I use ******.com to maintain the registration of my websites whereisrobin.org and *************.com.
Recently they added additional charges for privacy and protection to the account (2 charges of $14.99) that I am not aware of agreeing to them. There position is that I was sent but none of the emails discuss these additional charges. Many of them require log in. Given that I was not aware of additional services, I did not concern myself as there had been no issues in over 10 years to which I have been a customer....I have tried to speak to them about a refund but their position is that I did not contact them within 15 days. My father was in the hospital since late Feb and was release on May 14th. I discovered these charges in catching up with bills, etc.
I have been a customer for over 10 years and asked for an exception due to my father being in the hospital for several months and just getting out last week.Initial Complaint

I contacted Hostgator on April 3 to migrate an email service (Outlook) to Google Mail using professional email (******@***********************.com). The sales representative ran into an issue migrating to Google and suggested it would be easier to go with Hostgator's email service - Titan. The sales rep assured me it provide for all I was looking to achieve through Google, and because of a time constraint I agreed.
However, I have contacted Hostgator concerning several cases and indicated below:
Case E-****** on April 24, 2025
OEML-******* on April 16, 2025
Case E-****** on May 7, 2025
Case E-****** on May 13, 2025
A few of these cases have been resolved, and others still have not. I have requested to migrate over to Google Mail at their cost (around $99 for migration services) and that I would pay the difference in services provided by Titan to Google. They refused to pay the migration fee.
I contacted them once more this morning May 20, 2025 to follow on case E-****** which is still unresolved, particularly the time-consuming formatting of their emails for each new email created.
I am submitting this complaint to BBB to as one last request to finally solve these issues before escalting it to an attorney and file a legal complaint. If the issues are not resolved by the time a BBB agent responds to this inquiry, or 3 days from this receipt (which ever is longer) a legal complaint will be filed.Customer Answer

I opened up another case E-****** on May 21, 2025 for issues that are still left unresolved with no response after replying twice to the case. Attached is the email thread for E-****** - the most recent response I've received from the escalated cases I've opened. You'll list their list of all the tasks they continue to ask of me to attempt to resolve the issue. I have already sent them screen recordings from a previous case, and a more recent screen recording which they say is insufficient. The screen recordings they're looking for were from the previous case... in light of that, they still never responded and are asking me to re-record those again. On top of that, they require for me to use a platform that I do not wish to subscribe to just so I can send them recordings. I sent them screen recordings from a recording device on my laptop and shared it through a Google link, which is public for anyone with the link to see it. But they refuse to open it.
At this point, they're requests to keep circling back and repeating steps I have already taken for issues that I Ihave repeatedly reported and not resolved is frustrating and unproductive, as well as inacceptable. It gives me the impression that my concerns are not given adequate attention or, what I believe is poor quality product/service. Titan Professional email is not sufficient to function as I need it... as Microsoft Outlook and Google email have previously.
My demand is that they migrate my email out of Titan and into Google email, asap. My office workday is continually fragmented because of these issues,

I never requested auto pay from fat cow and their prices have increased exponentially since I started their service. I already rejected 1 auto pay claim and resigned myself to living without their service when for some reason despite being continually warned by them that I was not on auto pay they automatically removed $300 which is half of the money I have access to. I did not request this and I am not happy. I would like my money back. I emailed them and their 24 hour phone line is down for some inconvenient reason.Initial Complaint

HostGator automatically started debiting nearly double the amount of money I had agreed to pay them when signing up for services and claimed they did so to "Avoid service interruptions" due to using more then the allotted disk space on the account. Their was no formal notice before doing so. After speaking with an agent they informed me that they started doing this in April of 2024. I'm seeking a refund of the difference in price from that period of time to now for failure to notify affected parties.Initial Complaint

My website (**************) is down since more than 1 week now and despite of the several contacts I had with this and their promises to fix things… nothing progressed (please read the chat trail attached)
I'm filing a complaint to the BBB office in Florida to report their ineffectiveness at fixing the current bug (a service for which I duly pay).Customer Answer

On March 26, 2025, Bluehost charged my credit card for 11,106.21 TL (~$278 USD) without my explicit consent under "automatic renewal."
The email sent to me did not clearly inform about the new service start date (April 10, 2025) or the cancellation rights before that date.
I discovered this only after a long and detailed chat with their support team, after my refund request was initially rejected.
This important information was never disclosed in the billing email or any other prior communication.
Additionally, the renewed services (WordPress Hosting, SiteLock Essentials, CodeGuard) were not used at all — my website had been inactive for about a year and remained inactive even after the renewal.
The hosting space remained empty, no new content was uploaded, and no server resources were utilized.
Moreover, although Bluehost emailed me on February 24, 2025, stating that the payment method on file was invalid and asking me to update it manually, and although I did not see this email and did not update my payment information, they still managed to process the charge using my previously stored credit card data without my permission.
This raises serious concerns regarding unauthorized billing practices, data privacy, and customer rights violations.
I respectfully request a full refund of the amount charged and the cancellation of all renewed services.
I also urge Bluehost to review their automatic renewal and billing authorization processes to prevent similar issues for other consumers.Initial Complaint

On November 22, 2018, I purchased a HostGator Baby Plan for $304.47, based on HostGators advertised promise of unlimited subdomains, which was clearly stated on their official website at the time. I subsequently renewed this plan on November 24, 2021 for $358.20, and again on November 25, 2024 for $593.61 for a three-year period.Recently, in early 2025, I discovered that I could no longer create new subdomains despite having fewer than the previously indicated limits. Initially, HostGator support informed me that I could only have 120 subdomains. After deleting subdomains to stay under that limit, I was still unable to create new ones. Later, they reduced the limit to 100 subdomains, and then, in April 2025, they informed me that my account was limited to 20 "websites," which they equated to subdomains. When I pointed out that subdomains and websites are distinct, HostGator support acknowledged the inconsistency but claimed the website needed to be updated. As of today, the HostGator Knowledge Base (**************************************************************************) still advertises "unlimited subdomains" for the Baby Plan.Despite raising this issue multiple times with support, HostGator has not honored the original advertised terms.Initial Complaint

On Monday April 21 at around 8am I received an email from domain.com saying that I am being charged $87 for a domain renewal. I never set up auto renewal for the domain and never intended or authorized this transaction. I proceeded to contact their customer service who told me their hands are tied. I come back to the chat 20 minutes after I left to find that they were willing to refund me partially. Instead of almost $90 they were going to only charge me $24 for a domain I never consented to renewing. This is double what I originally paid for the domain a year ago. Which I also tried and failed to get a refund on because I found out I had no use for it. Both instances I asked the company for a refund before the payment had finished finalizing. Both times they have told me theres nothing they can do. I believe that Domain.com is partaking in very predatory sales tactics and is looking to take advantage of those trying to get domain and start marketing themselves or their business.Initial Complaint

The webhost, Host Gator, which appears to be part of the larger entity Newfold Digital that owns many brands, has done nothing to remove a fraudulent website that it is hosting pretending to be me ****************************. I notified them in September 2024 via the report abuse form on Host Gator webiste and they said they were forwarding it to their Mexican entity, Host Gator Mexico. But in April 2025 it still hasn’t been removed. Host Gator does not appear willing to actually remove this fraudulent website (which the California bar says has already led to somebody being scammed out of more than $10,000).
Thank you,
