I was contacted by Mediation Recovery Center on July 3, 2024 stating I owed $5995.00 for a past medical bill from National Durable Medical back in April 2020. They wanted me to set up a payment plan for a discounted amount of $2398.00. I contacted the doctor's ****** that performed the surgery and they said my account did not have any outstanding balances. I tried calling the number that is on the National Durable Medical bill and it is not a working number. I think this is a scam and they won't stop calling me and emailing me wanting my credit card information.Business Response

I received a letter from MRC stating that I have medical debt and I owe $2,985.00. There is an option to pay it off in full for $1,791.00 or at $49.00/mo. The notice does not list any service date, doctor or hospital, nor have I ever received anything from any medical facility about owing money. I have never even heard of this company. I know someone who works in a finance **** in a hospital and says people come in with these letters and that it is a scam, there is also plenty online about this not being legit.Business Response

MCR Sent a letter and called about a supposed $6k debt from 2019 (past the 4 year statute of limitations) from National durable medical with the current creditor being EMS funding solutions. I can see I'm not alone as many others are receiving the same communication years after the fact after having no prior communication with either national durable medical or EMS funding solutions. That didn't stop the employee ***** from lying over the phone saying that they did send communication. I kept every single piece of info relating to that surgery including bills/CC receipts/insurance claims, and have nothing from any of the companies listed above. High pressure (borderline extortion) tactics should be expected from debt collectors, but I need this to stop.Business Response

My complaint is the same as I see other's have posted. I received a letter with a Notice Date of 07/05/2024 from Medication Recovery Center (MCR) telling me I have a debt obligation to National Durable Medical with a current balance of $2,995.00 or a discounted one-time discounted payment of $1,797.00. There is no date of service and I have never even heard of National Durable Medical, much less receive a bill from them. We have never missed a medical payment from anywhere or had a doctor or facility bill us for a past due payment. This bill seems like a scam letter. I am disputing MRC's claim and requesting the account be closed immediately and any further correspondence in connection with this claim be stopped.Business Response

My complaint is exactly like the one I see posted prior to this one.I received a letter dated 5/3/2024 from Medication Recovery Center (MCR) requesting payment in the amount of $1398.00 and a settlement cost of $699.0 on behalf of National Durable Medical. There is no date of service and I have never even heard of National Durable Medical, much less receive a bill from them. This bill seems like a surprise medical bill, which my local state laws protect against. I am disputing MRC's claim and requesting the account be closed immediately and any further correspondence in connection with this claim be stopped.Business Response
