They claimed a money back guarantee and in the same header also claimed a huge sale this increasing the urgency to purchase without first looking further into it and the refund policy. There is absolutely zero disclaimer or asterisk indicating a special clause or potentially misleading advertisement tactic. This is blatant and immoral. Upon further investigation it seems as though this mega sale has been ongoing for several years and the product being sold is nothing more than a mass produced light up toy that plugs into a vehicle OBD2 port. Their page is filled with nothing but false claims and not a single bit of information provided is verifiable. upon even further investigation it would seem that several individuals that have spoken out against the company in public forums have received numerous flags and had been forced to remove their comments/content exposing the truth behind the company. this is part of a ******* scam shell company operating state side to sell a useless product that does absolutely nothing it claims and systematically words contractual agreements that can't be withheld by either party in an attempt to stay within a legal boundary. "Companies" like this one damage the mentality of consumers by abusing them with false claims advertisement and promises of refunds or trial periods that are negated by the companies own sales tactics and intentional abuse of free marketing. at this point I'm ready to have all foreign products removed from the United States altogether as it seems these foreign companies will stop at nothing to harm consumers. this far from legitimate business page should be flagged as potentially dangerous and marked for spam, all operations involving this company need to be disbanded and the representatives of said company need to be charged with illegal and immoral abuse of consumer trust breech of contract and intentional misuse of online sales platforms.Initial Complaint

Purchased this product on the promise of a full refund, I tested this tune after installing as required. This product does absolutely nothing for power it does however change fuel consumption, it promises to reduce fuel consumption by 5mpg, it does the opposite, fuel consumption with this product installed increased exponentially. As soon as I removed it my Car came back to normal. This company is a Scam and should be shut down. As soon as I reached out for a refund it was denied. A dispute for the full amount will be opened with my Bank. Karma will catch up to them soon.Initial Complaint

Company claims to boost mpg and horsepower (which is already impossible, as you cannot increase mpg while also increasing the power output of a car) with a plug-in tool. The plug in tool is constantly sold at a discount, always claiming to be up to 50% off. However, the product is a piece of plastic that has no real capabilities, and it is likely shipped from overseas for essentially nothing (which is why on their return portion of their website they say not to return to manufacturer, as that would return the plastic overseas). Also stated on their website is that they will not give refunds following thirty days after purchase or if a product was sold on sale (all the products they sell are on sale always, essentially meaning they never have to refund). They are impossible to get a hold of, and the individuals that run this company are scumbags who are perfectly okay taking the money of hard working, innocent people for their own personal gain. I purchased a level 3 chip stating it would give up to 5mpg and 60hp improvements once drove a certain mileage. I drove double the requested mileage and reset the box as suggested. Then I hooked up my car to a computer while the item was installed. It has zero ability to send any type of signal to the ECU as it claims. No hardware on the chip that actually sends information it only receiving information. It gave 0 mpg and 0 hp improvements. This is a total scam item. I'm out $110 because I also had to pay $10 extra to send it back to get a refund which they haven't done so as of writing this complaint. Consumers should beware.Initial Complaint

I Purchased this item, in good faith, that it would do what it stated it would do. It does not do what it states and is a SCAM. The item is fraudulent. I was given a lot of pushback from the company asking me to try different things and give it more time, but all I wanted was the refund that they state is available to anyone for any reason. When I asked for the refund, I was told that I had to ship it back to them on my own accord, which I did. Bought this chip on or about February *** installed as per the instructions drove the 150 miles and noticed nothing. I contacted the sales team and they instructed me to reset the chip. I rest the chip and drive more then the 150 miles recommended. NO change. I contacted the sales team and they suggested that I am to return the chip but my 30 days Guarantee is almost past. If I am to return this chip they will not send my money back because of that. This is disappointing and frustrating.Customer Answer

Hello, I purchased a “tuning chip” for my new pickup truck. The chip had a 30 day trial period. After speaking with Thorton multiple times, they gave me the choice of being refunded or trying a replacement chip.
I specifically asked for the replacement chip, as long as I would have a few weeks to see if it worked. When there was no change in performance, I asked for a refund, but was denied because it was over 30 days from the 1st unit being delivered.
I have copies of emails between myself and 3 Thorton employees..

I purchased a chip tuner for my vehicle. 30 day money back guarantee. My order took a week to arrive. I installed in my vehicle, drove the required 120 miles to activate the chip plus an additional 350-400 miles to check for better fuel mileage. I contacted customer service to return the product because no change had occurred. They responded that I needed to reset the chip first and try again before returning. I did just that and still no change. So I contacted them again to return and now they say I am past my 30 days and can no longer return. It has been 31 days since purchase and 24 days since I received the chip.
