me mid-sentence at 1hour and 9minutes in the call.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starI was an RCN customer for three years with **********************/TV/Telephone service. Started with $100, went up to $200, then up to $265. After this I took a wireless internet service that cost me only $50 but kept the telephone line with RCN (now Astound) which was $30 first, then $35 and now they just pumped it up to $69 (100% increase in one year). I called the customer service for billing and their explanation was that the promotional period ended and that is why the price went up. I explained that it was no promotional but she stated that every year price is considered promo price (never heard of such absurdity before). RCN-Astound practice rip-of techniques because they can and nobody controls what they do. You can see from the boiler plate response of the company to other complains they do not care and will continue to do so. Shame on Astound-RCN.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starHorrible! Accusing us of having equipment we dont have! We have no use for the equipment they want! ************** took the phone equipment because we have no more use for a landline phone. I have argued with them for days! There trying to charge us for something we dont have!Then after the chat is over they try to sell you more services! Crazy! We have been with WOW/Astound for years! They are horrible! Dont use them. Get another provider for your cable/ internet needs!Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starAbsolutely horrible unacceptable customer service and constantly increasing fees taxes prices . Never had 2 months in a row with the promised amount! Now just found out another lie!!! **** is increasing $24 a month after the last big increase in Sept. I have 2 call pretty much every month because bills are always more than they said month b4 I'm never on a stable constructed plan because astound just makes increases whenever. I DONT even have any movie channels and only on tier 2. At wow I paid about 60 less had way more channels and never had so many technical issues as *********** much daily with astound. Tomorrow I start searching for a new customer friendly customer cared **********************/******************** company that honors their word service and offers decent acceptable affordable productsAstound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starDeceptive practice! I priced out online exactly what I would need for internet. I found a great package. I called bc I did speak with someone who came to my house a few months ago. He was awesome and completely honest. I was hoping to speak to him or at least give him credit. However, I am still switching to this provider but because I know better now. I am extremely uncomfortable with the sales service team. They tried to hustle me. Just because a gadget meaning an iPhone, iPad, or PlayStation happen to use you wireless does not mean you need a crazy over priced internet plan. In fact, maybe just block wireless connections so you can really see. Although it can look like you use a lot of devices most arent being used especially at once. My husband just started using ************* data plan through the cell company and thought it would be a disaster but all is good. ******* is streaming just fine too. No need to increase data speed. 1 starWe moved and started new services with Astound. We were already existing customers. Once we moved and had activated our new services, the old services were cancelled. After a month, we received a bill with non return equipment fees for a wifi extender that we never had active or used. We reached out and were refused to be refunded these charges, even though we had never activated or used this equipment we were being billed for. We have been customers with WOW for over a decade, and stuck with them when they became Astound. And now, because of this, we will be looking for another provider.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starSince taking over for WOW they r not the same. I can't order *** Network because I would have to change all the codes that I had with WOW. But I never had Internet service with WOW Time to change cable suppliers after I have been with WOW all these years.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

2 starsBeen a customer for close to 40 years with a change in service provider for 3 years 14 years ago. Due to an arrangement with our township RCN (now Astound Broadband) was out only choice other than DirectTV. Since returning to RCN/Astound Broadband 11 years ago out internet and cable service was constantly having issues. Technicians have been at our house over 20 times to get our internet/cable working. These visits were only band aids and RCN could never figure out issues. On Oct 27 out internet went out and we were unable to reset it ourselves or calling in twice to Astound. They were unable to get a technician out to our house for four days. In the era of so many things connected to the internet the service provided by astound is poor. It is poor because there is no competition allowed in the area. We could care less about the cable tv but so much of our life needs internet connection, having to wait four days for a technician to come out is ridiculous. I was not able to work from for my job, my security system was not connected, nor my lights and other things connected for smart home access. I cancelled my service and was told it would be $79 to return the equipment of I could take to ****** Astound provided a return label but I had to pay to pack the equipment and a ***** box.Astound Broadband powered by RCN
