  I have used Block for years, but with so many free tax services they have become disparate. This year after I paid $80 Block informed me repeatedly that the IRS rejected my taxes so that I would reach out to a tax 'expert'. H&R Block has no tax 'experts' they employ AI designed to fleece its customers. Hit & Run Block is the worst possible tax program. Read the news regarding the Block scam.

  Do not go there ! They gave me a quote for 270.00 to do my self employment taxes then charged me 420.00 for half an hr .. and lied about giving me a quote they are very crooked. Will never ever go there again. Very upset

  I AM A SENIOR citizen for the last year and have RETIRED only getting social security monthly. I have used this office in Twin Lakes WI before but this year I am going to pick up my forms to go elsewhere. $ 277.00 Fee crazy! and was told no advanced refund available and was told the fee was so high due to all the work that needed to be done... PLEASE give me a break!!! I asked if a senior discount was available and of course was told NO. If I would score 0 for the service that too. Almost a month to get a response I would. $277.00 would mean I would be without food or dumpster diving to eat. SHAME ON H&R BLOCK FOR BEING SO HEAERTLESS... Thank you

  Haven’t filed with H&R Block in years. Filed this year and they took my whole refund for what they say was a old emerald advance loan but can’t give any paperwork to show and we have never got a letter or a call referring to that. We also have the same numbers and lived at the same address for over 20 years. Upset because we need answers.

  I have been using H&B for 20 years at another office. This year I moved so I filed with the above office. The lady Amber was very nice but quick. I usually get my refund immediately on an emerald card. For some reason it denied me and she didn't know why..I waited 30 days no refund on my card I looked up where is my refund and it said it had been delayed so irs could check my identity so I went back to the H&R office to talk to Amber. She no longer worked there. I explained what had happened and they told me to wait for the letter in the mail with directions so I did Tham when I received the letter I couldn't answer the questions so I went back to that office and spoke to somebody else and was advised the Amber never gave me a copy of my return..I would like my 190.00 dollars back for all this inconvenience and 3 months later I am still waiting. I am very disappointed in them after all these years

  WARNING: H&R Block. They gave me very old information on how much to put in for mileage for medical visits. It was not one year old (for 2022 instead of 2023) but two years old. This was on the H&R website for 2023 taxes due by April 15 2024 in the posted amount and in the calculations. When I contacted H&R block to report this error I was told that H&R Block will go on the website and fix this but I was also told H&R Block does not guarantee anything and can only go by what the IRS tells them. When I questioned how often they check the IRS publications for changes from one year to the next, it was repeated that they have to wait for the IRS to notifiy them??? When I asked why they have to wait to be notified since all the information is available to anyone on the IRS site, I was also told someone would email me within a week; that was over a month ago. I easily and accidentally found the medical mileage info on the IRS government site when looking up meal reimbursement for medical (H&R Block did not have clear info on this) so I checked the IRS site. If I had gone with what H&R Block had posted on their site, I would have gotten less back on my taxes than what I deserved. If you used them to file taxes in 2024 or 2023 and listed medical miles, you got less back. Worse, what else do they have wrong? How can you trust anything on their site? I asked this question as well and got no answer. There are sites which let you file an itemized form for free (just google freetax) - H&R Block is not one of them - and they do check IRS publications for changes every year. Luckily this was the first year I tried H&R Block and I caught their mistake but I would be really unhappy if that was not the case. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

  I was very surprised to experience H & R Block engage in a Bait and Switch and utterly fail to complete my tax returns. H&R Block represents that their platform handles State Tax returns in addition to Federal Tax returns. Signing onto the online platform, after completing my Federal tax return, after starting my Virginia State tax return, the site informed me that H&R block does not handle this State online and I would need a "Pro" at an additional cost of $99. Reluctantly, I paid the fee. I was informed to expect to be contacted by a "Pro" within 1-2 days. The site states that customers can chat with "Pros" online which I was unable to do. I was never contacted, even after having telephone representatives "expedite" that contact twice during the next 8 days. I have just now requested a refund and will engage another Tax preparation service.

  The worst tax experience I've ever had. Actually one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. I went to the one in shelby, North Carolina.
  
  The person who prepared the return missed some forms which included interest and additional tax I had paid. They were supposed to call me on my appointment so I could make sure they did my taxes properly. They did not call at the appointed time.
  
  A couple of hours Later when she called and I realize that she didn't seem to be aware of how I declare principle I have received on 2 houses that I'm getting installment payments on, I asked if she was a CPA. She then handed the phone to somebody else. That person was horrible. Her name is Carrie B and I will be filing a complaint with H&R Block and the board that regulates CPAs.
  
  All she could do was argue with me right from the beginning. To tell me that the 1098 mortgage interest statements I sent to the people who have paid me mortgage interest was unacceptable because I had hand printed it. She said it wouldn't hold up in a court of law. That sounded ridiculous because I am declaring interest that I'm sure the IRS would like to know about. She could not answer the question of how do I declare the principle I also received.
  
  Instead, she tells me that she's going to have to end the conversation because I have blacked out my social security number on the forms that I brought into their office. She said my Social Security wouldn't be able to be verified.
  
  She was just very rude and hung up on me.
  
  I checked with the IRS and there was no issue as they accept handwritten 1098 forms and do what they can to protect social security. They now allow employers to redact Social Security numbers from W-2 forms. So, me doing it was a non-issue. Carrie was just too insecure and felt inferior because she couldn't answer my question. So she tried to make me feel like I'm at fault.
  
  All for the tax Pros I spoke to there didn't seem to know much of anything. Beware if you go there.

  I have had the worst experience of my life with this Tax Company. I started my tax filling process on 2/29/24 and it has been almost a month and no one has resolved the issue they themselves caused. The Tax Advisor that assisted me is names Sophiea Lage. I uploaded a total of four documents and went over the documents with her and everything seemed great. On day two, I get an email letting me know my documents are ready and for me to go pay the amount due for their service. I logged in to my account and before I can even see my documents, it prompted me to pay first. I went ahead and submitted payment. Once I did that, I was able to see the processed documents and I noticed she had missed one of the Tax Forms. It prompted me to continue or go back and send the Tax Advisor a message letting her know my concern. And that is when the nightmare begin. They refunded me the money back and told me that the missing form will be uploaded and that it might take 2-3 days for me to see it online and once I see it, I can go ahead and resubmit payment. It has been almost a month and nothing has been done. I see that all forms are now added, but I am not able to resubmit payment because according to them, there's been a technical issue and they are waiting for it to be resolved. It has been almost a month and here I am still waiting for this to be resolved so that I can finally get this done and over with. I can not even explain the amount of times I have called the office trying to speak with Sophiea Lage and she won't return my calls. I had tried Susan Tilley the office manager as well an still nothing. I had to call H&R Block Customer Support and create a case number. Once the case number was created, someone contacted Susan Tilley directly and then, I finally heard from her. And until this day, all I hear is excuses and nothing has been resolved. This has caused me a lot of tears and headaches filled with stress. I just want to be heard and have someone advocate for me. Thanks
