Mediation Recovery Center is harassing me, trying to get me to pay for a bill I have already paid. I have received multiple calls, all from different phone numbers Theyve never left a message. I looked up a couple of the numbers on ****** and there are reports about many different scam calls from them. I received a letter from them the other day, offering me a deal if I sent payment immediately. The bill was for something from National Durable Medical.i paid this bill in full on 9/19/2022 to Capital Accounts. My account number with them was *********.Business Response

On 3-10-25 and 3-12-25, I was contacted by Mediation Recovery Center. Rep ****** ********) was rude, used stiff arm tactics, and would not allow me to speak. ***** said I owe $5995 for a Limb Compression Device that was prescribed to me on 5-23-19 by my doctor from National Durable Medical (no longer in business). Why am I only now hearing about this bill almost 6 years later? *** rep ***** said if I paid now, the fee would only be $2,500. ***** said that he would report me to the credit agencies if I didn't pay and hung up on me. I called back and spoke with his supervisor *** *****. The supervisor said I could extend the due date from 21 days to just over a month (4-18-25). On 3-12-25, MRC rep ******) contacted me again. ***** was rude, inferred that I was lying, and would not allow me to speak. ***** said that his bosses would not allow the due date extension (pressure tactic). Because MRC rep ******) was rude, I spoke to his supervisor. Now, *** will only charge me $1,800 (pressure tactic).I contacted my physicians office, medical scheduling ***** and medical ins company. No outstanding balances were seen for the compression device. I was not contacted by ************************ nor their successor **********************) about this claim. If you ****** the address for National Durable Medical, there is nothing there ***********************************************) and the phone ***************) is disconnected. I cannot contact the company that allegedly says that I have an outstanding balance.I have a good credit rating and I pay bills on time. I'm concerned that *** will try to ruin my credit for an issue I'm not responsible for. I'm concerned that *** may have my medical information which is a HIPPA concern. The BBB website shows I am not the only person who had difficulties with MRC for this same issue. Legal council advised me to no longer take phone calls from *** due to scam concerns. BBB - Please correct this injustice against me. Thanks.Business Response

I believe I have been a victim to being scammed regarding a debt that I was told that I owed from years ago. I received a letter in the mail. I didn't take any second thought to it being a scam. I called the contact provided and ended up setting monthly payments in attempt to pay off this said debt. However, I have visited their website and the information provided is very vague, which led me to think maybe their was something suspicious about the organization. I tried to access my account for card information but it doesn't allow me to. The site seems to be strictly to make payments which is odd. It doesn't even show my payment history, though this is reflected in my bank account payments. I then began researching reviews online regarding this company and the complaints the exist regarding the scams people have experienced which sound similar to mines. If this is the case, I would like to know how I can close this case. I plan to call this company and my bank tomorrow..Business Response

These people have contacted my family members and have called repeatedly. They state I have a balance due to smile direct. I was told ****** to close the collections out. I have asked THREE times to please send any and all documentation to my home address which I have given them over and over. Nothing has been received. This account was closed and paid. They are contacting relatives and harassing them. It's wrong not to mention illegal and very very embarrassing. I want them to stop immediately.Business Response

On 2/26/25, my husband received a phone call asking for me. When my husband stated I wasn't there and *** was calling, he was hung up on. My husband called back to get more information and was told that Mediation Recovery Center (MRC) was trying to collect payment for a leg compression device from 5 years ago. They stated that they had mailed us numerous times, however, we have never received anything in the mail and this was the first phone call. The *** on the phone emailed my husband a bill for $2985. My husband then spoke to my doctor *** confirmed that all of our bills had been paid and that the surgery center had since been closed. From reading other complaints about ***, this is exactly the same complaint as others. I emailed ***, asking them to confirm closure of my account, but have not received any response.Business Response

This company has called ******* relatives several times from different local numbers claiming theyre a mediation legal group that deals with civil law. I finally answered the call and theyre claiming I owe over $800 for a Cashnet loan from over 9 years ago. (I have absolutely no knowledge of this) As soon as I told the representative that the call was being recorded on my end he abruptly hung up the phone. If this WAS a true debt, the statute of limitations on any legal action has long expired. Very much a scam, fraudulent and not to mention illegal.Business Response

I received several phone calls Mediation Recovery Center debt collectors. The calls seemed to come from a few different phone numbers, I took one of their calls and they stated I owe National Durable Medical $3495.00 for a limb compression device dating back to a surgery on 5/1/18. Following surgery, I was sent home with no medical device, nor did I receive one at a later date. I have never received any bill from national Durable Medical nor do I have a statement from my insurance company stating it was paid or denied. I have confirmed with my doctor that I have a zero balance. The person that I spoke with on the call sent me an email from National Recovery Center stating their account number is ********. Also, there was an attachment of an invoice from National Durable Medical showing an account number of ********* and an invoice number of *****. The invoice appears to have been manufactured. It states I owe them $3495.00 however on the phone they tell me they will give me a huge discount to settle this. They tell me that if I pay $525.00 they will satiisfy the **** and not report it to the credit bureau. I have perfect credit and of course I am very worried about them being able to do this. I believe this is a scam and in reading several other complaints about Mediation Recovery Center on the BBB website describing the same scenario. Why has it taken nearly seven years to contact me and no bill was ever received ?Business Response

I dont know where to start. I received a letter from Mediation Recovery Center, dated 02/05/2025, stating that I owed CashUSA $538.84. About a month ago I received a similar letter. I called the 877 number spoke to a woman who suggested I called cash to verify. I knew I didnt have a balance with said company. The lady from the recovery center said the money was deposited into an account that I had closed 10 years prior(2008). She insisted I call cash and give them the account number that was on the letter. I called cash and they were as confused as I was and said that that number was not associated with them and they had no record of me what so ever. So fast forward to today, these scammers are still at it, even after I told them to take me to ligation. Be wareBusiness Response

I have been contacted multiple times by phone by Mediation Recovery Center (MRC), ***** ******** stating they were attempting to collect a debt in the amount of $5995.00 on behalf of ************************ for a Limb Compression Device to Prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis. I was also told by ***** ******** of *** that I only needed to pay $2800 to settle this debt if I paid that day. I asked for documentation since I have never received a call or letter from National Durable Medical. I received an email dated 2/13/2025 stating this balance of $5995.00 due along with my medical records from my ********************* performed my surgery and an insurance claim that did not have my name on it, as it was a patient who lives in another state. I asked Mr. ******** why he is sending me information on another patient, and he was very unprofessional and rudely claimed everyone make mistakes. I also asked him how he obtained my medical information, and he didnt want to answer I spoke with the Ortho San Antonio, PLLC who performed this surgery Feb 2021 and was told that I have no outstanding charges. I spoke to my insurance company; ************ and they state that all claims have been paid. I was never billed by National Durable Medical, or anyone else for this device. I also contacted Scout Medical Solution who handled my prescription and was told we had no outstanding charges and they have received calls from other patients with the same claim from Mediation Recovery Center. I find it shocking that the facts of my situation practically match others on the BBB site; That National Durable Medical is currently out of business; and the device I am being charged for only costs ****** at Vitality Medical. I believe this is a scam because it has been about 4+ years since my procedure, and I have never heard of this claim or was every contacted by National Durable Medical.Business Response
