1 starI called to have my sons Sims card transferred to another phone since he dropped and broke his phone. I spoke to the first customer service rep stayed on the phone with her for 45 minutes. She deactivated my son Sims card and then call Iost connection. I called back Spoke with customer Service rep Art stayed on hold 15 minutes, he never returned to the phone. I called back again Spoke with Angles who told me that it was above him and I would have to receive a call back in two hours. Received a call back in two hours Lost connection again. Called back Spoke to another customer she said I would have to pay for another plan. Advised I had already paid for a plan, but she had no record of it since the first customer service rep deactivated my sons account/Sims card. Terrible service!!!!Review fromKimberly S

1 starMy father had Tracfone for 10 years, suddenly his service stopped, tried 3 different phones, tracphone couldnt figure out why since he was paid up. Finally gave up and tried to transport number to another carrier, but the customer service has been the worse thing I have ever experienced. Almost a month later and issue still not resolved, they will not transfer you to manager, only suggestion is to call back in 15 min. And start all over! Filed a complaint with the **** its illegal not to transport number!Review fromJackie Y

1 starI had a *terrible* experience with Tracfone Wireless from May to Aug. 2023!!! Although they are cheap, they don't provide good customer service!!!I suddenly lost cell phone service on May 18, and could not call out or text. I called at least 5 Tracfone agents, and only *one* of them could restore my service on June 20. Then, I lost phone service AGAIN on July 27! I called 6 agents after that, and finally got it resolved on Aug. 22. Who knows if I'll lose service again, since they're so unreliable??The issue was, I kept getting kicked out of their system because they thought I was still on the Lifeline program through ********* when I wasn't, and have been paying for my own plan for at least 5 years!Then, the *** and agents didn't keep good records of when I lost service and when I was restored. Every time I'd call, they kept denying I had a valid service plan (though I paid for it myself through ****** and refused to restore me! They wouldn't let me e-mail them directly and provide them documentation, but when I would call they said they didn't have any "proof". Well, not if they don't accept e-mails!I finally had to write a hard-copy complaint letter and postal-mail it, which is very old-fashioned. At several points in arguing with me (the customer), the agents either asked me to buy a new plan, or told me they didn't have "proof" of my days lost (which is on them as a phone *** to keep records of--if they don't want to rely on my own notes). My landline phone *** keeps records of my outages--shouldn't they do the same?!?After all this haranguing, I *finally* got my service (that I paid for) restored, and my lost days credited, but why should it take so much time and effort on the consumer's part to get back what I originally paid for?!?? I was (finally) contacted by Tracfone on 10/13/23, but I'm still not optimistic they will improve their customer service (which seems to be entirely outsourced to a foreign country, judging by 100% foreign accents I get when calling Customer Service).Here's the e-mail back to the agent whom I spoke to, with concrete suggestions on fixing their problems. However, previous reps I've spoken to have NOT been open to changing procedures, so I can only guess they will continue to provide terrible customer service.Buyer beware!!!------------Hi, glad we were (finally) able to connect this morning (******* Time) on the phone, after 2 separate tries on my part. I've attached my original Tracfone complaint to your ***** headquarters on 6/27/23, my latest complaint to both the Better Business Bureau and the ** ************************** on 8/22/23, a .pdf of my original **** 1-year service plan purchase on 11/25/22, and a screenshot of my latest service update (which is working now and which I DO NOT want disturbed AT ALL).As we discussed on the phone, there is no reason why it should've taken me from May to Aug. of this year to get my original service restored (after being disconnected TWICE during this period), after calling more than 11 different customer service reps, and having to actually ARGUE with them to restore my service.Hope your company can address these customer service issues (among many others);1. Poor English skills of the reps.2. Poor knowledge of the reps of the different U.S. time zones and states.3. Poor written recording of customer account history, including poor customer service notes.4. Poor customer service attitude towards those who have been disconnected due to no fault of their own (i.e., refusal to restore service unless the customer _proves_ prior service).5. Refusal by reps to escalate problems to management.6. Unusually lengthy time period to restore service.As we discussed, if your company chooses NOT to change its poor customer service or its inefficient systems, then you risk losing an increasing number of customers to competitors (including myself as a longtime Tracfone customer since 2012).--------------Review fromGalena G

1 starActivated service the first week in June and had reliable service for three days and then it started blinking on and off and I started calling to get it fixed. Eight weeks later and many, many, many phone calls later plus hours of wasted time they had no resolution for me. Many customer service agents would hang up or sent me to a rude manager who would hang up! Managers argued with me saying that it was the phone?! I bought the phone from them(!) but they couldn't make it work. It's possible they don't have the tehnology to add service to a phone with no sim. I had to wait the 60 days for the end of "service agreement" where they provide NO service but I had to pay for it. They did unlock the phone on day ************************************************************************************************************* so I called smartpay and they had lied yet again because the agreement states that carrier is responsible for service payment. This company deserves less than one star. It's baffling that BBB shows A+ rating!Review fromSherri S

1 starMy dad had been with TracPhone for years until his recent death. My mother wanted to use his phone so we called the company to have it unlocked. The male I spoke with refused to unlock it and was very rude. When I asked to speak to his supervisor, he refused to transfer me, again being extremely rude. I also would like to add, his English was horrible! TracPhone has lost my family as customers! I will also be spreading the word to others who use this company and encourage them to look elsewhere for phone service. Shame on you for the poor customer service.Review fromTosha H

1 starHave been waiting for over 3 months for a replacement phone. Have been told we will receive a replacement 3 to 5 business days. No phone, called back only to be told the same thing over and over again. The shipment has been delayed because they do not have any replacements to send that match the phone. We have given them permission over and over again to send ANY working phone. They then say they will update this and for me to call back in 3 to 5 business days. I was told on 8/1 that I should receive the replacement by *** on Thursday 8/3. We did not. I gave until today and called back with the confirmation number given to me. The "corporate manager" that answered my call said there was no progress on sending the phone being shipped. They do not have a phone to ship. Again I told her that they can send us any available. She said she will update the ticket and AGAIN to call back in 3 to 5 business days. It is hard to believe that they do not have not one phone they can send. We are long term customers and have NEVER had this issue. If there is no resolution to this we will file a complaint with the ************************ and look for another phone service. We started this whole process in May. This is beyond ridiculous! Only giving a one star because I cannot leave it blank!Review fromThomas M

1 starMy TracFone somehow ran out of data, called helpline 4 or 5 times and got different answers every time. Took phone apart twice to get sim card numbers and nothing solved issue. Even purchased more data days ago and phone still won't connect to internet. Every rep or online instructions went in circles. They were told that it's not our home internet connection as we have other phones and TV functioning just fine. Very frustrated due to the fact that different answers were giving and phone instructions kept repeating things that didn't work previously. 1 starhi there, I am wondering if there is anything I can do about Straight ****************** who quoted me a price on a phone plan for my cell phone, I agreed, gave my credit card info and then they charged me a higher amount, without my permission. this happened this afternoon (4:55pm Mon Aug 7th, 2023) over the phone through a straight talk representative. I waited 45 minutes to speak with a manager and was hung up on and no call back. now I have been on a chat with another straight talk representative through ******** messenger for an hour and 15 minutes and they are now ignoring me. quite possibly the worst customer service from any business I've ever had to deal with and also I believe it is absolutely illegal to quote a price, and then charge someone's credit card a higher amount WITHOUT permission! 1 starI cancelled my phone on July 21. I was charged to my bank acct. on July 30, for Aug. I no longer have that phone as I didn't get any service since July 3. I CANCELLED JULY 21 and am still getting charged $36.74/month. I will not rate this company for stealing from me.
