I just received an invoice for $813.93 from Meditation Recovery Center, on behalf of ***************, stating I need to pay this amount by 02/28/2025. My mother took me to get dental work with SmileDirectClub after I graduated ************ boot camp over 6 years ago. I have never once received a bill, invoice, or any notice of a due payment from SmileDirectClub, and my mother claims all payments were made. I made a payment of $325.57, which this company claims is a discounted one time payment, but I did this before my mother let me know that no money should be due.Business Response

This business contacted me on the basis of collections. I was contacted by another collection, Capitol Accounts, in 2022 for the same thing. It is 100% fraudulent. It was reported to the ***. My surgery was in 2019, which is also when I received the device. On ******************, it goes for $199.95. Amazon cheaper. Capital Accounts was trying to collect $5995.00 from me. The **** said I had an account with National Durable Medical with account number NDM### The address for National Durable Medical is **********************************************************************************************. When you ****** map it it will shows the tag but when you street view it, it is actually a church. The # on it, ************ is a non working number. The phone number BCBS had on file is ************ is also a non working number. They also had a different address, ************************************************. Street view that one and the only sign visible is a photography shop. When I did a *** search that was provided on that page for National Durable Medical it came up with the latter address and yet another non working #, ************. The *** search (**********) also revealed that the business also goes by ************************************. Same address and same non working #. The name, *********** *****, that turns up numerous times as the president of the company. When looking him up with the address, it turned up this **********************************************************************************************************************. The supervisor at Capital Accounts very quickly told me that the debt is not a concern and sent me a letter via email saying the debt has been satisfied. Obviously, this fraud is being perpetuated and my information has been shared. The man from MRC, tried to get me to settle for $2200 when I tried to explain, he interrupted. When I told him not to interrupt, he hung up on me. Its 100% a scam. They should be prosecuted. Some folks fall for these scams. Shameful.Business Response

On January 03, 2025 I received a notice stating I have a debt obligation that is significantly past due from St ****** Med Center J. They say I owe a balance of$287.80 and this payment must be paid by 1/31/2025. "This offer expires 1/31/2025." I have never stepped foot at this said Med Center nor have I sought medical services anywhere. There is no explanation on what I am being billed for because it's a total scam. I need to find a resolution and definitely don't want a scamming collection agency to ruin my credit report.Business Response

Mediation Recovery has been calling me and my relatives continuously leaving a voice message asking to call them back to avoid litigation. They also send text messages throughout the day. Every time I call them back they confirm my social security number and birthdate and tell me that they are trying to collect a debt. When I ask them the creditors name, they tell me its Lend Nation and it involves a payday loan. I continue to tell them that I have never had a payday loan in my life. They tell me that they will mark the case down as refusal to pay and that they will see me in court, then they abruptly hang up. Sometimes when I speak with them, I ask them to send me a bill and they say they will mark the case down as refusal to pay, they will see me in court, then they abruptly hang up again. Sometimes I tell them that I will report them to the authorities and I receive the same response and they hang up. Today I told them to call my attorney, and they responded that I need to have my attorney call them, and they hung up.This company is a complete scammer. They somehow received my birthdate and social security number and continue to harass me and my relatives.Business Response

I am not showing this consumer in our system or the number on this complaint was not called by Mediation Recovery Center. You have the wrong company. The company you are talking about is most likely Mediation Services(aka Mediation ***************** which is not us. They are located in **, and we are in ********. We do not have a consumer's name or phone listed in our database. Their tool-free number is ************ and their website is ********************************. We get complaints all the time in regard to this agency. We record all calls from a third-party phone service and would be more than happy to prove we did not call you. Sorry for the confusion. Can you give the number they were calling from? If so I can see who the agency that was calling youInitial Complaint

I was contacted multiple times by phone by ******** stating they were attempting to collect a debt in the amount of $5995.00 on behalf of ************************ for a Limb Compression Device to Prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis. I received a letter dated 12/4/24 stating this balance and offering I can settle now for $2,997.50. I spoke with the ********************* in ************ ** that performed this surgery June 2018 and was told that I have no outstanding charges. I spoke to my insurance company; ***** and they state that all claims have been paid. I was never billed by National Durable Medical, or anyone else for this device. I find it shocking that the facts of my situation practically match others on the BBB site. I believe this is a scam because it has been about 6+ years since my procedure, and I have never heard of this claimBusiness Response

On 12/16/24 I received notice of an attempt to collect an outstanding debt from the Mediation Recovery Center for the amount of $1,495.00. The statement said the original creditor was National Durable Medical. I called the Mediation Recovery Center at the number ************ and asked to speak to someone. They told me this bill was from a doctor (whom I had previously seen), for a medical device that was not covered by my insurance. I told them I do not have and have not had a durable medical device. The person I spoke to asked me if I wanted to settle the amount now at a discounted rate. I told him no I would be calling my doctor's office and the insurance company if necessary. I called the doctor's office and they told me I do not have any outstanding balance with them and that they do not use debt collection offices for any of their billing. I believe these people are trying to scam me. Additionally, I am 65 years old and I believe it is a felony to scam a senior citizen.Business Response
