1 starThis company is the absolute worst. They Get you in the door with low pricing and then they start hiking up your bill. I called in to see what they can do to fix it, then they say they will lower the amount, and either they never actually do it, or just hike it back up again by EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE I CALLED within the next for few bills. They always come up with some BS " reason" why the price goes up. such as a maintenance fee, an investment fee, etc, the list goes on. They are total scam artists and they pull the same scam on everyone that calls in. Totally unscrupulous. total joke.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starGreedy. If it's Internet only, they don't disconnect it until the end of the billing cycle.There was nothing communicated about this change when it went into effect back in February 2024, contrary to what their agents say, and going to the link on the website, there is nothing about this change.I can't get my money back for the 3 weeks of service I can't use, but I'm **** sure going to **** people away from subscribing by calling out their greed on social media, ****** reviews, Yelp, and anywhere else I can. Our terms and conditions were updating in the beginning of April 2024, and customers were notified via a letter/email several weeks before the change took place. Our policy is that internet-only customers are billed to the end of their current billing cycle when disconnecting service. (Customers are still able to use their service when a disconnection is placed up until the end of the billing cycle.) 1 starI've applied for employment 6 times and have been denied working for you all those times funny thing is your HR representative ***** *. gets my resume from indeed,glassdoor etc and contacts me everytime and after my second interview she calls me or I call her and always told they found someone else so why does she consistently contacts me then denies me employment is she not taking note her denials or whatAstound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starAstound broadband hid a price increase on my bill from $72 to $120 on page 4, second paragraph. I was setup for billing autopay and like most of the general public, I do not read every paragraph on the bill. This is a shady practice and feel that customers are being taken advantage of.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starI'd give no stars if I could. As another review has stated, their cancellation policy for internet only customers is best described as thinly veiled robbery. I cancelled my account on 9/16/24, the same day a bill was generated for my account. I was told that unfortunately since i was outside the billing cycle I would have to pay the full balance as they "don't prorate accounts" for ******************** only customers. So I'm left paying $169 for 30 days of service I didn't use. ***** wasn't connected. They can turn service off and on with a flip of a switch, but cancelling it out and prorating the bill is not an option? Sound like laziness and a real convenient way to rob your customers as a punishment for leaving and line your pockets in the process. It's also quite alarming that not even 2 full business days after the service I was being forced to keep, I get a bill for an equipment charge of $143 for a modem. So let me get this straight, I'm forced to keep and pay for service I don't want or need, and if I don't get the equipment back to you in 24 hours I'm getting charged for it? Astound sure seems like a real shake down operation. Thinly veiled theft. I'd almost argue it's pretty blatant theft. Could never recommend Astound/RCN, and certainly will never, ever do any business with them again.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starThe RCN internet service is terrible, my video conference tools such as zoom keep crashing with this internet. Plus, they started with a $33 price point and then without my consent kept increasing price to over $50 and now to over $106. This is outrageous!! 1 starCancelation policy is unacceptable. Service that ends even one day outside of a billing cycle will not be pro rated. Instead you are asked to pay a full month of service, even if the router is no longer connected. This change apparently happened in February and customer service is unable to assist or provide any alternative options.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starAbsolutely terrible technical and customer service!My more realistic rating would actually be zero ******** addition to countless outages and totally inadequate information provided about those outages (accurately described in the review below from **** *.), I recently learned that I had been paying for an Internet speed of 1G (high speed Internet) while using a modem owned by Astound Broadband that was appropriate only for speeds up to 500 **** This situation was in effect for well over a year before a customer service *** mentioned that situation to me by phone and theorized that it "could be responsible for the problems you've been having." Amazingly, a technician who had come to my house to ***air the modem just a month or two earlier had not noticed this disc***ancy.I discontinued what I consider to be this inferior service a couple of months ago and won't miss the stress created in my life by Astound Broadband. Many of my neighbors have endured the same experiences and are also looking for an escape route.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starAfter a significant increase in my monthly bill to $150 a month I decided to purchase my own modem/router to help reduce the cost of my monthly bill. I had called to notify them of my new modem/router and provided the *** number on the unit in order to set everything up and did so successfully without any significant issues. I had no issues with the internet for approximately a week and then after sending back their equipment via ***** my internet suddenly ceased working. After attempting troubleshooting on my end, I called RCN/Astound to see if there was an outage in the area and to try to get my internet back up and running. I was told that they did not have the *** number for my new modem (which seemed very odd given I had called previously to provide that info and had my internet up and running without any issues for the past week- why did that information suddenly disappear?). I again provided my *** number to try to resolve the issue and after several attempts of them saying everything was good on their end, restarting my modem, computer, trying multiple devices, etc. I was told that they would need to send out a technician to resolve the issue and that it would cost $80 to do so. If I didn't want to pay the $80, instead they could add on an additional service for $5 a month that would cover the cost any time a technician would need to come to my home. At this point, I told them that instead I would just switch internet providers because none of this makes sense for me financially. As soon as I threatened to change internet providers, the internet was suddenly able to be up and running without issues. The whole thing felt like a scam and very dishonest business practices to try to get me to spend additional money now that they will be losing the revenue on the monthly fees for the rental equipment.Astound Broadband powered by RCN
