      Groupon allowed me to purchase services from a company that is no longer open for business. When I contacted them for a refund, conveniently they show the groupon as redeemed. How can you redeem a groupon when you can't even schedule an appointment???? The Groupon cannot show as redeemed until the merchant scans the code. How can a merchant scan the code if they are not open??? I have not been able to get the merchant to answer their phone and they do not provide the ability to leave a voicemail. The last FB post from the merchant was back in 2020 and they have multiple phone numbers associated with them, none of which is a number that they answer upon personal investigation. I contacted Groupon the day I purchased the services for $358.00 and let them know that the number associated with **************************** just rings, no one answers and they do not have a voicemail. I even went by the location Groupon has for them and the address and space is a hair salon. Groupon is now telling me that they need an email from the merchant stating that I have not used their services in order to issue a refund. I have been telling them since July 28th that it's impossible to reach them, so not only did someone at Groupon change the status from "redeem" to "redeemed" but they are telling me to get something from a company that is not in business. This is a complete SCAM and I am now out $358.00. Groupon should be ashamed.

      I've been a Groupon Merchant for the 4 years and have used their marketing services. However we have encountered some issues over the year that we believe involve fraudulent activities by Groupon. With the assistance of Groupon staff we have documented instances where they altered contracts, mishandled customer payments for vouchers and failed to make correct payments for services rendered. We have even had to involve authorities due to threats made by some Groupon customers who have criminal records. These threats included violence towards our staff arson threats towards our business well as incidents of bank fraud and identity theft. Recently I had a conversation with someone named ********************************* who claimed to be from Groupon's *************************** Initially she tried to explain legal policies that apply in ******** (a different state than ours) but after educating her on business law, criminal law and cased documented trial results, she changed her story and simply stated that Groupon is just a marketing company, before abruptly ending the call (hanging up on me).During the last three weeks I have encountered a concerning issue with Groupon Corporate. It seems that their phone number is disconnected making it difficult for me to reach them. Despite my attempts to get in touch with their ******************** and provide evidence in the form of recorded calls and chats it appears that they have engaged in activities against customers who were trying to book massage services. Unfortunately they seem unwilling to address or resolve the fraud they committed or take responsibility, for the loss it has caused my business.

      Buyer beware! The prices on Groupon are often higher or equal to the prices you can get directly in Vendor websites. Do NOT assume you are getting a bargain, They will not refund any price difference back to you.

      I purchased a Groupon for a car vac service but the vendor closed shop every time it rained so I was unable to use it. Groupon refused to refund it or let me trade it in. They wanted me to go haggle with the vendor manager to accept the expired coupon and then pay the difference -- which means pay full price for the service. Groupon is a rip-off. Beware.

      I purchased a Groupon for a carpet cleaning. After contacting **************************, the vendor through Groupon, I was informed that he would not honor my Groupon due to being out of service area. The vendor continued to to inform me that he has been trying to terminate his advertisement through Groupon for months as well, and they would not end the advertising for his company. I contacted Groupon via email to ask for a refund due to no services rendered. I was then informed via email that because it was past 8 days from purchasing the Groupon that they would not refund my money. No where did I see anything referring to no refund policy after 8 days. I have contacted them many times through email trying to get this resolved. The response I get is this is a matter that is above their position and that it will be forwarded to a manager. I have not gotten any response from a manager. This is robbery! Taking $150 of my hard earned money with no services rendered. I highly recommend staying away from Groupon and not doing any business with them. They are an unethical company that does not care about taking advantage of their customers. Additionally, they apparently have a poor reputation with the businesses they advertise for as well!

      Groupon denied my credit request. I have $242 of expired/unused groupons since 2012 - bought w/intent to share w/family but illness&loss befell us. //2012: My mom suffered 6 mos. &passed// 2013: My FIL passed suddenly //2014: My MIL battled cancer// 2015 to date - I've been battling late stage cancer &kidney issues - extended/exasperated by 2 - 3 extra yrs of high-risk covid isolation. Monthly treatments come w/side effects,limitations& challenges// 2021: hip replacement surgeries&18 month recoveryfor my husband. sugery - which involved a 3- 6 month recovery period. Now In 2023, I'm finally able to partake in certain activities, events & personal services. So, i bought &used few salon groupons & reviewed my Groupon purchase history & the 11 expired /unused groupons I bought before my family saga started. SO, I didn't ask for a refund - instead pleaded 4x w/groupon support to credit my account w/the original purchase values&enable me to buy the nearby personal svcs & experience groupons that my health status /restrictions allow. The Groupon team said 'no - unable to do this - go back to the vendors & use the $ for same or a new activity. I can't go tubing, take a flying ******* drink wine, or be in a car over 45 minutes - This eliminates 10 of the 11 groupons. No response from the 11th window washing vendor. Groupon support is anything but. I've submitted this BBB complaint. Also under review by an attorney. asked my attorney to review. I started local news station outreach to find the investigator interested in helping me share my groupon story. I'm really sad - funds are limited because of medical costs - getting a credit for unused $ to get a massage, haircut or facial would enable me to have a few nice experiences I can't itherwise afford. It's obvious Groupon Support doesn't care about client experience or client retention.

      They are scammers. I will never use this website anymore. I paid $112 for an IPL fascial, after paying I tried to get contact with the merchant, I cant get a hold from them, I opened a dispute with PayPal because i paid with PayPal, they denied it saying I used the service since I didnt. I went to the salon in person the lady told me I am not eligible for this service because I have light skin and cant work for me. She told me to use my computer and request a refund from Groupon, the person who was chatting with me was horrible, unprofessional and disrespectful. He told me I cant get my money back because I opened a case about it. The case were close with PayPal so I had to call PayPal back to reopen the case to get my money. This was frustrating and will never recommended this website to nobody.

      I purchased one ***************** TradeWind Sailing Trip for Two assuming the expiration was from one year from the purchase date. However, upon receiving an email, I was notified it was 90 days from the purchase date. Note: I have screen shot of final purchase with no indication of an expiration date anywhere. Only when I received an email was there any indication of an expiration date. I mentioned this to Groupon customer service representative and they told me I needed to read the fine print. AGAIN... the fine print did not show up until AFTER purchase and after I received a confirmation email. Why so much ambiguity? We're simply not going to be in ****** during this time and the voucher is essentially worthless. Further, Groupon **************** seemed to give me an attitude as if I didn't know what I was talking about. I have screenshot to prove. This was purchased through an advertisement. Will provide screenshot of purchase to credit card company. It is also worth noting. I cannot write a negative review on their site. Everything on their site has so called "positive" reviews. Googling other review sites speaks volumes for this company.
