      Worst car rental company ever. Nobody answers at any location. Goes directly to 800 number asking to press 1 then press another number then another. Trying to change drop off after 2 hrs of dialing number got nothing. Hit all the appropriate numbers to change drop off but when finally got someone they tell me "oh this is to extend rental need to call ****# really thats the number I called. Then she just hung up. Absolutely ridiculous then the music that plays on hold. You serious about that loud annoying music. NEVER AGAIN WILL I RENT FROM HERTZ.

      I have a gold membership and Hertz confirmed my reservation for a full size sedan from Fort Lauderdale for 5 days. When I arrived at Fort Lauderdale there was a long line of angry Gold club members and no cars. Cars were brought up slowly one by one. The only car available for me was a sub-compact. I took it but returned it early because I did not feel safe driving such a small car in bad weather. Hertz has refused to give me a refund for early return or small car. They promised to call me but never did.

      I made a reservation and received a confirmation email that the rental vehicle was ready for pick up at 11:30am at Hertz on 14219 Western Avenue South Suite A, GARDENA, CA, 90249. I arrived at the location, and right away knew the service was going to be TERRIBLE, one of the receptionist was yelling at a customer over the phone and making snarky remarks. Once the call ended she and another employee joked about holding a vehicle for the customer only if she agreed to pick it up before a certain time. Still, I patiently waited since my car is in the shop and I needed the rental to get my children to and from school. Eventually a different woman asked if I had a reservation and asked for my information, after I gave it to her she simply said they were out of cars. I reminded her that I had a reservation and received an email confirmation that the vehicle would be ready for pick up at 11:30am, to which she responded “I don’t know why people are still able to make reservations. We are out of cars”. She didn’t offer an apology, nor a solution to the issue. I wasted my time and money to get to the location for absolutely nothing. Horrible service, attitude, and reservation system.

      A ZERO rating is warranted. I rented a small ***** SUV in ******* for a visit to the ************ on May 8 2022. I returned the vehicle on May 15. Upon check-in the Hertz staff person verified that the vehicle was returned in the condition in which it was rented. MORE THAN FIVE MONTHS LATER, WITH NO NOTIFICATION FROM HERTZ, an additional charge of $440.59 appeared on my credit card. I called Hertz and was informed that the car had sustained glass damage, even though there was no glass damage when I checked in the vehicle. I received no email notification from Hertz about such damage or additional charge--though, unsurprisingly, after my phone call I received an email letter (dated Oct. 6) indicating "we identified glass damange on the vehicle." I demanded to see evidence of such damage, and a record of rentals in the 5 months after I returned the vehicle, since the vehicle did NOT sustain glass damage during my rental period. Hertz sent me no such evidence. I took photos upon check in, which I kept until the first of October, then removed from my phone, since no damage claim had been made against me. Yes, I signed the damage waiver, but since I had evidence of no damage I was certain this would not trigger a charge. I was wrong. This was clearly a case of Hertz deciding to ***** a customer for additional $; I will never rent from Hertz again, or its subsidiaries: Dollar Rent A Car Firefly Car Rental Thrifty Car Rental.

      These people are a bunch of criminals. I rented a vehicle through price line and when I picked up the vehicle I had to pay an additional amount for security deposit, which I thought was in the price that I paid online. I extended their service for a few more days and requested a change in drop off location, they charged me an arm and a leg just to change the location and after returning the vehicle I had to call them regarding the refunding of my security deposit. They claimed that they sent it back to my account and gave me a reference number, when I called my bank regarding the transaction I was told no such transaction is showing up in their system, so I ended up having to dispute it. Now they keep sending me a bill for the same amount they took from my account for the security deposit. I sent them a copy of my bank statement to prove to them that they already took the monies that they charged for their service from my account up to date they have sent my name out to a debt collection agency. when they called and I explained to them what happened the lady told me that they had it on file that the transaction didn't go through but yet it's showing in my account that the monies did come out.
