      Worst Experience. Very poor unorganized, illiterate, mismanaged people at the front desk. Rip you off by saying your reserved car isn't available and will charge higher to the substitute car. Cant even communicate clearly and don't care attitude. On the top of it, if you call Hertz Customer Service (I talked to Stephanie at 1-800 number) , they mention that they cannot do anything and that is what it is! and suggests complaint at BBB or write a bad review! Beware of HERTZ

      Unfortunately we've stepped into a new world where cars have become so expensive to rent, that the companies seem to care less about customer service. Hertz was case in point. Unfriendly Manager, dirty car inside and out (the manager even acknowledged it but didn't have someone come clean it like in the good old days.). And a tire was very low. I returned it and complained to Hertz International and the sum total of their response was "thank you for allowing us to hear your complaint." So bad it was like an SNL skit without the comedy.

      I was placed on a Do-Not-Rent list due to a dispute over a Hertz employee adding daily insurance to my rental (without my consent) a year ago. The dispute was also satisfied over a year ago. Hertz did not tell me I was put Do-Not-Rent list and did not remove me after satisfying the dispute (a dispute where Hertz was in the wrong). How did I find out I was on this list? I found out at 1:00am at the San Diego airport after flying all day with my two children. I was told Hertz would not rent me a vehicle and that I would have to call corporate, which did not open until 8:00 am. I made the reservation three months beforehand with accurate information about my driver's license and payment. I also "checked in" via the Hertz app 24 hours before my rental. Hertz chose not to notify me that they would not rent to me until 1:00 am in the morning at the airport while I had two very tired children. Due to Hertz's structure and policy, the company stranded me and my two children at the airport at 1:00am. I reached out to customer service and only received a "we'll pass the info along" reply. The response is unacceptable.

      I prepaid for a rental car at the Cancun airport and when I showed up they said they gave away my car because was was more than 1 hour past my reservation time. The only car they had was going to cost an extra $1500USD for the week. That rate is 5X what I paid for the original rental. This is criminal. I prepaid and they would not refund the money. Most car rental companies will just give me the car they have if they give away my car...not charge 5X what I paid for it! This was on new years eve, so I'm sure they are busy, but they need to honor what I paid for it! I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to figure it out with no results. When I called Hertz, they said they couldn't find the reservation! The cancun hertz had it...I had 2 different confirmation numbers and my name/date etc that they couldn't find! Terrible experience. Never again with Hertz.

      I rented a Chevrolet Tahoe to drive from Puyallup, WA to Missoula,MTfor my son and his friends band event at the University of Montana. I bought the extra insurance in case we broke down. The car broke down in Missoula. went to the called roadside and was hoping to get replacement vehicle. They couldn't provide me with one and had to rent one from Dollar. there was a $1500. charge to drive it to Seattle because they didn't have a one way rental. tried to get reimbursed from hertz but they referred it back to Dollar. I didn't know they are both owned by the same company. After two months of calling they told me that they would not compensate for the additional charge for their failure to provide me with a replacement vehicle. otherwise i would have been stuck in Montana and would have had to pay 5k for plane tickets to get back home. I could have bought a car to drive me back for what it cost me to rent a vehicle. Never renting from them again.

      They charge you differently on the online. So if your cost was $833 at cheek out they will charge your bank $875. Reason was they said was they changed the rate when I hit the pay button. Then they charge my credit card over $1000 and demand me to pay more after that with a letter then an additional letter with another amount which is much higher than the bill before.

      This review is for Hertz of Alpharetta  - Georgia and entire company Reserved a car, the money - of course - wast taken out of my credit card immediately Went to pick up, they did not have the car. They did not have a decency to call me to inform me there would be no cars available - I had to drive to the office to find that out. Upon arrival, there were no cars available at the location. He (the rep.) did say that "there seems to be one available at Roswell, but it would be more expensive", I said I could get that one he informed me that I needed to call them directly even though I was in front of him inside a HERTZ store - Talk about HORRIBLE customer service. I gave up just bases on their unwillingness to make up for the idiocy they had done (not hold the car). When I requested for the refund, he (the rep) informed me that I needed to call the 800 number to request that - even though I was inside the store right in front of him.I called the 800 number and requested for refund. The rep said it would take 7-10 business day (interestingly that they got my money immediately on the call, but to get money back it takes 10 days????)Today is Jan 15, 15 days after my request and no refund. Called them and they asked me to call "during business hours".Here is their address.       I had the worst experience. I prepaid a reservation for 1/14, and car was not available. I don’t recommend this car rental. I went to Atlanta to see my sick mom and I lost have a day because did not honor my prepaid reservation. They requested extra $500 deposit and other requirements not explained at reservation time. HORRIBLE . Still disputing refund.

      The Hertz located in *********, ** is unprofessional. I reserved a vehicle online on January 13th for a pick-up on January 14th at 9 a.m. It wasn't until I arrived there at 9 ***, that I was informed that they had no vehicles available. The clerk was apologetic and informed me that she was just about to call me before I arrived. Luckily, ********** ****** was in the same proximity and I was able to rent a vehicle with ease. I will be sure to never use Hertz again. Thanks but no thanks.

      I made a reservation and paid up front for it. On day of pickup I get to the rental location and are told their are no cars available. I called corporate and told me their are no cars available anywhere in the area. I request to cancel my clearly useless reservation and was told it would take 7 to 10 business days to return my money. This was a horrible experience and will never ever use this rental company again.
