  H&R Block screwed up my taxes by assigning someone who has no idea about ******** and ******** taxes. It took 1 month for someone else from H&R Block to fix my taxes and I had to keep bugging them until they fixed it. I had to pay a lot for them to do my taxes incorrectly the first time. When I complained, they gave me $50. The *** says I now owe over $500 because I am still waiting for my amended return to be approved. There is no one to complain to. When I call them hotline, nobody is helpful

  They filed this years tax form using the wrong w-4. We have late taxes owed and accrued penalties from the state. We were audited by the *** and now have penalties and taxes owed to the state. They refuse to give ** a refund on our tax preparation fees and are holding our amended taxes until we agree to sign their service agreement not holding them liable, even though weve already paid for the service. Worst experience ever. Wont help us at all because we wont use their services in the future.

  Took all of our w-2s to h&r block in 2021. Married filing jointly and the "tax professional" only put one of our w2's in. We got a letter from IRS saying we owe them money. We had the peace of mind so we thought we would be okay with the penalties and interest but no h&r block denied our claim. Saying we can't prove the tax pro didn't enter all the information in. Even though all of our w-2s were in the envelope from 2021...

  Had a horrible experience at a local office in *****, **. I specifically went to a tax professional to make sure I did everything right after purchasing an electric car the previous year. I did not want to miss out on any tax rebates. After taxes were filed, I discovered that consumers receive an additional rebate for installing a home charger for the car. Why did I have to discover this? Why didn't they ask me if I had done this when preparing my taxes (with a new electric car!). I tried to get the taxes amended and the office gave me the worst customer service and told me I would have to pay for it. "If I didn't turn it in with my original paperwork, it would not get filed." Since then I have repeatedly called the customer service line to no avail. No one has called me back and nothing is being done about the behavior I received. Unacceptable customer service and poor tax preparation. Will not be going back there.

  I went to H&R block (Eltingville, Staten Island, ****, *****) for a simple tax preparation, which turned into a very stressful ordeal for me. The tax advisor at this branch failed to file the appropriate tax form which led to me receiving a letter from the *** requesting the appropriate tax form & supporting documentation. I had to submit the additional tax form w/ supporting documentation to the *** at my own expense because my tax advisor didn't want to be bothered any further by their mistake. This service was far from the 100% accuracy guaranteed by H&R Block, nor was there any responsibility taken by my tax advisor to own the *************** to the *** notification on my behalf as an H&R Block client. I reached out to H&R block 7 times to file a complaint and follow-up on this bad experience, no one cared enough to get back to me. I would suggest that people stay away from H&R Block, and pay a little bit more money, if necessary, for a competent "CPA" at a reputable company.

  Used H&R Block for several years, in 2020 I filed my taxes using the online product. Paid the fees and filed my taxes like I have every year. Last year (two years later) started receiving letters that my 2020 state taxes did not go through. Ive heard the term glitch from not only H&R Block last year but also it was verified through IRS federal and state that H&R Block had problems that year. I had to recently pay an additional ***** to re file my 2020 state taxes but I still have penalties and late fees that H&R Block are responsible for and all they say is pay the ****** in penalties show proof of payment and then they might help. Honestly though on a 1 income household I cant afford this especially when its not my fault. After reading the reviews apparently Im not alone. Someone needs to investigate these issues.

  They need to arrested for lying and stealing people's tax returns talking about irs processing??? Oh it hasn't been processed but I haven't received an offset letter or refund because they stole it!!!!! It's the principle and Integrity and not the amount of the refund, like I said arrest them all and close shop h and r block permanently!!!!!!

  Although I gave all my tax return info to the H&R agent she failed to include retirement fund information in my 2021 taxes resulting in a letter from the **** The agent admitted she made the mistake and I had purchased the Peace of Mind Guarantee but apparently if you sign your tax return indicating you have furnished all your information or just signed the return in general they will not honor it and the agent is not held accountable. I used H&R for many years but they have lost my confidence. I would suggest if you use them that you may need to have the agent run out your tax return so you can review your taxes with someone else before signing anything, submitting them electronically or paying for their service. It will save you a lot of time and stress trying to get them to honor their contract when they make a mistake. They seem nice, knowledgeable and oh so helpful before they take your money but after you have paid its a different story as they start blaming you and then turn their corporate sharks on you to protect their profits. Note that if you call their service representative number they really arent much help other than to refer you to others who arent really able to help as well. So youll just have to **** it up, accept the loss/mistake, move on and find someone else to do your taxes.

  ********************* from the ************ office messed up my 2021 taxes and I had to pay to get the taxes amended. They owe me $445 between their services, amendment, and penalties/interests occurred. I tried to call but they just give me the runaround.
