I supposedly have a debt from 2020 from a certain furniture company. Didn't own a house back then so apparantly the fake version of me they have somehow decided it was a good idea to buy a sofa or whatever it is that people by from R.3.N.T.A.C.3.N.T.E.R lmao and then sent me a letter to intimidate me more. Idiots think that's enough to scare me. The debt doesn't even show up on my credit report! If you get a call from anyone associated with this 'company' it is a scam. Their physical address (as listed on their website, **************************************) is not real.Review from Pat U

I received a debt collection letter from MRC (Mediation Recovery Center) on behalf of National Durable Medical. The debt was for a limb compression medical device from 2018. I have never received a bill or ANY notification that a debt was outstanding. This is the first I am hearing about an unpaid charge. MRC offered to accept a discounted amount if I paid the requested amount and it would be considered paid in full. According to the State ***** ************** a debt over 4 years cannot be pursued by lawsuit. This is outrageous and unethical!!!Review from Ian S

Absolutely a scam. Every call center servicing ******** companies are provided a list of numbers that cannot be contacted. These are numbers belonging to politicians, government figures, high ranking positions within specific government agencies, etc. I possess one of those numbers. When I questioned the man on the phone, he hung up. When I called back, there was no information about who I was calling, and the line led directly to the young man who had called me. No phone tree, no official professional greeting. As best I can tell, it was leading directly to a landline or a cellphone. There was no voicemail set up so it rang until he finally answered, and he did so with a simple "hello?" (cautiously, almost like he knew exactly who was going to be on the phone when he picked it up) rather than a greeting. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he just covered the phone for a moment and then pretended to be a supervisor. Here's a tip for anyone reading this: a debt collector will always tell you they're collecting a debt, they don't threaten lawsuits. If Someone calls you threatening a lawsuit over a payday loan, hang up on them. Certain debts may lead to wage garnishment, but those will come from a governing body, not a "debt collector".Mediation Recovery Center Inc. Response

You have the wrong company. The company you are talking about is most likely Mediation Services(aka Mediation ******* Services) which is not us. They are located in **, and we are in ********. We do not have that consumer's name or phone listed in our database. Their website is www.mediationac.org. We have voicemails that pickup after 5 rings and we do not garnish or threaten to garnish. Please call back that number and ask who they are or supply the number and I can do that for you. We use a third party service for phones and recordings so if you were able to give me the number that called you I can confirm that would not us uReview from Giovanni S

Contacted about an unpaid bill for a medical device that they said my Dr ********** and my insurance provider did not approve.I asked for them to send me details via email, and what they sent me was 2 PDF files that had bare minimum information that had been filled out using a PDF editor. Any spaces that needed a signature did not contain one. One included a shipping tracking number, another included a "On File" entry. And the only other "signature" was of someone that they claim was a representative of the original business that they said went out of business. They also sent me a "copy" of the insurance claim form which again was a PDF file that had bare minimal information and no signatures. The total amount charged $7995 was listed. I contacted my insurance company and they said they have no record of a claim submitted and not approved with the details provided on this PDF Edited "Claim Form" that they sent.Scam.Review from Melissa S

Is it possible to give zero stars? I got a call from a number this morning I did not recognize. I sent it to voicemail, but no voicemail was left. I called it back and an person answered the phone only stating there name, but what the business was. I assumed it was a wrong number or a scam. I then got a callback from the rudest person I have ever dealt with in collections. Interrupted me, would not listen & told me that I was absurd because I told him I needed to verify this and that people have stolen my ID before. I called back and again the person answered not stating the company name, but just their name as if you called a personal number and not a business. I spoke with a manager verified the info. & let her know I will verify this is my bill before I pay it. It is from 2018 & my number has not changed, so why has NO ONE contacted me before this? I check this site and see how bad the reviews are & that they are scams. I worked in 2018 for for the hospital in which I found this doctor works. I handled the collections for that hospital then too. I was told it was for an ankle brace. Checked my medical records and I never had an ankle brace. I also do not ow them anything. SCAM, SCAM,SCAM!!!!!Review from Lisa W

My husband kept receiving numerous phone calls and letters stating that he owed a balance of $622.50 from a past 'MEDSTAR' bill. He felt it was a scam. I was trying to discern if it was a legitimate outstanding bill or a scam. I called them and they informed me it was an outstanding medical bill from 'MEDSTAR' from February 2011 and that was all the information they could give me. When I spoke with them on the phone (last year - January 2022) they offered me a 50% discount on the bill and said I could pay it off that day if I paid $311.25. At this point I thought it was a legitimate outstanding bill that he didn't remember, so I paid it off. Shortly after paying it I was still nervous if it was a scam and then I came across this site with a number of complaints that seemed very similar to our experience. I wish I would have never spoken with them or paid this outstanding 'bill'.Review from Curtina W.

I have received several bills and calls from Mediation Recovery Center ********************************** in regard to a bill for$2013.79 in which they are asking for $1409.65. The debt is not valid as I have no outstanding debt especially this amount. They have not been able to furnish an itemized bill as I requested. This is an unlawful practice to collect on an invalid debt or to obtain any personal information from me. I am truly disgusted with such "business" practices.Review from Rachel H

I received a collection letter on a ******** account. This account was part of a class action lawsuit that required Blue-chip financial to forgive these loans based on racketeering business practices in the ****** vs. Zest lawsuit. It's very deceptive to attempt to collect money on a situation that was court ordered to be adjusted to a zero balance and removed from credit reporting.Mediation Recovery Center Inc. Response
