      Booked a reservation, actually two by mistake one being wrong and the other correct. I arrived to pick up my reservation to actually just get denied service with the excuse(s) THAT they had no more cars. Then all of a sudden it became they can't take debit cards. What business does not take. Debit card eith a card machine right infront them to process CHIP payments.

      Terrible customer service. Bait and switch and deceptive practices. Rental practices need to be reviewed by the Attorney General !

      I am a first time customer and I am very UNSATISFIED.Service - horrendous! Agent charged me twice service fee and didn't accept my insurance, but push me to buy additional.After my trip I tried to connect with company, but their response was that no mistake was made and no additional help was provided. Also ignore my e-mail and calls.Company doesn't respect customers!

      My experience at hertz was one of the best. ***** from the East Sunrise location was very professional and helpful throughout my rental process. He gave me the best advice that will fit my needs/budget at the time.

      My insurance rented my car through hertz while my car was being fixed from being rear ended. When I picked up the car it had less than half a tank of gas in it and I was told to just return it the same way. My rental was paid through 11/24/22. I picked up my car on 11/25/22 and left the rental at the shop that repaired my car because they said hertz would come and pick it up. Well since they decided to be closed that Friday Saturday and Sunday they didn't get my rental returned into the system till 11/28/22 then proceeded to charge me $125.00 dollars because it was returned late not my fault by the way. When I called I talked to Steven and he put me on hold to see what was going on, when he got back on he said it was a mistake because they were closed for the long holiday and I would get my money back but it will take 4 to 6 weeks and he acted like it was no big deal no apology no nothing. That is ridiculous and I should get my money back immediately not in 4 to 6 weeks. Bad way to conduct business.

      I rented a Nissan Rogue from my local Hertz due to an accident. It was set up to be paid weekly as my insurance would only reimburse me. At the beginning, the local mgr contacted me at my cell number as well as the guy that picked me up to take me back to the office to sign the contract and pick the car up; both contacted me at my cell number (important to remember). In the middle of my contract I received a text from my bank asking if I made a transaction in the amount of $125.31, I didn't recognize it and it ended up being a fraud transaction. I replied no and they automatically cancelled my card. Unfortunately, I work FT and go to school FT and it didn't trigger me to call Hertz to transfer my new card. Rightfully so, Hertz picked up my car while I was at work. At first, I thought it was stolen until 15 minutes later it hit me that I didn't transfer my new debit card. I had expensive belongings in this car. Every number you google on Hertz to talk to a live customer service rep takes you in circles. After much research I found the car was taken to the local airport. The website even says you can visit the lost and found M-F between 8-5. The address listed takes you to the arrival gate of the airport. I have to go to rental return under the garage to speak with someone. Once they find out it was repossessed, they treat me in a way as if I was trash. I had one girl tell me that Hertz has the right to keep my belongings until the contract was paid for. I was also told I could not visit the lost and found as I don't have access to it. I have had to drive to the airport 4 different times, even though I have left my phone number with no call for an update. To this day, I have not been given an answer as to where my personal belongings are. After it was picked up for non payment, I asked the rep why nobody tried to call, she spouted off a number I had never heard of. I challenge the corp to contact me res#*********

      Beware! Even though this company has the Hertz franchise for Mexico, along with a mix bag of other rental agency names (Firefly, Thrifty and others), their customer service and business practices are as third world as it can get. We had made a reservation with them before arriving to Cancun and secured a price but when we arrived they gave us a new price which was more than 30%, claiming the price was no longer valid. If we booked this via a site such as Expedia, this would never happen.In addition, we waited for over an hour in line even though there were very few customers and multiple agents but they are EXTREMELY slow and require you to sign endless documents.On top of that, we never got the car we were told would be available to us as they continued trying hard to upsell us with upgrades.Finally, we have yet to receive our deposit back even though they cleared us from any damage once looking over the car upon its return.There is no way to contact Avasa from their website and the emails that they send you don't allow you to reply back as they bounce back.My recommendation would be to use a reputable company as Expedia with true customer service.

      Rented a *** and it was stolen 7 hours later. Reported it to the police and Hertz. Filled out all the paperwork involved with this issue. Had full insurance coverage so the stolen car was covered. Hertz even though they knew the car was stolen, continued to charge me daily for the rental. One Hertz representative demanded I return the car - I said it was stolen how can I do that. Then she went on to accuse me of lying about the car being stolen WTF!Finally the car was recovered by the police and they stopped charging me. Now I am trying to get a refund for the weeks they charged when the car was stolen. They keep saying the refund is in the works - it has been 2 months now since this incident and NOTHING has happened. Worse company ever!!!!

      Joining the choir here to say never renting from Hertz again. Customer service is truly awful. Got charged an extra $600 because of a mistake they made in the billing and it took multiple calls to the customer service line to get credited the correct amount and dealing with very rude staff. Got additional charges from Hertz after the fact that they said wasn't recorded on their end, ended up reporting it as fraud on my credit card.
