  First time using this tax service. Single mom, head of household, 1 w-2, proof of health insurance form, & my daughter's daycare form. I called after making an appt to ask what I would be charged with those 3 forms. I was told $155. The "tax pro" was not even there for my appt. So after 30 mins, I was asked to "leave them". I refused. So, another "tax pro" was designated to assist me. Once, she had my return and my bank account information. She proceeded to tell me the cost would be $385. And, because I couldn't pay by check as I had planned for the quoted $155. She said she could take it from my return but failed to mention that would be an additional fee of $30. With the total being $424. When I said, "this is crazy for a single filer standard deduction." She laughed and said "welcome to the Block" . More like welcome to **** I said and whoever answered the phone and quoted me $155, needs to be fired. Today!!. Worst tax service ever!! A complete scam. I was lied to and robbed. This was literally half of my pay check for me and my baby girl to live on. These people should be criminally charged and shut down. I would NEVER use them again. And, I will tell everyone I see what a HORRIBLE company they are. Shame on you lady and shame on you ***** Block for taking advantage of people. God doesn't like ugly!!!

  H&R Block of Winchester,Indiana charged me $495 to do my federal & state taxes . Last year I paid $270 I had less deduction I have 1 duplex I rent . I wont be going back I believe the manager cheated me out of the difference I wont be going back

  Experience with H&R Block for tax year 2022 has been atrocious.First I attempted to file an online tax return to be performed by a professional in late March. I uploaded documents and the online program said a tax professional would be reviewing the documents. After over a week, I inquire about what's going on. I'm told that "I used an old program that doesn't exist anymore" and get redirected to an existing service - ridiculous excuse/situation but at least someone is looking at things.I reuploaded all my files, takes days of prodding to get anything done, and she says my completed tax return is uploaded. But on the website it just redirects to an empty/broken file. I ask her to send it again to the same result. I get told to call customer support. I speak to multiple individuals over the course of my than hour none of whom are capable of helping **** decide to make an appointment with a physical/real-life H&R block office to finally get my taxes done in a way I can see/review/sign/pay. They decide to unilaterally cancel the appointment not understanding why I would make an appointment when my taxes were already "done". Did they send an e-mail/text/voice mail or change my status on the website? Did they keep the appointment anyway so we could discuss things? NO. They called once with what look like a spam number and considered the matter settled. When my family can to do our taxes they had again no one to help and could only schedule an appointment for days later, very close to the end of tax season.I've worked with H&R block on my taxes for years and never had nonsense like this happen. Most customers use H&R block because it's more convenient than trying to struggle through on their own. Never again! Appallingly incompetent service.

  NO STARS, 100% Guarantee is a SHAM!!!! I initially purchased Turbo Tax Premium and they didnt have the forms to file my NEW BUSINESS, so I purchased H&R Premium and Business Program specifically for the **** form and K-1 filing. After buying at Office Depot, went home to try and get started, couldn't find the website to put my Activation Code in. Called Customer Support, stayed on hold for awhile and then finally get a LIVE person and they couldn't help. Realized I had to be on ****** to get to the website. Created my account and started my return, this was not what I needed, and not user friendly. At this point I give up. I called the ***** to file the claim to return...on hold forever, no call back either when created a spot in cue.Pulled up 100% Grantee and did EXACTLY WHAT WAS REQUIRED!!!!! BELOW:Tax Software: If you are dissatisfied with the H&R Block tax preparation software for any reason before you file your return, H&R Block will refund the full purchase price you paid H&R Block or its authorized reseller for the software, exclusive of shipping and handling charges, taxes, and less any rebate you receive on the software.You must notify H&R Block of your dissatisfaction and the reason for your dissatisfaction with the software within sixty (60) days following your initial purchase of the software, and you must mail the original media or the original UPC code from the box and a copy of your original store receipt to H&R Block, postage prepaid, to this address: H&R Block Money-back Guarantee, P.O. Box *****, ***********, ** ***** Received 1st email to call. did, was on phone for over 30 minutes and the lady said they need my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER,WHAT?! NO you not getting it. I excalated to speak to supervisor....none came to phone are called me back. Took the survery with FAILED REVIEW and someone called me. They said they will help me......NOTHING! Received another email with new #, I called and the lady said without a Social they will not refund!!!!

  I only gave a star because it made me. Why I will never use H&R Block a day in my ever loving life.and beyond. SoLets be honest with each other. This company hires anyone. Anyone who is around. Regardless of their experience. There are many things in life I can handle. And when it comes to removing money from my paycheck, if I was to move as H&R does, Id be in Jail. Ive encountered people that have tried to embellish my job( i directed to the **** , Ive encountered Front desk folk signing me up for a service that has a different name in other stores. (Spruce/Emerald). Their bank (HR) gave me didnt have an address on the check, and ***** wouldnt verify, I spent over a week on the phone doing the job I paid H&R to do, only to be met with walls. No one can help you, no one knows who the bank is. BOTH chase and H&R outsource to India, which has to be the most hard to bear, as the level of immediacy is quelled or non existent. They take your money, its legit when they remove the funds to pay themselves, but the hard earned money thats I worked for, has to be verified. Rip off/ Scam. Never use their service if you can help it.

  Absolutely the worst decision you can make to hire H&R Block to prepare your taxes! They are a SCAM! FRAUD! LIARS! The scam is simple, convince you that everything is going to be great! While preparing my taxes the rep assured me all would be great! He told me We would be getting a federal refund and hid the fact that we would also be owing the ***************** to $1053.00! After we paid $250.00 for the Fraud we found ourselves involved in, we were blindsided with the fact that we would not get a refund from the state but in fact owe $1053.00! I went in to my HR department who gladly refigured my taxes to what should have been done this way prior, and funny thing is we received a $400.00 refund. Upon returning to H&R, I only asked for 1/2 of a refund due to the fed taxes being correct, but refund the mistake for State taxes. The ladies in the office told me "The problem with your (my) taxes was due to a new system being implemented from the *** and we will ask the owner if the amount you are requesting can be refunded" They called me to inform me I will receive only a $35.00 refund and a $50.00 coupon for next tears taxes. That won't happen. I will never use H&R for anything, ever! You can keep your coupon and I will not refer anyone to H&R. Please, make the best decision and use someone else for your tax preparation needs.

  The most incompetent support team I have ever had to deal with.Submitting my documents four weeks before taxes are due to have a tax professional work on them and my status was "hang tight we are working on them" for all four weeks.I tried calling to get a status update and not a single representative could help me. They would reroute my call, hang up, or just had no idea how to help solve my issue.You would think they would be equipped to provide tax status updates.NEVER AGAIN will I work with H&R Block.STAY FAR AWAY!

  I used this service for the first time this year. I originally scheduled an appointment but was called twice to say that they could not do a face to face appt, only virtual. I was reluctant but went along with it. I thought I would still have a virtual face to face which I never got. When asked about the pricing i was told it depends on how complext my taxes are. They are not complexed at all. I was charged 500 after a 143 discount. There was no indication that there would be any discussion going forward on how we can make adjustment for the next year, no advice and any changes we need to make. When I voiced my concern I was told that we would talk about what to do going forward. I have to say the preparer was professional but the fee did not coincide with the service. I could have walked in any tax service and paid less for the same service. I will never use H&R Block Advisors again. No one I discussed this with could believe what they charged us.

  ********* is the WORSE manager ever. I called at 9am asking if my documents were uploaded and she said yes - I asked her if I needed to keep my 6pm appt and she said no she would have one of her Tax Pro's send it off for our approval - I asked how long she said 2 hours - I told her that would be great - please cancel our appt. When after five hours they were not done I called - she said no she meant 2 days - I said I never would have cancelled my appt. She said you are not being nice and she hung up on me.
