      This is one of the most awful experiences I had with RCN. Signed up RCN when I moved to a new apartment because of great deals (2 months free + $100 gift card). Was late for the first 2 months of payment due to account not set up. The penalty is: $15 late fee + $40 restoral fee (was not mentioned when I interact with the customer service figuring out my account and bills) + losing $100 gift card (was not mentioned of the terms beforehand). Would never want to be a customer of ********************** again!!!

      I was never very pleased with their services. Have not found a lot to watch and enjoy. But within the last four months, there have been doubled up charges, plus late fees. And I have canceled their service. I was never later than a week forgetting to pay, and there was no explanation for the doubled charges. ***************************

      Was a customer with **********************, (now ******************************************** for over 10 years. When I decided to cancel all my services last November, the agent completely messed up the cancellation and did not register the cancellation with the system, Astound continued to bill me for services, even though none was provided. I was told the cancellation was not documented in the system till December. Despite calling on several occasions and despite the fact that all equipment was returned in November, I was still billed for December and told I was using my own equipment, which was a complete lie. No one could show or prove to me that service was provided despite me repeatedly asking them to show me evidence for this. Still being forced to pay for services I didn't receive with threats of sending to collections, despite the fact that I never defaulted or was late on any bill in over 10 years. I guess being a loyal customer counts for nothing with ********************. Subscriber beware. Completely not worth the hassle with the ever increasing costs.

      We are totally disgusted with this company. Since they bought out Wide Open West, which we had for over 20 years with NO problems at all, we have had nothing but problems with this company, especially within the last 3 months. I have missed 5 days of pay due to internet being out. We have lost cable, internet and land line numerous times, and one time we were out for 4 days in a row. I have almost lost my job as I work from home. I get one excuse after another, and now it is an outage in our area in Elgin AGAIN, which there was one supposedly just yesterday. I am so tired of hearing oh, I am sorry for what you are dealing with, etc. A technician came out more than a week ago, said our equipment is fine, it is the box in neighbors yard that is the problem, he was supposed to report it and someone was supposed to be out within 72 hours to fix it, never happened. Their customer service *****, and these problems with them has given me health problems with stress, stomach issues, constant migraines. They do not care about their customers, and it is one excuse after another with them. Totally horrible customer service as well. We are going to be switching to another reputable cable company. I am tired of paying for my home security system when we cannot use it when everything goes out, and tired of paying ridiculos cost to this company for crappy cable and service.

      Unfortunately this company has no idea of what customer service is. We have an issue, which they identify as there issue and now state they have 4-6 weeks to fix it. In the meantime I dont have service and I still have to pay for service. After they fix it I can apply for a possible partial refund of fees. And other than the ***** number that only talk in scripts no one else will talk to you. They dont even have a number for corporate offices. Heck the customer service representatives dont know where the corporate office is. Really sad that a company talks about great customer service and then treats customers so poorly.

      I am completely disgusted with the disconnecting process.After mailing in the equipment, my online account was disabled, requiring me to go through some ridiculous process to reset my account to pay my balance.The alternative was to pay a fee on top of my balance through the automated telephone service.

It sounds like your account *** have been temporarily locked due to several attempts to enter it with the wrong username/password. This is a security feature to keep your privacy protected.       irst off I have never heard of this company so I was very surprised when they called to confirm my service call. So first of all I can go in with my cell phone and cancels someones appointment. When I tried to get an agent on the phone they make it impossible to do so. So to get someone I had to make up a technical issue which I knew that would ultimately get a human on there. When I got customer service agent on the phone ther professionalism was seriously lacking. The agent seemed to have lost her head set and was continue to talk and you could not hear the conversation. The connection for a broadband service in general was deplorable. While I was trying to figure out if they maybe had a connection to my current internet or my parents company the agent refused ro answer that and asked for my information. In the age of scams I would not release my information. I was not asking for them to release any pii (personal identifying information). So to think about it. There was a big issue on the company side that they probably did not confirm the other persons phone number so I would be scared that the company does not pay attention to details.

      Very bad customer service. Frequent outages that last hours and no concern for ***************. They have a captive customers and treat them as bunch of free loaders

      Totally disgusted with this company. We have had no internet or tv since 9am due to an outage in my area. I work from home, I was forced to loose a day of pay since I could not work. I also have a special needs child in which needs internet services to work while hes home and it has been a major inconvenience for it to still be off. I called around 5pm in which they told me it would be restored around 7pm. It is still not restored and now the recording says 10:30pm. Every representative I spoke with gave a different answer. Aside from my bill going up from last year, this was handled so poorly. I will be canceling in the next few days.

      I called on 12/26 to lower my service to Basic. As of 1/31, the change didn't happen and was still being charged for Preferred Cable at $300. I called at 3:20pm on 1/31 and was quoted $225.61 (which included a $70 customer loyalty discount) to remain at Preferred for 12 months. I agreed to this, hung up the phone, and when I turned on my TV tonight, I have ************** I called at 10:10pm and have now been told they can't restore my ***************** without new equipment and at a higher price than was originally agreed. This call has lasted over an hour. They put manager ***** on the phone and he hung up on me mid-sentence at 1hour and 9minutes in the call.
