    BBB began receiving complaints on this business in July, of 2021. In March of 2023, BBB began to notice a pattern of complaints develop. 


    Complaints allege defective products, broken products, and defective replacement parts. Consumers state they are unable to get refunds or billing adjustments and the business will no longer respond to consumers' questions or concerns.  


    BBB has submitted a written request to Thornton Chip Tuning, Inc., in hopes the business will address the pattern of complaints. BBB is currently awaiting a response

      Bought this chip on or about February *** installed as per the instructions drove the 150 miles and noticed nothing. I contacted the sales team and they instructed me to reset the chip. I rest the chip and drive more then the 150 miles recommended. NO change. I contacted the sales team and they suggested that I am to return the chip but my 30 days Guarantee is almost past. If I am to return this chip they will not send my money back because of that. This is disappointing and frustrating.

      I contacted the company in regards to returning that part I bought and they gave me till last Tuesday shipped at my expense for their defective part. I jave had no further contact with them.

      Hello, I purchased a “tuning chip” for my new pickup truck. The chip had a 30 day trial period. After speaking with Thorton multiple times, they gave me the choice of being refunded or trying a replacement chip. I specifically asked for the replacement chip, as long as I would have a few weeks to see if it worked. When there was no change in performance, I asked for a refund, but was denied because it was over 30 days from the 1st unit being delivered. I have copies of emails between myself and 3 Thorton employees.. Thank you.

      Paid $90.00 for a stage 3 fake chip.absolutely does not work.it was a complete scam.i paid for a sticker.they know it doesn't work.i want my money back in full.read the reviews all over the internet. You can't leave a review on their site,which is a huge red flag.these people need federal charges brought against them.i want a complete refund or I start making ******* videos about your chip.

      Apparently this company is using different names that direct you right back to the name thorntons racing chips.i have not heard anything.thanks.

      I purchased a chip tuner for my vehicle. 30 day money back guarantee. My order took a week to arrive. I installed in my vehicle, drove the required 120 miles to activate the chip plus an additional 350-400 miles to check for better fuel mileage. I contacted customer service to return the product because no change had occurred. They responded that I needed to reset the chip first and try again before returning. I did just that and still no change. So I contacted them again to return and now they say I am past my 30 days and can no longer return. It has been 31 days since purchase and 24 days since I received the chip.

      I found this company website that advertised a tuning chip that boosts a cars horsepower. I bought the stage 2 which promised a 40 horsepower gain as well as mpg gain. It doesn't work. All it does is light up. This is false advertising. I don't even care about getting my money back. I just want this company to have to stop selling these products that make false claims. It's a scam!

      I purchased the Performance Chip and the money was taken off of my **** ***. Now they are saying payment pending. **** *** shows they have been paid. There bank shows it has been paid. They refuse to give me a tracking number saying that it needs to be paid. It has all ready been paid for with extra paid to have delivery faster. I have called but they will not let me speak to a manger or the billing department.

      Bought stage e chip for my *** ****** ****** **** chip for over 200 miles with no result for fuel mileage or increase in horsepower. Took my truck to ******* ****. Ran 3 pulls to get baseline without the chip in. Then ran 3 pulls with chip. Absolutely no difference in horsepower. Also within the 200 miles driven tract fuel mileage and again there was no difference. If I had the money I would hire a lawyer and sue for false advertising. This business and the product they sell are an absolute SCAM.

      I bought the chip earlier this month, paid for priority shipping. It doesn’t do one thing that is advertised and it arrived late with no indication that it was sent priority. There’s all these positive reviews on their site, yet there is nowhere to leave your own review- it is the worst kinda scam out there, completely 100% fraudulent. It is very upsetting to be conned like this, I really want my money back!!

      Placed an order for a chip and then decided I did not want - Customer Service was able to cancel my order and said refund of money would be issued. After 2 weeks of asking where my refund is, I still get the answer of we are in the queue for a refund. I don't think I will ever see a refund for something I never even received. I would definitely not order anything from them.

      Ordered part on Monday 4-10 called before and spoke with a cr about the product. Ordered said product and confirmed a shipping label was printed but product was never shipped. They refuse to refund the money. Complete scam.
