Last month, I received a notice from Mediation Recovery Center claiming that I owe $3,198.00 for a medical device related to a surgery I had 5 years ago (Aug 2018). The notice claims that the original creditor is National Durable Medical and that the Current Creditor is EMS Funding Solutions. The account # provided by MRC was ********. The original Account # is *********. The notice also states that if I were to pay immediately, they will discount my bill to $2558.40. This letter was the first time I've ever heard of this balance due. A few days later, I received a phone call from a representative of MRC, again claiming that I owe this balance and requesting that I pay immediately. I asked him why it took 5 years for this bill to make it's way to me. He could not give me a clear answer, other than to say that his company purchased the receivables from National Durable Medical. I asked him for a contact person at National Durable Medical that I could speak with. He responded that this company went out of business. He went on to threaten that if i did not pay this bill immediately, that they would report this to the credit bureaus. The unprofessional manner in which he behaved and the length of time since my original surgery leads me to believe that this is a scam. In speaking with a **** counselor, he informed me that I should be protected under the **** No Surprises Act passed in 2022. He also suggested that I file this complaint.

I was contacted by mediation recovery center in July 2023 with a letter to pay $5995 for a medical leg device from national durable medical. They claim it's from EMS funding is where they got the debt from. The staff is rude and very unprofessional when speaking on the phone. The letter sent to me claims BBB A plus rating but their website does not show this BBB rating or any mention of it. I have never been contacted by either national durable medical or ems funding yet this mediation recovery has all my info that could have been used to contact me. My surgery was in late 2018 now in August 2023 I am being asked to pay for a medical device I had no knowledge of knowing I owed money on when my surgery was fully paid for by insurance. Supervisor was not very helpful as he sent a clearly doctored pdf document with wrong address and generic info on the medical device and exactly the alleged amount owed. I see another complaint on here for the same device and the same year. I contacted the national durable medical and they do not have any record of me owing anything. I want this to go away and not owe anything as this is not real and I want them to stop claiming BBB A plus rating and intimidating people into this scam

On July 19, we received a phone call about an outstanding debt from 2018 of $899.25. We asked for documentation, and once received via email, we questioned the validity since parts of it looked digitally edited. Before paying any debt, I contacted our insurance at the time, the doctor's ******* and the surgery center where the debt stemmed from. Not one of those parties had any record of the equipment Mediation Recovery Center (MCR) was trying to collect. Additionally, this was for post-surgery equipment that my husband never received. He NEVER had the surgery and NEVER received the equipment. I then attempted to call the "original creditor" and the "current creditor" and the numbers just kept ringing - not professional voicemail, nothing. After a few calls with Mediation Recovery Center directly where we were met with extreme unprofessionalism, hostile threats, and rude remarks, we emailed them a list of questions requesting information we're *********** have from any legitimate debt collector. We never received a response. No matter if this business is legitimate or not, the experience appears to be extremely fraudulent. Either someone is billing insurance falsely since my husband never even had a surgery and never received the equipment that they are attempting to collect a debt for or this company is trying to scam people. Our interactions with this company have been absolutely horrendous, full of threats to our financial health and the constant emails, calls, and mailings have been detrimental to our mental wellbeing and caused unnecessary burden. We're filing this claim so that others can be warned of how fraudulent and horrible this business is.

I received a collection letter from MRC (Mediation Recovery Center). The bill was for a leg compression medical device from 2018 from a company named Durable Medical. The original charge for the device was $7995. According to MRC, the outstanding balance is now $3198, but if I paid $2558.40 by 8/11/2023 they would consider the account closed and the debt paid in full. I have NEVER received any statements for this charge from Durable Medical. I have seen the doctor who performed my surgery many times and was never told about this debt. When I received a collection letter from MRC, I contacted the doctor's ******* and they had no clue there was an outstanding debt. There is no way to contact Durable Medical because their office is now out of business. The *********** ************* states that after 4 years a debt cannot be pursued by lawsuit. The practice of a debt collection agency buying debts from a company that is out of business and that never sent out statements is outrageous and unethical!!

I received a collections letter from the Mediation Recovery Center in reference to an owed bill from National Durable Medical for the amount of $124.17. I have no outstanding bills and have never heard nor used this company. This bill has to be a fraudulently sent bill as I do not have any prior notices, bills, or connections with either company.

My complaint is nearly identical to several recent complaints filed under Medical Recovery Center, **** Like the aforementioned, I received a letter dated 7/17/23 from Mediation Recovery Center. The letter states I have a current balance of $5,995.00 for "National Durable Medical" and that MRC is offering me a discount of $1,199.00, thus owing $4,796.00. This "offer" lasts through 8/11/2023. I have NEVER heard of National Durable Medical, never have received service from them, and have never received communication from that entity by phone, writing or email. Ever. Like other complaints, there is no further information provided in the letter: no date of service, no ******* ******* manner of contact and lack of information is suspicious, and we suspect it is a scam.I dispute this.

I received a letter from Mediation Recovery Center dated 7/17/23 requesting payment in the amount of $970.68-mrc-12190694 on behalf of ******** Durable Medical. I have no idea who ******** Durable Medical is nor have I ever received any correspondence from ******** Durable Medical previously. The letter from Mediation Recovery Center does not even list a date of service. I also have good medical insurance, if this was a legitimate ***** ******** Durable Medical would reflect on any pass claims and they most certainly do not. Phone calls need to come to an end and I shall not receive another invalid letter.

We put this account into a dispute status.  We did not know this account was under dispute.  The date of service we can not put on the letter itself but it was on 7/17/2019 National Durable Medical deals with compression medical devices for Patients. I attached a check that the consumer paid $50.00 to national Durable Medical on 9/9/2020. I can supply more documentation if the consumer wants it. If so please have the consumer send a request to ****************************************** or call ************ and we will send that out. Prior to sending would have to get permission from the consumer first.

This company contacted me stated they are to mediate a debt between myself and EZCorp EZ Money before proceeding with garnishments. The original amount of the "debt" couldnt be provided. The *** of the supposed debt today was over ******* with interest. When I inquired about the amount they advised the loan was for less than the ******* but they were willing to settle for around ******. After continuing to say this was not something I was familiar with they offered me a settlement of ******. I requested a validation of debt letter and was sent an email that listed the amount, creditor, and account number ********. The letter prompts me for a signature to agree to authorize payment for a ***** fee. The document also states that by signing the document I forfeit my right to dispute the transaction in the future. This is not a validation of debt letter. The email address they had on file for me was one I've not had access to for over ********************************************************************** did not match the last four of my social security number. They accurately provided my date of birth, prior email address, and full mailing address without authorizing who they were speaking with which could lead to providing personal information to an unauthorized party and put me at risk of identity fraud. The debt was said to be from 2013. The **** statute of limitations for unwritten contracts is five years, and 10 years for written contracts. This is a violation of the **** statute of limitations. I also mentioned wanting to consult with an attorney after receiving the debt validation letter, at no point was my attorney information obtained or addressed. When I mentioned wanting to consult with an attorney, they told me if I wanted to take the harder route and try to dispute I could do that, but if I wanted to take the easier route I could call them by Friday to settle. This is a violation of FDCPA for providing misleading information and threatening criminal act.

You have the wrong company. The company you are talking about is most likely Mediation Services which is not us.  They are located in **, and we are in ********. We do not have a consumer's name or phone listed in our database. Their  website is www.mediationac.org. We get complaints all the time in regard to this agency. If you need help dealing with them, please give me a call at ********************. I have been giving out an Aty name and number that can help you deal with them because they are breaking the law. The Attorney is free because they are a consumer advocate attorney. We record all calls from a third-party phone service and would be more than happy to prove we did not call you.

We received a letter from Mediation Recovery Center (NRC Account No: ********* about a bill from 5 years ago from National Durable Medical (Original Account No: **********. The current creditor is listed as EMS Funding Solutions. We never received an invoice for this bill and have not received any correspondence from National Durable Medical in the past 5 years. MRC is attempting to collect on a leg compression device that shows to have been billed at the inflated price of $3246.08 with the insurance paying $2596.87. They claim we owe $649.21 and are offering a discount of $519.37.Had we seen an invoice in 2018 from National Durable Medical, and if this were a legitimate attempt to collect, we would have contacted our insurance and provider immediately. As it happens, I did call the doctor today, but they cannot access third-party billing, and the phone number for National Durable Medical seems to have been disconnected. However, it would seem that the debt was paid by the insurance to the original creditor's satisfaction, given the fact that they never attempted to collect. I dispute the charges and request that the billing be dismissed.

I received a phone call that seemed to be a scam call as they said they were trying to collect on a 2018 bill from National Durable Medical (NDM). They said if I did not pay, then it would it go against my credit report. I explained to the caller that NDM should have filed a claim back in 2018 as I have had consistent health insurance coverage since before and after this time period. If this bill was legitimate than I certainly would have paid off any and all charges. I have now received a letter stating that I owe $3700, but they are willing to offer a discount of $2998 if I pay by 8/11/23.
