on 12/18/2024 Quick Response Towing illegally towed my vehicle from an unmarked parking space. The space was in between a handicap parking space with lines for parking. There was no marking of any information concerning the space other than it was legal to park where I parked. The spaces next to my car were marked handicap. When we went to retrieve the car from the tow company, we were told that the car was towed because it was in a handicap space if that was the issue my car had a handicap sticker that is registered with the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles in the window when the car was towed. If that is why the car was towed it was illegally towed, and I should receive my money back. This towing happened seven days before Christmas, and I believe that this towing company was out targeting people and using the disability parking space area to illegally tow cars. I'm asking that you contact this company with my complaint and hopefully there can be a resolution to resolve this issue.

On November 12, 2024. I arrived for a medical appointment and spoke with the security guard about where to park. He directed me to a parking area. I left my car at 9:47 a.m, upon my return at 10:50 a.m. my car was gone. I called the tow company along with the security guard who directed me to the parking area and was told where I parked was overflow parking for ********* and I would need to pay ****** cash to retrieve my vehicle. Why is the business cash only? Why are there no signs reading " ********** overflow parking only"?This is poor business practices at best and predatory.

I am contacting BBB because I would like to file a complaint against the Quick Response Towing Inc. at 531 S. Caton Ave and the ******* ** **** ** ******* **.

The signs posted around the parking lot clearly state that one must remain on property of the store in order to avoid being towed. I followed the rule and still my car got towed on October 1st 2024 at approximately noon.

I noticed a security officer at the entrance to ******* and a tow truck for QRT in the parking lot (in violation of Md. Code, Transp. § 21-10A-04 (a)(7)).

Despite having a receipt from Safeway, both entities claim that my entire party walked off property and they claim ******* made a call for the owner of my car while I was inside of the store. Neither of which happened to my or my party's recolation.

I spoke with four different people at QRT about their towing policy, as well as two different ******* employees including the manager. All six individuals gave conflicting information, including about what the signs themselves say.

When I asked for further clarification of wrongdoing and showed my receipt to QRT staff, QRT reiterated the cost of the car tow and to please hand over my license. When I asked to see my car and take pictures ensure no damage had occured (as is my right under Md. Code, Transp. § 21-10A-05 subsection (c)(3)(1)), I was told no such law exists and I could contact Baltimore City Towing Board if I had any complaints. When I asked for the Board's number QRT told me I could have it after I paid them.

When I did retrieve my car and I asked for my receipt where the Board's number would be, QRT threatened to tow me again.

I've already contacted the Baltimore City Towing Board to file a complaint with them as well.

Is there a public record of complaints against Quick Response Towing Inc? I request you forward any information you have on such an information base.

Thank you for filing my complaint.

Quick response towing steals tenants cars late at night. I have videos. I see them doing it. They have spotters who come up here with a flashlight looking to get into people's cars to take their permit and then the tow truck comes and gets it. They have the worst reviews . And all the reviews are basically the same STEALING CARS. THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN . ****

This business (or more accurately, a racketeering organization) hires spotters to sit outside of designated lots and call the tow company when there is a supposed violation. My car was parked at 2:45, and towed at 3:01. There were two men hanging out around the parking lot, not doing anything but talking and watching. Additionally, the business did not get Authorization from the property owner to tow, had a damaged sign in the lot which did not display the information required by law, and did not inform the police department of the towing incident. This company should be shut down and should have its license revoked. It is a criminal enterprise that the city government has not yet shut down. They exist entirely for the purpose of preying on people. The government needs to protect the people from criminals like these.

We dont typically answer complaints like this due to the nature of criminal accusations that are clearly not true. I would advise that this person file charges in court so that I can counter sue with camera and audio evidence. Thank you

    Dear Quick Response Towing,

I am writing to you in the hopes of resolving this matter between us without having to go to court.
On Thursday July 18, 2024, my KIA Sorento was towed from ******** while I was still inside the ******** establishment or within the parking lot. I am seeking to retrieve the $370 towing fees that I unjustly paid.

I want to believe that this can still be solved without having to take the legal route. That said, I must inform you that if I do not hear from you by July 27, 2024 then I will have no other choice but to take legal action against you. In the event of a lawsuit, I intend to seek redress to the fullest extent allowed by law, including but not limited to additional damages, court costs, legal fees, and accrued interest.

I would much prefer to work something out with you. Please consider my request.

    Sincerely,
    ******

Our company, *******************************, is a healthcare provider of medical equipment and supplies. The state licenses us as a residential service agency provider. The *** certificate is attached. Our delivery technician delivered medical equipment, supplies, and medications to patients in the apartment building at ******************************************************, at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024.Our technician had parked the company van close to the building to carry the boxes with medical supplies to the patients inside; the vehicle had been parked there for less than 8 minutes.Quick Response Towing company towed our company vehicle within 2 minutes without regard for it being a medical delivery vehicle. They demanded $600 IN CASH to release our vehicle. Patients equipment, supplies, and meds were in the van which caused interruptions and delays for patients. We asked *******, the manager at QUICK RESPONSE TOWING, if we could pay with a company credit card or check to release our van, to which her response was: CASH ONLY OR YOU DO NOT GET YOUR VAN. She has also said that $600 is the rate set by Baltimore City. Our stranded employee had no choice but to return to the office; he did not have $600 in cash, and neither did our office, as we are a healthcare provider and do not deal with cash. I've attached the receipt (handwritten receipt from QUICK RESPONSE TOWING). QUICK RESPONSE TOWING, Inc.'s actions are a pure form of racketeering, and we request that they refund our company $600 that was forcefully obtained.According to state law, companies are strictly prohibited from demanding cash-only payments. Therefore, we believe this company's actions violate our rights and engage in fraud and tax evasion. We are asking you to investigate Quick Response Towing******'s actions, as we are sure that we are not the only victims of this. We are requesting a full refund from QUICK RESPONSE TOWING due to medical delivery.

Quick Response Towing towed my handicap vehicle because it was parked in two parking spots. However, I'm in a power wheelchair and need handicap parking. There were no handicap parking available. They towed my handicap van and charged me double.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/01/2024

The question here is whether or not the vehicle was parked legally or illegally. Handicapped vehicles are required by law to follow the laws prescribed like any other vehicle. This vehicle was not parked in a handicapped prescribed area. The vehicle was parked where common cars would park, and taking more than one space. If they need to unload equipment they can still park in one space and unload it into another empty space. The question is why does the vehicle itself have to be parked in 2 spaces. Also if the vehicle is fixed with lift gates and other equipment that make the gvw of the vehicle over 10,000 pounds it will be charged as a medium duty tow, 600.00.
