      I wanted to make a one way rental from DTW to LaGuardia. I explained this implicitly when making my reservation. The woman behind the counter assures me everything is correct and that I will receive my deposit (700$) back when I safely drop the car off. Today after dropping my car off, at LaGuardia as stated I received an 800$ charge for not dropping the car off at DTW. This company is absolutely criminal and purposely misleads customers to lure them into predatory fees. My reservation was supposed to be 200$, it was 1100$ at the end.

      Adam, the manager Perla and Crystall were not helpful while trying to get a car. They will waste your time while trying to book a ride for you from your location to the actual facility. Then they say they can't do anything about not communicating with the member about having to switch location because they don't have a car at the location you should pick up from. They emailed me that I had to pick up in sunny mead but then try sending me to the wrong location. Perla was the only one that clearly spoke to me and told me what was going on but then said that they can't schedule a ride to get the car. Crystall was the one that didn't explain anything to me and didn't tell me that I would have to go to a different location to pick up the car. Wasting my time and efforts.

      UNFRIENDLY TO VETERANS and they BROKE THE LAW!!!! They charged a "cleaning fee" for my veteran's SERVICE animal. That is ILLEGAL! They can not charge for a service animal in the vehicle. There was no damage and the "inspector" insisted that they can charge a "cleaning fee" - WRONG!! We needed to check into our flight, so hertz BANKS on that. Using them HERTZ your wallet!!!!!!!! The law says "businesses cannot charge a fee for a service animal in Florida, but they can charge the handler for any damage the animal causes. Businesses are prohibited from charging extra fees, deposits, or surcharges for service animals, even if they charge a fee for pets. However, if a business has a policy of charging nondisabled customers for damages caused by their pets, they can charge the person with a disability for damages caused by their service animal. No extra fees: It is illegal for a business to charge an extra fee or surcharge for a service animal's presence. Liability for damages: The owner or handler is financially liable for any damage caused by their service animal. Equal treatment: If a business charges for damages caused by pets, they can apply the same rule to service animals.

      Hertz charged me for 6 days when I rented for just 3.m AND $109 for fuel when I returned the tank full. This is not the first time they have overcharged. Note that I am a Presidential Circle Member and they still treat me this way. Time to move to another service, I dont know if this is intentional or just sloppy. BUT, A word to the wise: DONT just drop the car off and leave when returning. ALWAYS get a statement in writing before leaving so you can check that what they want to bill you is what you agreed to pay. Then, if you get a revised statement of charges a couple of days later, you will know that something is wrong and you will need to check your bill very carefully.

      Car wasn't in the assigned spot. Nobody from Hertz was in the garage. Someone from another car rental assisted me finding the car which was clear at the opposite end of the garage. When I returned the car, the desk wasn't open yet, so I put the keys in the express drop off box. 2 days later, I received the email statement and was charged an extra day because they said the car was returned late, when it wasn't. Then waited over an hour on hold to reach someone that could help. My advice, don't rent from Hertz.

      I was rented a car for a week with fan continually running and fluids leaks, which kills battery and run hots. Hertz said after two calls for battery charging, I will be chargered for battery charging fees separate . They said not to turn off the car. ?????????????????

      Holy cow. What a horrific experience. DO NOT trust any of the prior reviews. Totally made up. These guys are so shady. I've been trying to buy a car for literally three day. They refuse to give you a price until you physically come in. Once they get you there and get you emotionally attached to the vehicle, they then tell you that the price has gone up due to the "auction" pricing.This happened to me on two different occasions and on two different vehicles which is how I know it's their standard practice.On the second vehicle as my daughter was literally on the bus ride over to buy the vehicle (still with no confirmed price even though she had physically been there once before) and with an appointment they decided to text us and tell us the car had been sold out from under us. Even though they we had been talking to them for 3 days about the car trying to get pricing (which they refused to provide) and we had an appointment, and they said they would be holding the car for us. Are you freakn kidding me!! No call ahead of time that that there was a different buyer. Nothing... Literally the shadiest car dealer i've ever dealt with. RUN from these guys. The finance manager is completely shady! He is the epitome of what gives used car salesmen a bad name.

      Wish I did not have to give 1 Star because they are not even worth One! Was charged a Fuel Charge when I returned the car back with MORE gas in it that it has when I rented it. They charged me $30 for 1/4 of a Tank when I have Picture Proof how much gas the vehicle had in it. Then they charged my insurance company extra as well! They charged them tax then invoice me for Tax! This is after attempting to reach them for 2 days to question the extra charges on my credit card that I did NOT authorized! They brushed me off and hung up on me!

      Hertz. Wow one of the best Car rental agency is now the worst. Cashing in on rwards is very restrictive and the $ balance after using points is sometimes more than than the " Pay Now" option. Customer service sucks!!! They do everything to prevent you from talking to a live agent. When I finally got through, I let them know my concerns not booking with points and other matters, they just appoligized. Deceptive, with there fee's Watch out. I am a Gold Plus member with President Circle privaliges. NOT ANYMORE! They are probably days away from filing, so if you have points TRY to use them ASAP
