  For the last 3 years H&R Block Louisiana has been doing my Tax filling and this year they over charged me from the previous year for the same service. I question them about the overcharge the local H&R office said I would have to, and I made contact with H&R Corporate Headquarter for reimbursement and to date still remains unresolved ... Do not use H&R Block !!!

  I just did the e-file of our taxes. Although there are glitches in the software program that's not my complaint. Once I got to the point of e-filing my federal & state returns. it comes to 9.95 more than what I expected. My state tax filing was 19.95, but my federal e-filing was not "free" as indicated on the box, but now charged $9.95. I have only one federal tax return. I tried to find a way to contact the company, but did not want to be on hold for 45 minutes as the machine indicated. Why are they now charging for the "free" filing. I've used this software & nothing on my end has changed.

  2022 taxes were filed October 17, 2023 with an extension. It is now six months later in April 2024 and my taxes still have not been electronically filed. My so called “Tax Professional” Mary Lewis who works out of The Dalles, Oregon office is very unresponsive and exhibits piss poor customer service. I’d like to see some kind of formal discipline bestowed upon her. I’d also like a response as to why six months later my taxes are not filed. I’d expect H&R Block to cover any and all fees that the IRS and the State of Oregon are going to charge me.

  DO NOT use H&R Block, especially the office at *** ****** ****** *** **** **** ***** - Mojit M*****! Stalled me for a week with the excuse of technical issues - no one answers the phone & he never called - for what he said was an easy return. I went in every day! I took back my documents & now will have to file an extension. And don’t expect their $85 charge. If you are a senior you will pay MORE because you get a social security statement!

  This was the worst experience! We trusted Cindy H***** in Beaufort, SC with our business taxes just to walk out the door with an unsettling feeling. She was rude and disrespectful during our visit with her. We had everything prepared ahead of time to make the process smooth. She incorrectly put in numbers and then some numbers she did not even apply. This made us owe the IRS over $3,000. When we questioned her about why this amount, she said this is just how it is. When we told her that the numbers we figured didn't match hers and that we should not be owing that much, she proceeded to compare our business taxes with her sons. Everything she did she compared to her son's business taxes. Our taxes are not her sons, and no taxes are the same. Any time we questioned something or wanted to know why it was different she treated us with responses that made us look like morons and idiots. She was asked not to process them to the IRS and told that we wanted to look over everything, but she took it upon herself to submit them. She never went over any of the steps she was taking throughout the filing and never asked questions or explained anything. In the end, we were very upset and confused but she still would not treat us with respect and help explain anything. She took the $500 charge for services and then turned her back on us and walked away. We paid a lot of money for her to complete our taxes just to have to go meet with a different agent the next day and have the taxes fixed. We found out that she inputted numbers incorrectly and some things she never even put in. The other agent had to fix everything and request an addendum through the IRS in hopes that it wasn't fully processed, and then we had to pay additional funds for services due to her negligence. I would never recommend her or this location for taxes. They do not treat you right, rip you off financially, and put you at risk with the IRS for false filing.

  I tried to get help to buy the deluxe version and their site would not let me pay for stating all I needed was the free version. I tried calling their support line for help on how to pay for their software and their automated system would not let me talk to a person.
  
  I went back over to TurboTax and got help on the phone right away with out having to pay any money up front. Because I got help on the phone with out having to pay first they were the guys who got my money and not H&R Block.
  
  Please do not use them. I waisted 4 hours trying to fix and issue and could not get support.
  
  This was for the 2023 tax year.

  H&R Block's questions on my 2021 return led me to believe I could take the Tuition Tax Credit for South Carolina. I answered all questions truthfully and their page two information said I was due the credit. When I was audited and realized that the software did not actually address the South Carolina tax law as stated on the direction pages in the law itself, but just looked at the fill in pages only, I found that even though I answered the software questions correctly, the questions did not represent all of the law and directions on the paperwork South Carolina provided for that purpose. Please do not use this program. It does not represent your state's laws accurately and when it is brought to their attention they respond that YOU should have known the tax laws from your state. Why in the world would I need their tax software if that was the case.

  Giant waste of time using their services. It took almost 3 months for them to get my taxes filed.
  Every time I sent a message to follow up, they kept pushing it farther to the right. They asked me to submit documents that I had already sent SEVERAL times. The week before I was supposed to have my final appointment, I broke my ankle. I called and asked if I could do a virtual appointment, and they said yes. I waited for 20 minutes on the virtual appointment, only to be told that I could NOT do a virtual appointment, and that I needed to come into the office. I drove to the office with a broken ankle.
  When I arrived, I was told that they had given me misinformation that required me to pay back money on the federal side. They had NO idea how to use their new system, and couldn't figure out how to do direct deposit. They said that I need to go to IRS.gov myself to pay. What is the point of even paying them at that point? They printed off more papers for more signature and more instructions on how to do things myself that they are supposed to do. They also have a bunch of random fees that they try to add to the cost of their services. This place is absolute garbage. Do not go here.

  when purchasing the 2023 tax software from amazon, the graphics for federal + state offerings are misleading. Once loading all information in, determining taxes, a state fee is requested even though the ads strongly insinuate state is included.
  
  hr block does offer federal + state options (or at least the descriptions state they offer this).
  
  after contacting customer support, the representative said no such offering ever exists, even though it's clearly offered as one of the multiple options
