      Rented from Hertz in Oklahoma City after my car broke down on a cross-country trip. I booked via AAA in the AAA office and they applied their 10% membership discount. When at the Hertz pick-up location the clerk said there was no AAA discount and that she was unable to add it. I asked if I were to be late returning in Chicago the next day would I be charged a late fee or the whole day. She said I would be charged the whole second day. Because she told me this, I went to the hotel and caught up on some much needed sleep instead of heading straight into the business of O’Hare Airport. I returned the car the next morning. I was ultimately charged nearly $800 for two days. I spoke with someone at the Customer Service number and was told that both things the clerk had said were wrong. #1) Yes, she was able to add the discount but either refused to do it or was not trained enough to know that she could, and #2) I would NOT have been charged for the whole day had I returned the car an hour or so late, I would only have been charged a $12 late fee after the first 30-minute grace. So, either the clerk at Oklahoma City (Will Rogers Airport) lied or she did have the training to be standing behind that desk. Either way, I am out nearly $200 for her unprofessionalism and Customer Service says that there is nothing they can do about it since the rental has ended. Thanks for nothing. This is the last time I will ever use Hertz. I am a frequent traveler and I have a full year of constant travel ahead of me. NONE of it will ever again include Hertz.

      On a recent trip to Dublin Ireland, I had a confirmed rental price of 452.42 euros for the entire rental period, which was agreed upon and signed for during pickup. However, upon returning the car, I was shocked to see a total charge of 1329.26 euros on the receipt. This was a blatant disregard of the confirmed price and an attempt to overcharge me. Despite my attempts to resolve the issue with three different individuals at Hertz's Dublin airport office, I was given various excuses and only after persistent questioning did they claim that I needed to use an American Express credit card to get the confirmed rate. This information was never communicated to me during the reservation process, on the phone or in the confirmation documents. It was only upon my return of the vehicle that this issue was raised, and even then, I was never informed of any specific credit card requirements. I had not thought to bring the card they were now requesting since I didn’t use it to obtain my reservation and had no idea it was going to be needed. However, I was able to contact my son in the U.S. to get all the information off the card they wanted but they refused to accept it. I was told the actual physical card had to be presented in this day of online shopping! Hertz refused to resolve my issue after many email and phone conversations with their customer service in the U.S. and in Ireland. Hertz left me with a huge overcharge of their confirmed rental price. Additionally, they are withholding the paperwork that would prove the charges I authorized when I picked up the car. In my opinion, this is a clear indication of their intention to deceive and mislead customers. This has been a terrible experience. It is disappointing to see such unethical behavior from a company that supposedly prides itself on customer service. Beware! HERTZ HURTS!

      Horrible company how do u file a lawsuit cause they are robbing people. but soon as u go down there and hurt one of them you are the trouble maker times are too hard for these people to be scamming you

      Went for a electrical car for lyft. Appointment was next day today at 3pm. Drove 45 min to location in personal vehicle. When arrived had to wait 30 min to be told they don't have any electric cars available. And said they don't know when they'll have more. Waste of time, waste of gas when someone could've called and said this before app. Then a 5 to 7 day return which is bogus. I rescheduled because it's the only hertz with rentals available. Wouldn't recommend tho unless you enjoy wasting time and money. Thank you

      I would never rent a car through this company ever again. Had a car rental for March 10 had to cancel it because they didn't explain that it will be a 500 dollar deposit so they told me they will refund me my money. It will take 7 to 19 business days. I waited 14 days and didn't receive my refund called them back and they tell me the agent that was working my case didn't finish processing my refund. Spoke to a supervisor to make a complaint because that ain't cool they there agents is messing up. She tells me she would process my refund and expedient if. **** 5 business days later and I still have not received my refund. Called back again spoke to a different supervisor and she tells me that pretty much the supervisor lied and they can't expedite the refund faster. So we got a full company full of liars. Smh. I called back to my a complaint on all the agents and supervisors that been working my case cause pretty much everyone is lying and giving me the run around. Had the nerve to tell me that it been expedite again and that I should have my money soon but the supervisor just told me that you couldn't. I just know if I don't get my money back by Friday it going to be some real issues. Was so quick to take my money but can't give it back because they don't know their job or know how to communicate. I will never in my life rent from this company again I rather walk in 12in snow then every deal with this sorry *** place.

      I would rather walk 100 miles than rent a car from Hertz! When my family was driving back home, they received a flat tire and were stranded on the side of the highway at night. When they called the emergency line, no one was willing to help and they were told them to call 911. They did indeed have to call 911 and a trooper had to assist them. They had to drive in snowy conditions to the closest town and get a hotel room. The next day they were told that they could not get the tire fixed in the town they stayed the night and were forced to drive 2 hours to the next town on a spare in bad weather in order to fix the tire. I would also like to mention that a baby was in the car as well. Hertz customer service was rude and told them that this was their only option. My family wanted to at least return the car and fly back home but Hertz told them they would lose their deposit. Hertz is horrible, they would rather risk the lives of people than ensure that they are safe. I will never rent from them and no one else should either. Just HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

      Hertz lied about free mileage in their Advertisement. I was told by Hertz representative that I will have unlimited mileage. After I returned the car full of gas as clean as I took it. They now want to charge me for mileage, when they could not charge for mileage after 3 months now they want $500 for detailing the car. The wanna take your money in any way by every mean. Do not rent from Hertz.p

      The only thing professional about this experience was the transportation from the body shop to the Hertz location. Once I got to the location it was a complete mess and completely unprofessional. I walked into the location and no one was at the desk. Everyone was in the back break down talking and laughing. She told me to have a sit which I did. The front waiting area was a mess. There were at least 10 opened candy wrappers just sitting all over the place. She went to the back to tell the people I was waiting and they couldnt be bothered to care. They continued to talk and laugh. I sat there 10 minutes without anyone coming out to meet me. A lady walks out finally with red and yellow braids and still says nothing to me. Turns out she was the manager at this location. A gentleman proceeds to come out, walks to his desk and a few minutes later calls me over to his window. There were 2 windows and I didnt know which one since he yelled it through the window. I walked to one window and it was the wrong one. The manager, yells not that window. I proceed to go to the other window. This is the most disrespectful service I have ever received. There is no way she should be the manager of this branch or any branch or any other establishment. Ive encountered better and more professional customer service at ********** She is a horrible representation to the Hertz name. I asked what is the address here. No one answered me. I said it louder and she proceeded to say ****** it. I was in utter shock. Before I left I asked for a receipt showing she terminated my rental, she said she couldnt do that. . I told her I needed something and she said her system wouldnt print anything. I personally will never rent a car from Hertz again and I will never recommend Hertz to anyone. This is absolutely unacceptable to treat a customer like this. You dont rent out the vehicle you are giving to someone you just sent a driver to pick. But I know it was a lie too!

      I rented a vehicle and called to extend my reservation. I was told an extension was not needed as long as I got the vehicle back by 9 PM. I was told I was only going to be charged $88. She said, after 9pm that I would be charged an undisclosed rate and she couldnt tell me how much the charges would be. Because of this, my husband and I rushed to get the vehicle back before the time she told me I had to be back by. I dropped the vehicle off, and the next day I received an extra bill for an additional $489!! I called into Hurtz and spoke to a customer service representative regarding the issue. The lady refused to give me her name or transfer me to a manager and hung up on me following her telling me she listened to the recording, which could not be true due to the length of the phone call. She was very rude. After that, I called back and talk to someone else who said they would not rectify the situation and that there was no recording to listen to when I requested a copy. He also could not get me to a manager due to no one being available upon my request. This company has poor customer service and I do not feel like I should be penalized for the misrepresentation of their employees. I was told that I was only going to be charged an additional $88 and I should not have been charged $489 instead FOR ONE DAY. This is ridiculous! My entire five day rental was only $300.

      ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & CARS. Went to Florida for a family vacation and planned on going to Disney. We spent hundreds of dollars to go to Disney for the tickets and could not go due to our rental car breaking down 2 times. The battery died, someone came and jumped it. Next day, battery died again, someone came to jump it. They said I NEEDED TO GO TO BUY MY OWN BATTERY…they had no other cars to give. They will not give me any money back as compensation although my whole trip I was unable to use the car provided. I lost HUNDREDS on the rental car and my Disney tickets. I’ve been loyal to Hertz for years. NEVER AGAIN
