I wish it was a 0 star ro choose because the Catonsville, MD location and manager are the absolute worse. This experience I am never dealing with again. I received rude, dishonest and dismissive service and I sis not choose this business, Koons Ford of Baltimore did because they have a contract with them and Ford damaged my car after taking it in months ago for a simple maintenance check when they allowed a young tech to take it out for a joyride. I demanded a rental while they did 4.5 weeks weeks of repairs and they sent me to Hertz and were supposed to pay the full bill. I returned the car, then was charged weeks later by Hertz $1185.36 saying they never recv'd the extension for the last week from Ford. Ford says the opposite. Told by Hertz manager she spoke to their billing dept about the refund and waiting on response. That was over a month ago. I spoke to Hertz billing and they state they never heard from the manager. This has been a complete nightmare and I would never recommend either business to anyone. Period! Ever! Waiting on a supervisor from Hertz to call me back, looks like I need some legal help at this point.

Don’t rent a car at Hertz at the Airport in Montreal. We even had a reservation and we waited for over two hours to get a car. About 50 people came through after us and were all given cars. Never renting here again

Computers were down. Waited over an hour with a reservation. Then 15 min line to get OUT of parking lot. Will never use their service again.

Hertz is one of the most horrible places to do business with. I rented from them and they overcharged me twice for the same amount. This has caused stress and a domino effect financially.I would not recommend this company to anyone

Title: Hertz: Cold, Bureaucratic, and Uncaring – Especially With Veterans My recent experience with Hertz’s damage claim process has been extremely negative. When my rental car was hit while parked, I was told by Frankie S******* and Gary H***** ) that I had to pay over $2,500—even after my card insurance paid $700. Instead of helping, Hertz staff repeatedly pushed me toward monthly payment plans or one-time settlements ($2,100) but refused to pursue the actual responsible party or provide fair support. Even after escalating to President Gil W*** (all I got were form letters and demands for payment. As a disabled veteran and loyal renter, I found Hertz’s approach dismissive and unhelpful. I’ve moved my business elsewhere, and would strongly caution others to reconsider renting from Hertz. Their customer service feels more like debt collection than actual support

I was forced into buying the additional service by the sales associate . These are optional services that have never been required. The sales associate took advantage of the situation and refused to rent me a car without these services .

I made a reservation, and received a confirmation email breaking down, line by line, each charge of the reservation, including the additional insurance, and showing the cost for each item. Total to be $568.45, stated on the reservation confirmation, in writing on my receipt received via email. Returned the car on time, with a full tank of gas and no damages, and received a bill for $741.11. Immediately called customer service, as the onsite lot personnel were of no assistance, and was told I had to wait 48 hours to call back because they needed time for the transaction to process. Called back as directed, Spent 45 minutes on the phone reviewing my original confirmation receipt versus the final bill receipt, line by line, each of which held a higher charge than what was on the reservation confirmation, from the daily rate, to the insurance rate, to the airport concession fee, and so on. Agent said he didn't see my original receipt, the system only showed the final billing receipt. I offered three times to provide the original receipt and he refused it. After 45 minutes, and being put on hold multiple times, he said I would get a refund for $172.66. I am holding my breath to see if this happens. I was a Gold Plus member for Hertz, but believe I will no longer be using their rental service as this is the third time I have had charges added on after the reservation has been made and have tried to have them corrected. If I buy a lemon at the grocery store and the tag says $1, when I get to the register, I do not expect to be charged $1.50 and have to justify why it should only be $1. Shame on Hertz for their business practice of doing this to clients.

Don’t rent from Hertz. They get a rental from Expedia, when you go to get the car, there is no reservation, however, they have all the information for you to rent. Why do they charge you again. They put a hold of $200, then charge you for the rental again. Rent for 2 days $500. Not fair! Someone n Ed’s to shut them down!

Cannot talk to a live person at the local location. All is overseas contact center and a malfunctioning AI Chat bot that doesn’t recognize your inputs even with the correct information. Added charges I did not agree to. Charged me 77.00 for gas even though I returned with 3/4 tank same as I received the car. Took close 2.5 hours to rent a car. First and last time using this company. I wish I would have read these reviews before I rented a car from this disaster.

I set up a rental for a Dodge 2500 truck 2 weeks in advance. I needed to move 2 beds and multiple coolers. When I arrived to get the truck, they said no trucks are available. They wanted to give me a compact car for same price???I waited an hour and all they could give me was a tiny jeep compass. I did not have any other means of travel so i had to take it. I had to also go rent a uhaul pickup truck to move beds. So I had to go return truck. Because of that, i had to extend my rental of the jeep by one day. I was charged an additional $120.This was a nightmare. I have zero trust in renting from hertz again. And I rent vehicles quite often. Edit: After i left bad review, they sent me an email saying I damaged the vehicle lol! There was absolutely no damage from me! It had a ding in the windshield is what they are saying I did. They do not walk over vehicle with you before leaving like other rental companies do. They replied to my email and said contact them. I tried, nope they didnt help. Just made it worse by falsely accusing me of damage. Apparently they falsely accuse people of damage to vehicles, like they did me. Save yourself from a nightmare and use someone else.
