1 star************ that doesn't even pretend to be interested in customer satisfaction. Salesman came to my door and offered one month free trial service, equipment included. I still have their written work order showing FREE Wi-Fi and FREE 1 month internet. My family tried it for over a week but the connection speed would drop to almost nothing and the 5G cell signal could not be received by any wireless device in my house. 12 days after installation I sent an email to the salesman telling him I was not going to keep the service. No response. 6 days later after Googling and calling Astound numbers I found that I could drop the equipment at ***** without getting an RMA, so that is what I did. I still have the ***** tracking info. Their phone **** were not very helpful ****** all their equipment was on its way back to them 18 days after installation and I made it clear to their *** on the phone that I was done with Astound.Also filled in their "sorry to see you go" survey and told them exactly why I didn't like the service and I told them don't bother sending a bill for the free trial *********** I receive a bill in the mail telling me that I need to return any unreturned equipment and if I don't pay the bill within 15 days I may be referred to a collection agency.*DO NOT EVER CONSIDER USING ASTOUND*I would have left a zero star rating but this review tool forces me to give them at least one.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starMy experience matches the types of deceptive bait-and-switch tactics described elsewhere in these reviews. Astound attracts customers with a short-term "teaser" rate, then has a massive price increase as soon as the initial period is over. Moreover, the timing of price increases is not made clear to customers. For example, I just read in the fine print of my latest bill that my monthly price would increase "soon." I am not exaggerating. There is literally no date listed, and the text (in fine print on Page 4) merely says "As a courtesy, we want to let you know that your current promotion is ending soon." This is not only my latest bill, but also my *last* bill, since I'm canceling my ********** addition, Astound hides its true costs through a junk fee that they call the "Network Access and Maintenance Fee." This fee is deceptively listed under a category called "TAXES, ******************* but the fine print makes it clear that these are not government taxes or required federal, state, or municipal costs. Astound also randomly increases this fee with little to no explanation other than a vague note hidden, which true to form is written in fine print on page 4 of the monthly bill. I generally place little trust or respect in internet service providers, but Astound's deception represents a new low. Good riddance.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starWe are beyond frustrated. It is too bad one star is the lowest rating available. For the past month, we have been dealing with Astound Broadband regarding intermittent service with our internet/tv. In one month, we have had 4 techs out, and made over a dozen phone calls. ***** did all they could, and nothing solved the problem. They all suspect there is a problem at the street or with the system and we were told of two work orders submitted locally. We continue to have internet problems, even after repeated promises that someone would reach out to us. Today was a tipping point when we were disconnected for over an hour and we were told AGAIN that the previous work order had been submitted locally and that we would hear from them. After explaining we have been hearing this for weeks, they acknowledged they were unable to provide any additional help. We are stuck with the ***** number and have no recourse to find out why no one is reaching out to us and why there have been no updates on solving this problem. What is truly telling about Astound Broadband is the lack of true customer service. One would think that if a customer has had four tech visits and made a dozen phone calls to customer service for over one month, this would be flagged and trigger SOME type of action from the company. Astound Broadbands states on their website, Weve made a pledge to our customers to put them first in everything we do. We are dedicated to going the extra mile to ensure our customers experiences are ************************* every time." Anyone can write up a pledge, but unless it is honored, it is worthless. PS We're still having issues and no contact from Asound. We've been advised to schedule yet another tech visit to escalate the problem. 1 starAn actually horrific experience with this company. 1. Took THREE tries to cancel our trial service two years ago after being redirected to 6 people each time saying they couldn't help. 2. We did everything that we were supposed to do when canceling, including returning all of the equipment WITH tracking number. Tracking number confirmed arrival of the equipment at their facility. ONE YEAR later, I get a collections notice for the equipment and three additional months of service. Not A SINGLE COMMUNICATION FROM ASTOUND DURING THAT YEAR. So my assumption was fraudulent charges. I called, couldn't get answers but paid it because I needed this off my credit. 3. ANOTHER YEAR LATER and I just got another collections letter for missing equipment and a months worth of service. again ZERO communication from Astound in the past year. Literally nothing makes sense with this company. I can't even believe this company anymore. Literally RUN in the other direction if this company comes across your doorstep or you are thinking about it. Plus the actual internet sucked.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starThis is a terrible company. Their service is unreliable, they raise prices with no notice, and they are charging everyone in my building a different fee for the same service. Today, I had an equipment failure, and having a technician come out to fix it might cost me $79.99. They could not explain why this is a "maybe" other than to say it's at the discretion of the technician. The only way to avoid the fee is to spend an additional $4.95 for the protection plan. 1 starNot only does Astound make customers call in once or twice a year due to exorbitant increases in our bills. When you call in the customer service is very poor. I made sure not to raise my voice, and I tried to tell them what my problem was. They not only put words in my mouth, they did get loud, which did not go over well with me, and I requested to speak to someone else. Who also told me basically I was being unreasonable and I should buy my own modem and that the competitors are not any different. This company makes customers call in twice a year to beg for a better price and then three months later, my bill was raised anyway $15 , the price gouging and **************** is horrendousAstound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starAstound broadband has to be the worst service provider I have ever attempted to use. I had switched my service from Spectrum to Astound because they seemed to be a good affordable option but I was very aggressively mistaken. I had gotten their internet service installed, which worked for about 1hr after the technician left. I tried several times to get the service fixed but to no success. I work from home and I need internet so I ended up canceling and switching back to spectrum. I had the service connected for less than 7 days and at no point was I able to actually use the service. Within that week I received multiple recurring emails stating that I had to pay $58.49 for the service after I had just made payment of $58.49 to see if thats why the service wasnt working. I got 3 of those, and when I cancelled I was told that because I was still within the 30 day cancellation period I would get a refund. I never did. So I ended up reporting them to my financial institution for them to process my refund. Equipment was returned the same week of cancellation and now Im receiving letters from them stating that my payment wasnt processed and that if I dont pay it they will report me to the credit bureau. Astound is an absolute scam theyre more interested in charging you for their services than actually providing them. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a more affordable option, theyll try to take more from you with nothing in return than the higher priced service providers out there that actually make good on what you are paying for. 1 starRCN CABLE! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE QUCIK TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT NEVER FIX ISSUES. THEY OFFER CREDIT THEN NEVER TAKE OFF **** WHEN YOU CALL ABOUT YOUR CREDIT THEY SAY THEY HAVE NO NOTES CUSTOMER SERVIVE HORRIBEL RUDE STAFF. 1 starAstound refuses to cancel their services until the next billing cycle. This is ridiculous that I have to pay for services I am not using. Every month my bill goes up. I am sick of being taking advantage of by Astound RCN. I will never recommend Astound to anybody. Astound doesnt deserve a star rating. Terrible customer service. Our policy now is that internet-only customers are billed to the end of their current billing cycle when disconnecting service.
