  Used their online service to file my Indiana State taxes. I scanned in my W-2, they pulled the right county code but used the wrong county tax rate so I paid over $200 more than I should have. Called their customer support to see how to correct it since it was their mistake but couldn't get through to anyone. No matter what I said the only response I got was since I used the free product I wasn't eligible for help and to upgrade to a paid product. Why should I pay for them to fix their mistake?

  Tried to use hr block online. Lady from out of state had it. Couldn't do our taxes right cause she didn't know pa laws. Went down hill from there. H&R block filed our taxes and did them all wrong. Took fees from our return, didn't to local taxes or federal taxes the right way. Went to file an amendment to get them corrected then never told that there was another 99 dollar fee for doing such. So they never sent the amendment in after contacting pa. Now they are refusing to give us money they took from us to do our taxes wrong. Multiple phones calls to about 6 different people with no result. Late fees staking up from last years taxes that we were told not to pay because there was an amendment done and there wasn't. Now H&R refusing to give our money back from them that we paid for them to do our taxes because we didn't pay a 99 dollar fee that we were not told about. This business has been nothing but frustrating and a joke to deal with all the way around. Steer clear of this business. Do your taxes your self you will have better results.

  I was charged $410 for the following: Filing Federal Return, Filing State return (I lived in another state this year), filing rental income, and filing student loan interest. Filing my student loan interest deduction was $170 just by itself. This pricing was not given to me during my in-person meeting with a "tax pro" who was really just a frazzled temporary worker who is not licensed. I had to explain to her why I had 3 different W-2s from the same company (one is federal, one is from one state, one is from another state), after she insisted I needed a corrected W2. She was 30 minutes late for my first appointment, and after completing everything in my second appointment, when she said I completed everything and paid $410, the status in my portal still shows as "with a tax pro." So I don't actually know if they filed my taxes.

  I filed my taxes in 2020 and everything was fine, or so I thought. The NYS Department of Taxation and Finance contacted me in 2023 indicating that I owed them almost $4,000, because my taxes were filed incorrect. My taxes were filed and I paid federal taxes but not state taxes. After contacting H & R Block and taking them copies of the return, they realize that that did make the error and told me that they are not responsible for the error, even thought I had the paper work that stated, "accuracy guaranteed".
  They do a lot of double talk to try to define what "accuracy guaranteed" mean.

  Went to go do my taxes 2/5/24 and when I got to the end there was an error saying an abbreviation was not allowed. So they told me they would call tech support and give me a call with an update and never called. I messages them on the 6th and still heard nothing back until the next day stating that tech is still working on this issue. So I went to the building and they still was no help, and I finally found out my last name was an issue because it’s hyphenated. And remind you I been going to hr block since 2018. They told me oh we have a new system this year and we will escalate this issue and they still haven’t reached out it’s been days. This will definitely be my last year ever going to them. Horrible this year idk who hired these ppl

  falsely advertising prices. they force you to buy extra addons like audit security and peace of mind guarantee. I am told by the rep that this is optional, but there is no way that exists to take these things off. They will nickel and dime an extra 50-150$ from you before you actually file. The customer service number falsely claims that I am not a premium customer and will not take my calls at all. This is one of the grimiest businesses I've ever worked with. Will never come back.

  I filed and paid for ONE TIME with H&R Block online for my state taxes. H&R Block charged me THREE TIMES! If this is happening to everyone, they sure are getting a lot of money to use in the 5 days it takes to reverse the charges. Check the account you use to file immediately. Contact them and file your concern. If we all do this, maybe they will take notice. All I get is "sorry, we will refund the amount if your return wasn't submitted". I asked why, since I only submitted ONCE. They had no answer as to why.

  I have been using H&R Block for at least 5 years and never had a complaint. This year is my last year to use their company, First of all, the on-line appointment system is confusing as to choosing in-person preparer or drop off. I thought I had booked in-person when I chose an exact time to bring my papers in. (Why would you need an appointment if you are just "dropping off",) When I got there the receptionist desk was totally unoccupied. One of the preparers had to run out to help me, Poor thing was clearly frazzled. (several people waiting, by the way.) She looked me up on the computer and sure enough I did have an appointment- BUT only for drop-off. She gave me a form to check off what documentation applies to my visit. There was nothing that would help the preparer figure out the documentation I was concerned about. Since I would not see a preparer, I was very frustrated. My MAJOR ISSUE is the sloppy way the front office was handled. I imagined how much in danger my documents were in as they lay on an unattended desk. The "drop-off" box was a flimsy little plastic box with a broken lid. How safe is this??? I called the number listed on the website and the person answering said there were four people there when I told him there was no receptionist. The four people were preparers and I think he thought I would just go grab one of them to help. This was at the Brattleboro, VT office on 2/10/24

  They asked personal questions that must be answered or they said they can't e-file your refund. One of the questions were what do you do with your money. That has nothing to do with taxes and is none of their business.

  Terrible customer service. I have a $365 bill that I call customer service to ask what for and she tells me she has to put in a request to hear back from anyone. I started to question her position and she got irritated and cut me off for at least 25 seconds. Not allowing me to speak. Now I have been on hole for 35 minutes to file a complaint with someone else because she simply would not help me. Her name is Cindy so if you get her This company has now lost my entire families business. Crazy that one person can lose 5 peoples buisness simply because she doesnt know what customer service is. H & R block is laughable. I mean the 1.07/5 should tell you everything you need to know.
