  I went to H & R Block to get my taxes done on 3/14/2024 @ 1:00 pm. Paul S*******, specialist offered me a price of $70.00 to do my Federal & State taxes and when it came time to pay he changed the price to $149.00. I said no, I want to pay $70.00 as you promised.
  Paul refused to give me my taxes back unless I paid the $149.00. He said you choose to come here, I said no, Adrienne Lockett recommended I come to you as she sat by the door, when I walked in she said he was really good.
  I also received a coupon for $25.00 in the mail from H & B Block & Paul refused to use the coupon, too because he said I got a great deal & I am a senior citizen. He refused to not honor his promise.

  When a business goes out of its way to advertise $89, charges close to $200, and then when they make a mistake refuses to even acknowledge it, it makes you wonder. Is this company, are these people, soulless, evil, and in general bad? Maybe not, but interrupting someone when they're trying to speak on the phone, and failing to get a full refund when that's literally what you are supposed to do, I have things I have to pay for, $108 can mean the difference between me eating, or going hungry. My name is Timothy B********, your tax accountant Karen J****** in Hagerstown Maryland failed to get me a full refund, and then shrugged it off. Do better.

  Had H&R BLOCK file are 2023 taxes after it was supposedly filed we was to get $2556 on the federal taxes an pay $53 on state after 3 week an we didn't hear of anything I called them an was told the taxes wasn't filed they said it was because they had my name on there two times but they didn't call or even contact us any anyway. then they filed it again telling me the messed up an found that we was getting the $2556 on the federal taxes an we was getting back $377 on state taxes on another paper that we was getting back $466. we was told because they messed up on the paper work we didn't have to pay for it Also they told us they filed a hardship an that was supposed to mean if any money was owed it wouldn't come out but But in the end we are only getting back $1203.10 on federal taxes an pay the state $53 I would like H&R block to give us some compensation for all this.

  My tax lady Kimmley T****** was horrible , she left off information on my tax return , didn’t know how to resolve the problem, I had to get someone to fix the problem, how are you working at H&R Block and you can’t resolve a problem with someone taxes , please do not go to this location,,very unprofessional and incompetent, don’t waste your money please,

  H & R Block is the worst tax prep org. , I asked them for over 4 yrs to stop texting and hounding me about doing my taxes, they set up appointments without my knowledge and if you want to text them back it will cost you sms fees. There is no way to contact corporate or any management office as they are all privately owned, this business needs to be regulated better, the service and tax knowledge is real iffy, i will be going to a different tax prep next year , I wouldnt recommend this business to anyone , they dont listen to your needs or concerns.

  I recommend avoiding HR Block tax services! On 3-11-24 I paid HR Block $53.64 to purchase tax forms as a download. The downloaded software did not work and they attempted to gather all kinds of unnecessary personal data. After severely crashing my Mac (not easy to do) I deleted the junk software and tried to get help from HR Block by calling their office and calling the online support number. They were no help whatsoever and their phone support system is one of the worst I have experienced. Fortunately, my bank (Keybank) was able to help get my money back.

  I filled my 2021 taxes through this service and have as of yet to receive my money. The IRS dispersed the money in July of 2022. Hi& R Block kept it in a temporary account (path word/ meta bank). No fees were needed to be taken out. They still have not deposited the money in my account. We’ve tried to call people & even went in person to an office & no one is able to help. They advised me to call The Burea of Treasury, who said H&R Block has my money & the only one to access it through Meta Bank. I want my money.

  My wife and I had used H&R Block online tax services for years. For 2023, we decided to use the same Tax Pro who reviewed our 2022 return, but this year have her generate the tax return.
  
  When it was time for us to approve her work, she changed the IRS PINs of my wife and me without our knowledge or consent. We therefore could not approve the 2023 tax return electronically (she only offered us the Docusign option) and we had to provide banking information to her over the phone in order to submit our eFile tax refund to the IRS due only a few days away.

  Customer service is deplorable. Had a promotion to save $25 on the on-line premium returns. When they charged me full price I called customer service - gave up after 32 minutes on hold.
  Received an email after filing stating that my account information had been changed. If I hadn't made the change I was to contact them immediately which I did.
  Again, gave up after waiting on hold for 20 minutes.
  Won't be using them next year!

  Good service but annoying product selection process. At one point when preparing my taxes I was prompted to select the form I was using to enter information (Consolidated 1099). Without notice this automatically "upgraded" me to a higher tier (and more expensive) product which I did not need. I was unable to revert back to the original product without either contacting support or deleting and restarting my taxes over again. I didn't care enough to go through the hassle for $30 difference but that is a pretty scummy business practice changing what product I was trying to use and putting barriers up when trying to change back to what I actually wanted. Enjoy your extra $30 this year and maybe I'll enjoy taking my $100 somewhere else next year...
