  It is sad to see how inept and useless is the Consumer Protection Agency, just a bunch of Government paper pushers we pay salaries out of our taxes. Thanks to forums like this I will stay away from this company.

  Hello. I bought a “stage 3” chip that said in writing that I would get a 20 hp + 5 mpg gain on my Jeep. Well I watched closely at not only the mpg reading on the car’s digital readout and the old way dividing cost/miles driven. Even though it said I was getting better mpg, it somehow manipulated the system to show better mpg. Please keep reading, I’m getting to the good part……The package said to give this 100 miles to show a difference. I get it. To reprogram your ECM. My first sign that this chip was a pos when I went to get gas….no difference. Same mpg as before. Then I was driving one night and the engine sounded like it was going to blow up. Check engine lights on. Several codes. I somehow got the car home. It wouldn’t restart so I had it towed for repair. The news: ECM failure. It cost me $1600 yo fix. I sent the chip back and the tracking showed it was delivered last week I sent them several emails and they never responded. I’m not the guy that you can blow off so I called my bank and went through this whole thing. Anyway the charges were revered and credited to my bank account. Anyone that buys/uses this chip is risking expensive damage to your car on top of the fact that it did nothing but cost me money Luckily I got it back.
  This is a scam. Buyer beware !!!!!!

  I ordered the phase 3 chip for my 2023 BMW X5 to gain MPG, Received the performance chip in 4 days, installed per directions, monitored the MPG performance until 150 miles, no improvement so I did the reset and ran another standard route that I had MPG performance before the Thorton Chip. No improvement over the total of 350 miles highway miles. I called Thorton and requested a refund, they immediately sent me an email with the return label (and RMA number, mailed the chip back the same day. I tracked the return package and had POD, called to let them know their receiving department had my returned chip, they said 5-10 business days to process the refund. However, the refund showed pending 2 days later and cleared after another 3 days. In the final analysis, I wasted my time and a tank of gas verifying the chip did not work. Only happy ending was I got my money back!

  This company is a joke and should not be able to continue doing business. I hooked my truck up to our shop computer and started the chip directions. The chip lit up and blinked but made absolutely no changes to the system whatsoever. It didn’t even link up to the computer. This is nothing more then a led light. It’s unbelievable they stay in business with the thousands of complaints online and here. They are nothing but a bunch is scum bag scammers

  Address on the site goes back to a mall. Map is zoomed in real close to somewhere in Washington. Copied the phone number to Google and it comes back with a chinese site. Called the phone number at 5am on a Saturday and got a recorded message saying all associates are busy with other customers and I should leave a message. The return policy says sale items do not qualify for returns, but everything falls under "sale" items so nothing is returnable. This is a scam. Do not buy this.

  Ordered the #3 chip. No MPG increase so far, have 1k miles on it. Does seem to have a little more power. But I wasn't after the HP I was after MPG. I have even changed my MAF and put new plug wires on to help. Only 70k on the truck shouldn't need them changed yet. Will continue to monitor. If it proves to be a waste of time and money, I will let it be known.
