    I hired a TaskRabbit ****** named ******** *. On April 26, 2025 to repair a damaged door in my home. He assured me the result would be seamless. However, the work was done poorlyhe applied a rough patch that looked unfinished and promised to return to sand and paint. He never came back, and has been completely unresponsive despite multiple follow-ups through the platform.I initially took on this service to avoid having to purchase materials myself, but now Ive paid over $160 for incomplete work and spent an additional $80 on supplies to finish the job on my own. The area looks almost exactly as it did before he arrived.I contacted TaskRabbits customer support directly and requested a full refund. Instead, they offered a credit for half the amount I paid. I made it clear that I do not feel safe or confident using their platform again after this experience, and a credit is not a reasonable solution in this case. They declined to help further.I am asking the BBB for assistance in securing a full refund for this unresolved and unprofessional service.

    On Sunday May 4th I hired a TaskRabbit laborer to install an air conditioner and its stand into a window of my apartment. We agreed to this task in the TaskRabbit app and in person. The laborer spent an hour and a half attempting to install the ** and presented the project as completed before leaving. Yesterday I checked out the ** as it wasnt working properly, to find that it is not installed correctly onto the stand, leaving it tilting out of the window and at risk of falling six floors down. Upon trying to resolve this with TaskRabbit, they only offered to provide a $40 promotional credit to hire a new laborer, however that would not come close to covering the cost. The total was ***** and I will need to hire outside help again to re do the entire project. I don't plan on using Task Rabbits service again because of my experience with the laborer and customer service, so I need a refund on my credit card in to hire new help to complete the task from start.

    I am rejecting this response because: I was not equally compensated for the full cost of a task that was done completely wrong and damaged my property. Half of the cost refunded as an in app Credit is laughable and other customers should know about this line of action before using TaskRabbits services.

    I am rejecting this response because, if the purpose of the credit was to correct the completely incorrect job, I would have received a full refund in credit instead of $40. 

    How am I to rehire a laborer to completely re do the task your company was able to provide, without the full $100+ back?

    So far my experience with TaskRabbit has been, having $100+ stolen from me, my air conditioner installed totally incorrectly, my window sill damaged and wasting hours trying to have this situation made right.

This ranking is not based on merit, but on flawed metrics that count client-initiated cancellations, stolen tasks, and technical glitches against me.TaskRabbit support admitted:Their analytics are not adjustable, even for errors outside my control.All cancellations count the same, regardless of fault.Their system cannot be fixed and there is no need to dispute analytics.After raising these concerns, I experienced a sudden drop in visibilityfrom 11 scheduled tasks to only 1suggesting retaliation for speaking up.Additionally, I reported that **** delivery drivers were intercepting my booked jobs, convincing clients to cancel and pay third-party installers.     I am filing a complaint on behalf of myself and my partner. We both had our TaskRabbit accounts deactivated without a clear explanation, and we believe this was done *********** 2023, I tried to register with my own email and paid the $25 fee multiple times (totaling $100), but the app never worked. I later used my partners email, successfully created an account, and worked on the platform for over a year. I had only 5-star reviews and never broke any rules. In March 2025, I had a physical injury and had to pause work. After recovering in April, I found my account was suddenly ************** the same time, my partners account was also banned. He had created it in 2024, completed a few tasks, and was planning to leave his full-time job to work on TaskRabbit. We believe TaskRabbit may have assumed we had multiple accounts or were violating policy, but this is not true. I always worked alone, and he had barely used his ********** be transparent, I once hired my partner through the platform to test the app, because I wasnt receiving any task invites and suspected a technical issue. We paid for the task properly. There was never any dishonest intent.Meanwhile, many elite Taskers break rules openly by sending other people on tasks under their name. Yet our honest accounts were banned without any warning or fair review.TaskRabbits support team has not responded to our requests for explanation or appeal. I worked hard to build my profile and client base, only to have it disappear. Its important to know that although our Terms of Service (********************************************) state that Taskers are independent contractors, breaches of our ToS can lead to the Taskers profile being deactivated altogether. In checking on this user's emails with the company, we've confirmed that our Support Team has been in regular communication to lay out the parts of our ToS that have been violated.

    On April 22nd 2025 I had a task manager come and fix some doors. He was unable to do it he was paid *****. They then charge me $41.00. I have tried 25 times to talk to these people and ask them what is going on into return my money they are refusing. I had to close my credit account and deal with all the other creditors that take money out of this account please help me

    I hired a task rabbit for a deep cleaning of a house in *******, ** on March 1st, 2025. The task rabbit arrived and did minimal to no cleaning. I was not home as I was with the movers at my new place. The walk through with the property management was schedule for March 2nd. My former housemate reported to me that the house did not look clean. I spoke to the task rabbit and she said she could back the next afternoon(March 2nd) or March 3rd. That was not going to work since the walk through was scheduled for March 2nd afternoon. My former housemate and I ended cleaning all areas we requested the ****** to do. I filed a complaint and task rabbit only refunded me half of my payment. They said thats all they could do. I filed a claim with my bank for the full amount which I received. Last week I went to hire a task rabbit to help me move a piece of furniture. My requests kept canceling with no explanation. I reached out to task rabbit and they told me if I want to use their service I have to pay the 100$ that was disputed. After several follows up with no resolution, Im at a loss. I paid for a service I didnt receive so I asked task rabbit to provide me a full refund and they did not. Therefore i contacted my bank and my claim was resolved. Now task rabbit has retaliated by blocking my account without notice until I pay the amount I disputed. I have a chronic condition that requires me to hire help often and task rabbit is not allowing me to obtain the services I need. My request is for my account to be unlocked without paying the 100$. Please help.

    Ive tried to get in touch with this company multiple times this week but it seems near impossible to get a human to reply. Ive sent messages and emails but no reply. My ****** was super nice. Taskrabbit is a technology platform allowing users who need help with tasks (Clients) to hire independent contractors (Taskers) who can provide services. Taskrabbit itself doesnt provide these services to Clients, nor does it employ Taskers. While Taskrabbit performs identity and criminal background checks on all independent contractors, Taskers determine for themselves whether theyre qualified to perform each task.

    I've had quite a frustrating experience with TaskRabbit on Friday, March 28. Initially, I encountered an issue with the ****** who came out, and I contacted **************** to resolve it. Then, I faced difficulties trying to reschedule another appointment online, so I called and was advised to try using the app instead. I successfully scheduled a new appointment for tomorrow, March 29.However, the ****** messaged me within an hour saying that he could not come at the scheduled time and asked if a later time would work, to which I agreed. He also inquired if I had everything needed for the job. I wasnt aware that I would need a bracket, and I realized that a piece of wood in my closet is in the way, so it would need to be removed before the bracket can be mounted. With this in mind, I canceled the ************** my surprise, I was charged for the cancellation. I didnt realize there was a time limitation for cancellations, and given that my closet setup wouldnt have allowed for the bracket anyway (something the ****** would have discovered during the job), I dont think I should be charged for a mistake that wasnt entirely my fault. Additionally, the ****** had to change the time, and I was flexible with that change, so I hope they'd understand my situation.The ****** would not have been inconvenienced in any way. He emailed me shortly after I scheduled, asking if he could come later in the day, and I was happy to accommodate the request. When I learned that additional work was required on my part before the scheduled work could be completed, I immediately canceled so that the ****** would have the opportunity to accept other appointments the following day, especially on a Friday night. He was not inconvenienced at all. I continued to reach out to customer service without success & even emailed a few Executives only to be ignored. Disgraceful!

    Date: 16 March 2025,$48.75 Task: move wooden chest with drawers moving from one location to another (10 min drive)Dispute:The ****** told me about truck fee of $60 and two hours fee of $82.02 when it would take him only 30 minutes to do the task at most. (Dresser delivery from house to house) In total I shouldve spent $142.02 for moving a small dresser which is ridiculous!I was charged 100% for the cancellation of their services that I didnt receive. He accepted the task and told me about additional fees that I wasnt informed of beforehand at 8:10 am and I cancelled the task at 8:27.
