I am making a complain against Vacations Made Easy for making false claims about their pricing, misleading customers about their service fees, and lying about providing buyer protection.On June 27, 2024, I spent $1,049.06 on 12 tickets to three different dinner shows in Pigeon Forge via VacationsMadeEasy.com for my familys Christmas holiday based on the fact that the company's website claimed a "Best Price Guarantee" as well as a refund" guarantee. This was important to me as I have severe health issues that have caused me to cancel vacation plans a few times this year.After purchasing the tickets, I received a special email offer to buy tickets for a local rollercoaster ride for only $39 per person. Curious about the pricing, I looked up the normal ticket price and found it is only $18.99 per adult, more than half of what Vacations Made Easy was charging me for a "special price!" This prompted me to check the prices of the dinner tickets directly from the venues, and found that Vacations Made Easy had actually overcharged me by $186.30! And this is after I was supposedly given a "Buy One Get One Free" deal on 4 of the tickets!I immediately attempted to cancel my purchase to buy the tickets at the actual best price and save nearly $200. However, that was when I was informed that the company does not actually give refunds, but rather gives credits in the form of a gift certificate. I was very upset about this, because a refund is very different from a credit, so to claim on their advertising that they give refunds is untruthful. I don't want a gift certificate for a company that is overcharging me for tickets I can buy much cheaper from the companies themselves! They will give a partial cash refunds, but only 65% of what was paid, equating to $367.17, with the company keeping $681.89. So to process a partial refund would end up costing me ****** MORE than I already overpaid. Again, this is a horrible mistruth from what they say on the website.Business Response

Order #******* was placed on April 5th 2024. The booking was mistakenly made for April 9th 2024, when it should have been placed for May 9th 2024. I did not realize this mistake until I received a text reminder on April 5th stating I needed to pick up my vouchers because my event was beginning in less than 4 hours. I immediately called and let customer service know of my issue. They stated nothing could be done because it was past the 48 hour cancellation policy. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was given the same response. I am not looking for a cancellation or even a refund, I am simply looking for my booking to be transferred to the correct date. The amount paid was $546.85 that has been wasted with no services provided. I am looking to use that amount to book the correct date so that I can receive the services I paid for. My friend tried to made reservations for us for 4 but his wife had to have triple bypass surgery. My friend changed the tickets to my name without my knowing and the trip didn**;t work out. It went from $1388 to $1431. They inflated the price and offered to credit his account $1288 that**;s it. I am a veteran but my friend is not and we didn**;t get a veterans discount. February 25, 2024 I made a reservation for a 2 bedroom condo at the Suites of **************************************. I paid $627 for a package that included 5 attractions and the suite. I called the suites today to confirm the reservation and they had my name, but the address was a New York address per ******, morning shift worker. ****** was unable to see the details of the stay so I was told to call back. I then called back and spoke with a female employee who told me that my reservation was for a STUDIO room. Not to mention there was no other places available. I saw online how many times people have had problems with them. I tried to cancel the reservation, but per ******, supervisor, that was not going to be possible. She put me on hold multiple times with the same excuse. I screen recorded and notified them all thar I was recording. She said she would try and work it out and let us know what is going on. This is for my son's birthday, we were going to be driving 8 hours away just to go there. I would just like to get my refund.Business Response

I purchased tickets for Rowdy tubing in ************, ********* on Feb. 5th 2024 from Vacation Made Easy for the amount of $46.65. I added a ticket for my grandson on my credit card. When we arrived, my fiance, grandson, and myself slid down once. It was very rough on the slides. I hurt my ankle in the process and my grandson was terrified. We went directly inside and talked to the manager about a refund, she said she could only issue a refund for the ticket we bought from them. She couldn't refund the other 2 tickets since they were purchased from Vacation Made Easy. She said we would have to call Vacation Made Easy for the other refund. That is what I did and she told me that they could call her and she would vouch for the refund. However when Vacation Made Easy called me back they stated that *****'s Tubing manager agreed with them and they were not going to issue a refund. I immediately called the manager back and she said they don't like to do refunds and I was going to have a hard time getting it. They lied about her agreeing, because she said she would have issued it.Business Response

February 25. 2024 I booked a Steamboat tour for May 3rd in ********* ** through vacations made easy. While I was ordering on line it said book now, and pay later. It also said I can cancel up to 24 hours prior to May 3rd. I completed my order on line, and then checked my credit card account and $179.06 was already a pended charge. I called them at ************, and spoke to ****. He said I couldn't cancel, that it was non refundable. I said that wasn't the information that I was given when I booked, and I would like to cancel. **** said that he couldn't help me. Business sold me 4 tickets. 2 for a river cruise and 2 for the aquarium. The aquarium said that the tickets given were not valid and we couldn't use them. I called the merchant and they refused even a partial refund. If I don't receive a refund for those tickets that were not allowed to be used due to the venue denying them, I will call my credit card company and file a complaint against them.Business Response

I have accepted their false response since I got my refund. In fact the phone number didn't work when I called for directions. I entered the mall and walked up to one of their booths and their employee didn't know where the main store to pick up tickets was at. This is their own employee! Eventually I found it and spoke to a rep inside and said that the instructions weren't clear on where to find you. Since it says vacations made easy and you have to look for a Wyndham storefront instead. There's no signage that says it's related to vacations made easy. I told them about the employee. They gave me my supposed tickets. I left. The next day went to the cruise, and those tickets worked fine. But the aquarium would not take the tickets due to it not being a real ticket. It wasn't even 48 hours after I used the cruise tickets when I contacted the vacations made easy reps for help. In fact it was barely 24 hours. So if they're going to state something, please state the facts instead of a false narrative that makes you look good. Because in that 24 hour period, before your cutoff, their employees had stated that there was nothing they could do even though their fake tickets were rejected by the aquarium. I thank them for refunding but they need to be truthful about the whole situation.

I paid for my family of 4 to enjoy **** ****** through *********************, we were supposed to attend November 28, 2023. On the morning of November 28, 2023 a medical emergency arose affecting a member of our family. Dad, who is a quadriplegic veteran with medical complications was unable to attend.
Our family is used to last minute changes surrounding complications with Dads medical situation. We find the business community is always understanding and supportive.
However when speaking with Vacationsmadeeasy.com I was informed they require 4 days notice even for medical emergencies and NO accommodation or solution would be offered. That since we did not plan this medical complications they would not honor our family's investment at all.
I don't know if we can get a solution. But I do know that family with medical considerations cannot afford to have their money taken without compassion, understanding, or compromise. VacationsMadeEasy.com is punishing my children and dad for what?! Emergencies happen- we offered to supply proof of circumstances and still no solution.
Buyer beware - they will not make any accommodations for medical need. It feels like theft.
They emailed me after I emailed my concerns, asking me to call them. I stepped out of the room to get a solution- hoping this would give my family some reprieve from a hard day- but the concierge simply wanted me to understand that since I did not alert them on November 25th regarding the medical emergency that occurred on November 28th- no refund or considerations could be offered because I agreed to their return policy.
I acknowledge I agreed to the return policy. But emergencies do happen. And I think it is important that persons with severe disabilities are not punished when circumstances beyond their control alter the plan. Riga Tony's could do better by our family. Riga Tony's could do better for disabled veterans and persons. Riga Tony's could just do better.Business Response
